Then you are woken up and asked what time it is and you have to set the clock. Then a man appears and: "Hello! Sorry to keep you waiting! Welcome to the world of Pokemon! My name is Oak. People call me the Pokemon Prof. This world is inhabited by creatures that we call Pokemon. People and Pokemon live together by supporting each other. Some people play with Pokemon, some battle with them. But we dont know everything about Pokemon yet. There are still many mysteries to solve. Thats why I study Pokemon every day. Now what did you say your name was?" This is where you name your character. Then regardless if your ready or not you are thrust into your mini form that you walk around in, and your game begins! ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Battleing ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// When a battle commmences in either the wild or vs a trainer the same rules are applied. The first pokemon on your list will be sent out to fight. You fight by taking turns to attack eachother. If your pokemon faints you will get to choose which pokemon you send out next. You can use an item but it uses up your turn. You cannot run from trainer battles, only wild pokemon. If all of your pokemon are defeated then you will be transported to the last pokemon center you healed at. You can heal a t pokemon centers for free, they are open all hours. If you defeat an opponent all of your pokemon that saw the opponent and are still concious will gain a share of experience. The higher the level of the opponent the more experience your pokemon will gain. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// WALKTHROUGH -PART ONE: JOHTO CHAMPION ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// New Bark Town You start in your room. Go down stairs, and walk towards your mum on the right, talk to her, and she will tell you your neighbour, Prof. Elm was looking for you, because you need to do something for him. Then she gives you your POKEGEAR. Pokemon Gear or just POKEGEAR is essential if you want to be a good trainer. Then you set the day and if its daylight savings or not. Then you can learn to use your phone, located in the menu under POKEGEAR. Ignore the other lady in your house. Go left and up into the large building which is Prof. Elm's Lab (notice the shady looking character around the side?). After some talk Prof. Elm will ask you if you want to raise a pokemon to help his research. then he recieves an e-mail from a guy called Mr. Pokemon sayings he discovered something important, then Elm says hes busy and cant go there, so you have to go instead. He then tells you to pick a pokemon from the table to the right. Ball one: Cyndaquil-fire type-hardest to raise Ball two: Totodile-water type-easiest to raise Ball Three: Chikorita-grass type-second hardest to raise Choose Carefully! once you've chosen he will tell you that Mr. Pokemon lives just past Cherrygrove, a small town. As you leave his aide will give you a potion to heal your pokemon with. Once outside, you can talk to the shady guy to get a kick up the butt if you want. leave town to the left and you will be on route 29. ROUTE 29 New Bark Town to Cherrygrove Fight all the pokemon you see on this path. Head left and down throught the grass then left and up through the gap in the small wall then right then up through the gap in the trees, then left straight away, past the building to the north and onto more grass and up through the gap to where a lone tree is, walk up to it and press 'A' to get one berry (see item notes), then go down throught the other gap and left into Cherrygrove. Cherrygrove Right at the entrance to this town is an old man who if you talk to and go on his tour, will give you a Map Card (see item notes). Go to the Pokemon Center if necessary and talk to the lady behind the desk to heal your Pokemon. If you want you can buy some more Potions from the Mart but you may save some of that money for Pokeballs (see item notes) later. Now head left and up to route 30. ROUTE 30 Fight all the pokemon you can without getting your health used up. head throught the grass and to another berry tree to get a berry. Then go inside the house and get another from the man. Go up through the grass next to the pond and there will be a red and orange ball to the left, an Item Ball, press 'A' to recieve the item. head north up the right most path until you come to a house, go inside and Mr.Pokemon will be there with Proffessor Oak. Mr.Pokemon gives you a mystery egg to give to Elm. Oak will give you a PokeDex to record data on pokemon you have seen or caught. Before you go Mr.Pokemon heals your pokemon. As you leave Elm calls and says there has been a disaster at the lab. Before you leave there is a berry bush to the left. It has a psncureberry (see berry notes). go back down to Cherrygrove. Cherrygrove -Again Heal your Pokemon at the pokemon center and leave for New Bark town but as you are leaving... ??? Your Rival appears and you end up in a battle, but if you have been fighting wild pokemon you should beat him easy, even though he has type advantage. After defeating him carry on (or heal), to New Bark town. New Bark town again When you get there see Elm and a police Man/Woman will ask you about ??? (the guy you battled). Give him name. After the police leave give Elm the egg and he will tell you that you should collect badges and take on the pokemon league championship. Go and talk to your mum and she will save your money if you want (like a bank). Go back to Cherrygrove. Route 29 -again this time a man will show you how to catch pokemon (this can be useful). you should have 5 pokeballs (see item notes) in your bag but i reccomend catching pokemon on route 30. Cherrygrove -again Heal, buy some items (see item notes), then go to Route 30 Route 30 -again By now the day may have changed to night or vice versa which means that different pokemon will be out and about for you to catch. this time take the left most path after the house with the berry guy, and you will encounter 2 pokemon trainers and battle them, they are not strong so it should be no problem, a great opportunity to train weaker pokemon (see battle notes). Further up the path is another trainer to fight then you will reach a cave with an item next to it. Ignore the caver and follow the path fighting one more tranier until you reach a large building which leads to Violet City... Violet City Gym no.1 Heal, restock items, then train if necessary, and go to the bellsprout tower, your pokemon should be at least lvl 5 and your main one lvl 10. Bellsprout tower is full of monks with lvl 3-7 Bellsprout which give off heaps of experience, i reccomend fighting them all. Follow the path up to the top level where the toughest monks are, including the master. Master after a brief talk with ??? you can challenge the master of bellsprout tower. He is tough, with two lv 7 Bellsprout and a lvl 10 Hoothoot, but beating him is essential to gain the Flash HM (see HM notes). After that heal, and get ready for the Gym challenge. Violet City Pokemon Gym: Leader-Falkner, the elegant master of flying pokemon. After beating his two apprentices you can fight him, he has a level 7 pidgey and a level 9 pidgeotto, beat him to recieve your first official pokemon league badge, the Zephyrbadge. As a bonus you get the TM 31 which contains mud-slap. As you leave the Gym Elm will call telling you his aide is waiting in the pokemon center, pop over there to see what he wants. The aide gives you the pokemon egg to hatch (you just have to walk a certain number of steps, nothing else, and it will hatch). The house down to the left is where you can trade a bellsprout for an onix. Past the mart (purchase an escape rope if you dont have one) and up to get to a T-section, head down to the Annon Ruins. Annon Ruins Enter the first cave and solve the puzzle (its a kabuto) to release some of the unknowns into the main cave. The floor drops out and your in the main cave, catch all the different shaped annons before leaving. A scientist will inspect your pokedex (if you caught all of the unknowns) and then you go to the lab to get a new section added to your pokedex which records all the data on unknowns.Leave the ruins by heading south and throught the building. Route 32 Head right then north to get to a berry tree, then head back down a left then down the path, talk to the first guy and he will give you a miracle seed, attach this to a grass pokemon to increase its attack. The path is pretty straightforward from here to the pokemon center, battle as many trainers as possible, if you miss any, heal up and head back. After the pokemon center head down and battle a bird trainer then into the cave. Union Cave Head left and grab the item, then fight the trainer, hes quite tough, then follow the path around till it splits ands you can go upstairs, go up them and fight the maniac, ignore the ladder, then head back down and right, fighting one more trainer till your out of the cave. Route 33 Head down and grab the berry. Head left past the hiker and up, ignore the guy by the well, head left. Azalea town Go to the pokemon center to heal, then to the house left of it. Talk to Kurt, when he leaves head back to the well you passed, the rocket is gone so go down and you'll see Kurt who tells you to rescue the slowpoke. Go along the path , fighting th rockets until you reach the boss, hes tough with a level 14 koffing. After you beat him he says something about Team Rocket coming back, then Kurt takes you back to his house, talk to him and he'll tell you to collect acorns along your journy and give them to him so he can make pokeballs with special features, he then gives you a lure ball, for catching water pokemon. head outside and down to the gym. Bugsy's the leader, make your way round to him while fighting his apprentices, heal at the pokemon center than challenge him for badge #2. Bugsy has a lvl 14 metapod, a lvl 14 kakuna and a lvl 16 scyther (a fire type helps here). After winning you recieve the Hivebadge and TM 49 fury cutter, use wisely. After that heal, restock items, and train outside union cave if necessary. When ready leave Azalea town by heading left throught the uilding, but before you get there a familliar person shows up. Your Rival has a level 12 gastly, a level 14 zubat, and a level 16 starter (evolved), making him just as tough as bugsy. Ilex forest follow the path to where a guy is waiting for his farfetch'd. follow the path and talk to the bird, it run away, get behind it and direct it back to the boy, where a man is now also waiting, the kid says thanks and the man gives you HM 01, CUT. Teach CUT to a pokemon, choose wisely because the move is perminant until the 8th badge. Cut throught the small tree just by the kid, then continue around the path until you come to a fork, head right and downa nd around till you reach a guy who gives you TM 02, headbutt, a powerful move, also used against certain trees to shake loose pokemon. Head back to the fork, then go north following the trail to the building and exiting the forest. Route 34 The building is the breeding center where you can raise and breed pokemon, talk to the man for another egg, fight all of the trainers until you reach Goldenrod. Goldenrod City In here is where my egg hatched, but it all depends on how much you walked around. Heal, stock-up (this is the biggest mart in the game, and up top you can trade pokemon.) then head up and just before you reach the railway tracks head left then down to a bike shop, get the free bike and you can travel so much faster. Above th pokemon center is a Game Corner where you can win all sorts of prizes, but bare in mind, you could lose your money too. Past the Game Corner there is a house, and the people are relatives of Bill, the world famous pokemon maniac, take the number from the little girl, ring it whenever you want to check on how much pokemon storage you have left in the current box. Go into the next building, then down to the underground path. Underground Carry on and fight all of the trainers unitl you reach an area with a couple of shops, an oldlady is there on certani days, and two haircut brothers alternate each day, the older one is more expensive, but your pokemon gets more. Carry on,ignoring the right path until you get out, then outside you go. Head to the right and into the house where you can get this guy, th Name Rater to rate and change your pokemon names. When finishedm head outside and down accross the tracks if you need to heal, stock-up, or train, otherwise got to the radio tower, talk to the people, get a radio by winning a quiz, then head to the gym. Whitney is the leader, she uses normal pokemon, shes really tough, but first go around beating her apprentices, than fight her. Her first pokemon is a level 18 clefairy, her second is a level 20 miltank, which heals itself and uses rollout which increases damage for each consecutivce hit, very dangerous, i suggest putting off its accuracy, or use other status problems which may interfere with rollout. After you beat her she starts crying and wont give you the badge, start to leave and her apprentice talks to you, then talk to Whitney to get the Plainebadge and TM 45, charm. After that, heal, stock-up, and whatever else you need to do, then head up through the building. Route 35 Head up to the building, fighting all of the trainers, note that the guards can only be fought at night. You can enter a bug catching competition, this is your only chance to catch a scyther or pinsir. If its not a contest day, then go in anyway, theres a few items and talk to a lady sitting next to a pokemon to get a quick claw, which increases your chance of striking first when equipped to a pokemon, also battle all of the trainers in here. Go out the way you came in, then head right. After the bug catcher, head down and around to a item. Then head back up to the small tree which you can use CUT on. Route 36 Head up and fight the trainer, then get the berry, then back right and up to a girl, talk to her and she says she will get a water bottle from her sis. Go back to the gym, right next door is a flower shop, get the water bottle and head back to the tree. Use the water bottle on it and it turns out its a sudowoodo! theres only one of these in the game, so be sure to catch it. Head right and talk to a guy who gives you TM 08, rock smash, careful who you teach this to, treat it like an HM. Head back left then up. Route 37 Keep going up. Fight all of the trainers and you will reach Ecruteak. Ecruteak City Heal, stock up , etc. In the pokemon center you meet Bill. He tells you you can now trade with RED, BLUE, GOLD and SILVER. Head up and left to the burnt out tower. As you go inside a man named Eusine talks to you, hers on the trail of a rare pokemon called suicune and that suicine is in this towe, the other guy is Morty, the gym leader here. Follow the trail left and up and right and down to your rival. Rival He has a lvl 20 haunter, lvl 20 magnemite, lvl 18 zubat, and a lvl 22 starter. Ater your battle, the floor opens up and you fall below ground. Head up the stairs and three pokemon will be there, one by one they will gain colour, then leave, the blue one, suicune looks at you first. Eusine is waitng at the bottom of the stairs (Entei and Raikou will now appear at random in the wild). Head up the ladder, then right and up to the rock, use rock smash to get a HP UP. Leave the building and heal etc. The building next to the gym has a guy who gives you an itemfinder, and tells you to check out the burnt tower for hidden items (just press A where they should be). Head to the building behind the pokemon center, battle the five kamino girls. After beating them talk to the guy with the hat for HM 03, SURF, a very powerful water attack and a means of travel over water. Head to the gym. As you kno, Morty is the leader here, he uses ghost pokemon, normal attacks wont work on them. HIs floor is a bit of a maze, just zig-zag to each of his apprenticesm, then him. Morty is tough, like all gym leaders, he has a lvl 21 gastly, a lvl 21 haunter, a lvl 23 haunter and a lvl 25 gengar. After beating him he gives you the Fogbadge and TM 30, shadow ball. After that, stock-up, heal, etc. Now that you can use surf i suggest you head for route 35 and go across the water to get a rare berry. Go into the building and talk to the guard for a pokemon carrying a pakage. After that, head back to where you fought sudowoodo, then right and head back to Violet city then surf to get a rare candy. throught the building to route 31, there is a guy sleeping next to a berry bush, give the pokemon to him. Make sure you have togepi, the pokemon that hatched from the egg. Then head all the way back to New Bark Town, talk to Elm. He gives you an everstone. Head all the way back to Ecruteak City. Leave Ecruteak throught the left most building. Route 38 fight all ov the trainers and you should reach a farm. Inside the barn is a sick moo-moo, give it all of your plain or gold berry's. It takes six berrys, you can now buy milk from the farmer. After that head down to route 39 Route 39 Battle all of the trainers until you reach Olivine Olivine City As you approach the gym your rival comes out saying the gym leader is in the lighthouse caring for a sick pokemon. Heal, stock-up etc. Then go into the resturaunt next to the pokemon center and talk to the salior to get HM 04, STRENGTH. Go to the lighthouse which is to the right out on a small piece of land, go inside, there are lots of trainers, try and make it to the top. At the top Jasmine, Olivines gym leader, is with a sick pokemon, she asks you to go across the sea to Cianwood to a pharmacy that has a cure. Exit the lighthouse (falling down the holes is faster). Heal, then head left past the pokemon center to route 40 Route 40 Nothing much, just a couple of rocks to smash, up through the building is the battle tower, but i wouldnt reccomend going there yet. Go down to the water, press A and SURF. Go down, try and aviod as many trainers as possible, you soon reach an are with four islands blocked off by whirlpools, turn left here and go all the way to dry land and Cianwood. Cianwood City Heal, then go to the pharmacy located between the gym and the pokemon center, get the cure. Talk to the guy in the house above the pharmacy and get a pokemon, shuckle. Go up to the top of the island and you will see suicune, he runs away, Eusine shows up and you battle. Eusine He shouldnt be a problem, he only has a lvl 23 drowzee, a lvl 25 electrode and alvl 23 haunter. After beating him, heal, then head to the gym. After battleing three apprentices you come across a rock puzzle, push the left on up, the right on up and the middle one left in that order. Fight the next guy then you can take on the leader. Chuck is tough, like all gym leaders, a master of fighting pokemon, use flying, ghost and psychic. He has a lvl 27 primeape and a lvl 30 poliwrath (part water). After winnning you get the Stormbadge and TM 01, dynamic punch. As you leave the gym, talk to the lady just outside and sh will give you HM 02, FLY. Heal, then FLY to Olivine. Olivine -Again Go up to the top of the lighthouse and cure the pokemon, Jasmine will now be in the gym for you to battle. But first, i reccomend training your pokemon with at least one on level 35, one level 32, and the rest level 30. When you think your tough enough, head over to the gym and challenge Jasmine. Of all the gym leaders, personally, i found Jasmine the toughest, she has no apprentices so its straight to the big gunns, She has two lvl 30 magnemite and a level 35 steelix, may not sound like much, but you'll need fire (reccomended) and rock (they have a weekness to steel though) to crack these pokemon open. After that she gives you the Mineralbadge, your sixth badge, also she gives you TM 23, irontail. See that house between the gym and the mart? go there, talk to the guy and he gives you a good rod, stand facing the water and select this from the items to fish for pokemon. Heal, stock-up etc, then head back to Ecruteak. Ecruteak -Again Head up to the burnt tower, go down the ladder than to the right and move the rock for Tm 20, then go back outside. Go right to the other side of town, then throught the building to route 42. Route 42 Keep going right across the water and ignore the caves, theres not much point in entering except for pokemon just now. CUT throught the bush and enter the small area for another suicune encounter, then go back up and carry on right to Mahogany town. Mahogany Town. Heal first, the Mart her is pretty strange with some items that are only sold here, it only has the basic ordinary items like potions and pokeballs. Head north to route 43. Route 43 There are a few trainers, battle them all, follow the grass path instead of the road otherwise Team Rocket will make you pay a toll. When you reach the end of the path you will be at Lake of Rage. Lake Of Rage In the center of the lake is a pokemon, save, then battle it, its a Red Gyarados, very rare and powerful, dont be fooled by its level only being 30, with dragon-type pokemon always treat it as being 5 levels higher than it says it is. Capture it, if you fail, reload your game without saving, then try again. After the battle you recieve a REDSCALE, this is for later in the game. Go back to land and a man dressed in black will be standing by the sign, talk to him, its Lance, he says hes a trainer like you, but really hes the Pokemon League Champion and a master of dragon-type pokemon. He asks you to help him with his investigation of the mysterious activity's around Lake Of Rage. After the talk go back to route 43. Route 43 Head down to the left instead of the way you came, across the water, and up the path, part way up it forks two ways, one is a dead end (right) go down until you are one step away from the trees, press 'A' to recieve a Full Restore. Carry on to the left path and go up, cut throught the tree, then you come to another fork. This time take the left pass and stop when you are one step away from the trees, press 'A' to recieve a Rare Candy. Back down to the right, cut through the first tree and get the Elixer, then carry on right and cut through the tree and head left to the house. The guy inside gives you TM 10, Hidden Power, use wisely. Go back and carry on right to get TM 43, Detect. FLY back to Mahogany. Mahongany -Again Heal, then go into the Mart where Lance is battleing, watch the scene and follow Lance downstairs to the Rocket Hideout. Rocket Hideout -Floor One As you walk pat the statue a Rocket Grunt will appear, beat him, than another one appears, beat him too, this will happen each time you pass a statue untill you turn of the security cameras. Before you reach the second statue head down and right, then down before the third statue, then left into the room with the Rocket Scientist, beat him. Stand in front of the computer and face it, press 'A' and flick the switch, cameras are now disabled. Goback and carry on past the third Statue, follow the path around to the stairs. Rocket Hideout -Floor Two Talk to Lance, he heals your pokemon, as you carry on from here, fight ALL of the Rockets and speak to them after the battles. Carry on right and go downstairs. Rocket HIdeout -Floor Three Lance is here, he says two passwords are necessary to open the big door to the bosses room on level 5. Head into the room, dont talk to the Scientist unless you want a battle, talk to the Grunt at the back instead, fight, then talk to get the first password. Head out of the room then to the left and into that room, fight both the Rockets, get the password from the second one. After that go to the top-right of this level and go up the stairs. Rocket HIdeout -Floor four Go Left and fight the Rocket,he tells you a Red Haired Guy beat him before -must be your Rival- then go downstairs. Rocket Hideout -Floor three: Part two Go down then up the lower stairs for an item, then back down and right towards the office. Your Rival approaches and tells you he hates Team Rocket, and that he was beaten by Lance, then he leaves without a fight. Go up to the door and press 'A' to enter the codes and open the door. Head in and fight the Rocket Executive. He has a lvl 22 zubat, lvl 24 raticate and a lvl 22 koffing, pretty easy. After the battle talk to the bird, it gives you the password to the big door in the first part of floor two, go there. Rocket Hideout -Floor Two: Part Three Unlock the door and you will be attacke by two rockets, then Lance shows up to even the odds. A Rocket Executive fights you, she has a lvl 23 arbok, a lvl 25 murkrow and a lvl 23 gloom, no problem. Thats the Rockets done for now, but Lance tells you that this place must be shut down so you'll have to battle the 6 electrode that provide power, they are all lvl 23 and you only battle 3, watch out for their seldestruct, I reccomend using high defense pokemon. After that Lance calls you a hero and gives you HM 06, Whirlpool. Head up to floor one and step on the square near the stairs to teleport to the exit. Mahogany -Again I imagine after all those Rockets your pokemon could use a rest, heal them. If you up for it take on the Gym Leader, or train until you feel your ready, but hes not as tough as Jasmine which is strange. Once inside the gym you will notice that the floor is covered in ice, with a few patches of ground, you have to slide from patch to patch to reach Price, the Leader. This is how its done: go to the otherside of the left pillar and step onto the ice in front of you, the up again to bump into a Boarder, fight him and you'll notice that they use ice pokemon, after that go right to the patch, then down to the next patch, then left, then up,then right, now you can fight Price. He has a lvl 27 seal, a lvl 29 dewgong and a lvl 31 piloswine. Shouldnt be too much trouble. After you beat him he gives you the Glacierbadge, your 7th badge, one more to go, he also gives you TM 16, icy wind. Outside you recieve a phone call from Elm telling you there might be something wrong with the radio tower in Goldenrod City, but hes not too worried. Sounds like the work of Team Rocket, best heal and Fly to Goldenrod. Goldenrod City -Again Heal even if you dont need it, so if you are beaten you will appear here instead of Mahogany. Go to the tall Black building up and to the left of the game corner. radio Tower Go inside, there are Rockets all over the place, dont take them lightly, they are quite a bit better than the last ones, make your way to the top level. If you talk to some of the people you can find out that the Director is trapped on the top floor. When you reach the Director its quite a different story, its a Rocket Executive in disguise, you'll have to battle him. Hes got grunt but not much, with 3 lvl 30 koffing, a lvl 32 weezing and another 2 lvl 30 koffing. Atfer beating him he tells you the Director is stashed away in the Underground Warehouse. Go back to the pokemon center and heal, then got to the underground, remember that side passage we skipped last time? thats what the keys for, to open the door at the end of it. Undergound Basement Go down the stairs then left a bit and your Rival appears, this time he wants a fight. Rival: lvl 30 golbat, level 30 haunter, lvl 34 starter, a lvl 32 sneasel and a lvl 28 magnemite. Hes not too tough, you should be able to beat him, my starter was lvl 40, the rest were around lvl 33. After this battle your Rival realises that Lance was right in saying that you need love etc. to raise your pokemon properly, he goes off to correct his mistakes. Now for the Rockets. Battle the three Rockets here and dont touch the switches. After beating them, you need to press the switches in a certain order to open up a pathway to the lift. The switch order is this: 3, 2, 1, how difficult. Battle the trainers and collect the items on the way through. Next to the Rocket is an emergency switch, flick it, then go into the big doors. Follow the path around and fight the rockets, dont go upstairs, carry on around and get to the Director. The Director gives you a card key to open the door on lvl 3 of the radio tower. Head up those stairs you passed before and then make you way to the lift, go up one floor, your in the Department Store, stock up, and go to the pokemon center to heal. Radio Tower: Part Two Go to level 3 and face the key slot and open the door. An Executive is guarding the second flight of stairs . it shouldnt be long before you reach the top, two Executives are up here. The first one has a lvl 32 arbok, a lvl 32 murkrow and a lvl 32 vileplume, quite a handful, you may want to heal at the pokemon center after this because the Boss is tough. Boss: he has a lvl 33 houndour, a lvl 33 koffing, and a lvl 35 houndoom (this has massive attack power). After beating him you are congratulated and awarded a Clear Bell (this may seem stingy but its not). The Director informs you of rumours about the Tin Tower in Ecruteak. Heal etc. then Fly to Ecruteak. Ecruteak -Again Go up to the Tin Tower and go inside, the Sage wont let you past untill you show him the Clear Bell, then go past him, as you come to the exit three Sage are waiting, they will battle you, they are relatively strong. Sage one: lvl 32 noctowl and a lvl 32 flareon. Sage two: lvl 32 noctowl and a lvl 32 jolteon. Sage three: lvl 32 noctowl and a lvl 32 vaporeon. As you battle they tell you the legend of the Tin and the Brass Towers and the legendary pokemon that once resided within. After winning carry on to the Tinn Tower. Tinn tower This is one of the most important battles of the game, you will not get a chance to repeat it so save beforehand, and make sure you've got plenty of ultra balls because your going to capture Suicune, the legenday dog of water and ice. As you go in you loose control of your character and watch as raikou and entei leave (if you havn't captured them already in the wild) then suicune commences the battle. Suicune Level 40 ice/water weakness: electric and grass attacks. strategy: dont make it faint, use sleep and paralize techniques, then capture it once its health is low (red or almost). If you amke it faint reload your game without saving. After the battle Eusine thanks you for the awesome battle (apparently he was watching throught the wall?) you can leave the tower to heal etc then head back to Mahogany and exit town to the left path, route 44. Route 44 Wether you take the high or low path you end up in the same place but go along both to fight the trainers, and go surfing to get some items. eventually you should come to the ice pass. Ice Pass This place is fun, step on the ice and you go sliding away in that direction. The first ice you come to is pretty easy to navigate, but carry on around and you come to the tricky bit. Step onto the ice, then go left, up, left, down, left, up, left, down, right, down, right. Go past the stairs, across the ice and get HM 07. Then up the stairs and around to the ladder. Down a the ladder and your in a confusing room with boulders and holes. Go up and then down at the fork till you reach two boulders, move the bottom one right, the top one left twice and up twice. move the bottom one down twice, then up one, then left five times, then down then right into the hole. Take the lower left path then up to the next boulder, push it right once then down five times, then left three times, then down one, then left into the hole. Carry on this way to the next boulder, push it up twice, left once, up twice, right twice, up once, then left into the hole. Go up to the left then down to the last boulder (the first one you saw) move it left once, then down into the hole. Go up and right along to the ladder, go down and your in a huge ice room. In line with the ladder, go left, get the item, go back right, and go to the right and down most corner of the small land, then go left into the boulder, then down into the next, then right to the next, then up to the next and right onto the land and go down the ladder. You might want to save now so you dont have to do that all over again if something happens. Smash through the rock using 'rock smash' to get the nevermeltice, then carry on to the ladder and go up. Go to the right and onto the ice then align yourself with the stairs and go down, then right to get the item, then up, then left then down and up the ladder. Go onto the ice, then right, down, left, up, left, up, left to carry on. If you want an item thoough, you'll have to go up (from where i left off) right, down, left, down, left and across the ice to the item. Carry on and up the ladder. Go up to get the item. Go all the way to the left and onto the ice, get the item, back up, right to the middle, down and to the exit. Blackthorn City Heal, stock up etc. The lower most house contains a man who can make your pokemon forget moves you've taught them, even HM moves. You'll need to train quite a bit before your ready for the next Gym, they use dragon pokemon some of which are weak to electricity, some which are weak to grass moves. I reccomend training in route 45, to the south. When your ready, take on the Gym. Fight all of the trainers, upstairs there is a rock puzzle, ignore the first two rocks, they are useless, follow the path to the next two rocks, push the top one all the way down, then the bottom one all the way up then right into the hole. Carry on up, the next puzzles simple, just push the first rock all the way, then the second one into the hole, jump down after it. Fight the trainers till you reach the leader, go back tot he pokemon center and heal, then come back and fight her. Clair is a dragon master, shes extreamly powerful and will exploit as many weaknesses as she can, take no unecessary risks with her, heal wenever theres an opening and whatever you do, dont lose. Her pokemon are: three lvl 37 dragonair (they know thunderbolt and are very fast) and a lvl 40 kingdra (weakness electricity) which knows moves like surf and hyper beam. After you win, she simply will not give you the badge until you take the dragon challenge behind the Gym, so go heal. Dragon Den As soon as you get in you'll face a trainer, beat him, shouldnt be too hard. cary on around to the left and down, fight these trainers alonge here, then you'll come to a whirlpool. If you havnt taought a pokemon whirlpool then do so now, careful though, its not a very strong battling move. Use whirpool, then go down into the house. A kind old man approaches and he will ask you some questions about how you think of your pokemon. If you pass his test, he'll tell you not to lose faith etc. then Clair comes in and her grandfather makes her give you the badge. If you talk to the other two they say your the first since master Lance to be accepted. nice. Leave the building and Clair will approach, apologize, give you TM 24, then tells you how to get to the Pokemon League. head right and follow the land and grab the item, a dragon fang, very rare, dont toss. Leave the cave. as you get out of the cave Elm rings and asks if you can swing by his lab. Fly to New Bark Town New Bark Town -Again Go to Elm's lab and talk to him, he gives you a master ball, it will catch any pokemon first try, very rare and valuble, i suggest you put it in your computer for safe keeping until you need it. Ok, you have all of the badges, guess its time for the Pokemon League. But before you head off, stock up and heal. When ready, Surf to the right of New Bark Town, to route 27. Route 27 Keep going right across the water and then onto land, a guy tells you you've just taken your first step into Kanto, check out your map. Surf down and righ to reach an item. Other wise go into the cave, Tohjo Falls, pretty simple, teach a pokemon HM 07, Waterfall, then float in front of one and press 'A' and you will swim up the waterfall, theres no need to do this on the way down. Outside is a trainer, battle her, then go in the house and talk to the old lady, she'll give you TM 37 if your pokemon trusts you enough. Head left and fight all the trainers on this route, on the bridge you might wanna detour by surfing down, through the whirpool and left to a bird trainer, battle and grab the item. Carry on, fighting the trainers as you go, soon you will reach route 26. Route 26 Carry on following the bridge, when you reach land keep going up until you reach a house, the lady inside will heal your pokemon. If you follow the grass just next to the house it will lead you to another house, read the letter inside, make note of what you read, investigate it later. Carry on up till you reach a road station. Inside the guard checks your badges, than lets you pass, head up and into the cave. Victory Road This is a piece of cake, there are no trainers. Head up th stairs, then right and up, then right and then down, right, up and grab the items, then back left, down the stairs, left, up, up ladder, down then up stairs follow this raised area, then left for an item, back right, up and up the ladder, ignore th stairs and carry on up, as you get near the door, a familliar face shows up, its your Rival. Your Rival has improved heaps, be careful. He has a lvl 34 sneasel, a lvl 34 magneton, a lvl 38 starter, a lvl 35 haunter, a lvl 35 kadabra, and a lvl 36 golbat. Carry on up and exit the cave, go along route 23, then enter the Pokmon League building. Indigo Plateau -POkemon League Now this is how it works, you have to beat the elite four, and the champion if you want to be a master, you dont get to heal between battles, except with what you have in your pack, theres no backing out once its started. They all have different types of pokemon but stick to one type themselves. They are rather powerful, so you'll need to train heaps, have your starter on about level 50, your others should be on level 45+. Make sure you have plenty of items to heal and revive etc, also try and conserve your best moves for last, you dont want to run out of PP while facing the champion. A couple of spots to train are Victory Road or Route 26. Elite Four Each member is in a different room. You have to face them in a certain order. The pokemon listed are in no particular order except the first one of each list. 1st Will: level 40 xatu -psychic/flying level 41 exeggutor -psychic/grass level 41 jynx -psychic/ice level 41 slowbro -psychic/water level 42 xatu -psychic/flying Will may use a max potion at random. 2nd Koga: level 40 ariados -bug level 43 forretress -bug/??? level 42 muk -poison level 41 venomoth -bug/psychic level 44 crobat -???/flying If you beat him fast enough he wont use an item. 3rd Bruno: level 42 hitmontop -fighting level 42 hitmonchan -fighting level 42 hitmonlee -fighting level 46 machamp -fighting level 43 onix -rock bruno uses a max potion. 4th and final Karen: level 42 umbreon -dark level 45 gengar -ghost level 42 vileplume -dark/grass level 44 murkrow -dark/flying level 47 houndoom -dark/fire If you beat her fast enough she wont use an item. Champion Lance: level 44 gyarados -water/dragon level 50 dragonite -dragon level 47 dragonite -dragon level 47 dragonite -dragon level 46 aerodactyl -flying/rock level 46 charizard -fire/flying Congratulations! you've just achieved the main objective! your pokemon will be in the hall of fame, your name remembered for a long time. You are now the Johto champion. The credite play and they are very long, but be patient, the game starts up and select continue, thats right your not done yet, your only about halfway. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// WALKTHROUGH -PART TWO: WORLD CHAMPION ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// New Bark Town You start out infront of your house, take a step (not into the house) and Elm will call you up and get you to pop by his lab. Inside, Elm gives you an S.S. ticket, for a boat that leaves from Olivine City, and takes you to Vermillion city in Kanto. So, talk to your mum if you want, even have another look for entei or raiku if you havnt caught them yet. Then head to Olivine. Olivine City Heal etc, then you see that building to the right and down of the pokemon center? go in there then follow th path to the S.S. Aqua. S.S. Aqua As you enter the main corridor an old man bumps into you, hes looking for his granddaughter, so much for a peaceful cruise. Check out each cabin while moving to the left, the last one is where you heal your pokemon. Then head down and to the right, inspecting these cabins too, aslo battleing restless passengers. Up around the next corner is some stairs, go down them, talk to the guy who says his shipmate is slacking off, then go find the slacker, hes in the cabin next to yours. You have to battle him, once thats sorted you can carry on from where the guard stopped you. Theres a few trainers to battle down here, none of them should be real trouble. Head up the stairs, then into the cabin, the little girl is entertaining the captain, she goes back to her gramps, and your taken along, he gives you a Metal Coat, dont toss this, when attached to an onix or scyther, then the pokemon traded with another Gameboy Colour(with Pokemon Crystal) this will help them evolve into new pokemon. The ship arrives, so exit and your in Vermillion. Vermillion City Heal etc. Go down to the Gym and Challenge the leader. Lt.Surge This guys crazy, but hes not so tough, shouldnt be a problem. He has a lvl 44 raichu, a lvl 40 electrode, a lvl 43 magneton, a lvl40 electrode and a lvl 46 electabuzz. Once beaten, Surge gives you the Thunderbadge, your first Kanto badge. In the house directly above the gym listen to the man rant on about rapidash and he will give you a rare candy. Heal etc. Leave Vermillion to the north. Route 6 Battle everyone, head through the station to Saffron City. Heal etc. Saffron City Go into Mr. Psychics house to the right, he'll give you TM 29. Carry on up to the gym, go inside. This gym has a puzzle, but its quite simple. The squares teleport you, just keep going up and down, dont go left or right, battle trainers if you want, then eventually you'll reach Sabrina. Cycling Road Your on your bike the whole time and your going straight down, the trainers along here are about average, battle them all. Route 17 See above. Route 18 Battle the trainers then go to Fuchsia City. Fuchsia City Heal etc. Challenge the gym. Janine All the people look like Janine so you'll have to battle each one until you find her, also there are invisible walls around the place. Route 8 Battle all of the trainers then head back to Lavender, the door to the underground cannot be opened. Then go up to route 10. Route 10 Go into the rock tunnel. Rock Tunnel You'll need to use the HM move Flash to be able to see in this place. This tunnel is very simple, just follow the path, its impossible to get lost. Route 10 Heal if you need to, otherwise carry on untill you reach the water. Surf around to the power plant. Power Plant It appears that a vital part to the generator has been stolen, three guesses as to who the thief is, and the manager is very angry, maybe you should help. Leave the plant and carry on along route 10. Route 9 Battle all of the trainers along here. Cerulean City Heal etc. then check out the gym. A Team Rocket member bumps into you, he seems strange, then he leaves. The gym is now empty, leave and head north across the bridge. Half way there is the crazy Team Rocket member again, battle him to find out whats happening. Hes hidden the machine part from the generator inside the gym, but first carry on up. Route 25 Battle the six trainers and the extra guy, then recieve the prize and take on the leader. As you get near the house you accidentaly interrupt a private moment between Misty and some unknown guy, Misty heads back to the gym for you to challenge her. Follow her back. Cerulean City -Again Go into the gym, you see where the path splits and then rejoins? well, in the small pool of water is where the machine part is, just surf and press "A" until you find it.
