Nod to Sam Raimi
When all the people are trying to vote on what movie to watch, Randy is yelling to the crowd what movies are availible. The first one he yells is "EVIL DEAD". This isn't the first time Wes Craven has used "Evil Dead" in his movies. In "A Nightmare on Elm Street", he has the girl watch "Evil Dead" to stay awake. Sam Reimi thanked Wes by sticking a Freddy glove in the basement of the cabin in "Evil Dead II".
Wes Craven as Freddy Krueger
In the first film, at some point when Sydney goes to the toilet, the janitor outside is wearing a striped red and black shirt - that person is Wes Craven dressed as Freddy Krueger from "A Nightmare on Elm Street".
Linda Blair from "The Exorcist" Makes a Cameo
In an uncredited cameo, Linda Blair plays a news reporter outside the school trying to get a few words from Sydney the day after her attack. She has one quick line and only a second or two on screen. This was a deliberate homage, as Wes Craven explained it on the audio commentary track of the DVD.
