INTRODUCTION \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hey guys. This was my first ever FAQ. I still remember writing this some years ago. Well now that I've written a few other better guides, I came across this one and decided to update it. I can't believe I didn't notice before but this was all over the place. Sloppy headings, too bunched up etc. Anyways, it's all fixed up now for your own benefit. I absolutely loved this game. I played it a lot as a younger child and got back into it many years later. So much so that I ended up writing this guide. This is just about the only weapons guide for this game so I feel I really helped out a lot of people. To introduce you to this guide, it runs through all the weapons of the game. You will find just about everything you need about the weapons in Hitman in this FAQ. I have listed each weapons price and other basic features and also a description of them. Hope you enjoy this guide. Let's get on with it. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |2. CLOSE COMBAT HAND WEAPONS \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Close-combat weapons are small, lightweight, silent, and easily concealed. Their drawbacks are the fact that they are the most difficult ones to use because you need to get within arm's reach of the enemy. Sneaking is necessary to succeed with this type of weapon. It is a good idea to bring at least one of these on each mission. Fibre wire ********** Length: 80 cm Price: $110 Silent but deadly. The best kill is a silent kill. Easily sneak up upon enemies from behind and at a close enough distance take out the fibre wire and take them out. Advantages are that it is more silent and enemies will not scream when you take it out and kill them (unlike the knife.). Enemies will also be pulled back when they are strangled with the fibre wire so you can easily just drag them away quickly. This will not trigger metal detectors so it is a huge life saver on "traditions of the trade mission" Knife ****** There are 2 types of knifes in this game but they are exactly the same. Also used for stealth situations just equip it and from behind slice your enemies throat open. Very deadly and quick from behind. Very poor effect from the front of an enemy. When you take someone out with this knife they are likely to scream and sometimes this will cause suspicion. Enemies will fall forward when you take them out with a knife so you must be quick in hiding the body. There is the pentagon knife and oyabun knife. Syringe ******* This small needle can be found on 'the setup' mission. It is perfect for sneaking upon enemies and without a fuss or sound just stab them in the neck and they will die instantly. Extremely quit kills performed with this. You cannot purchase it though. It can only be found on very few missions. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |3. PISTOLS (HANDGUNS) \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pistols and revolvers are small, relatively lightweight and easily concealed. You can kill at a greater distance than the close combat weapons but the weapon makes a lot of noise unless it is silenced. Another great thing about the guns is that you can shoot two at a time if you happen to be trapped in a fierce firefight. You can carry up to 6 pistols at a time these are the pistols: Hardballer *********** Type: Semi-Automatic Caliber: Pistol Magazine Cap: 7 Length: 8.5" Weight: 38 Price: $550 Ammo: clips for $5 each. This small handgun can be accessed in almost every mission. Not my favourite choice because firstly it is not used for stealth or silent kills and even if you are in an all guns blazing situation it wont help you out much because there isn't much power in it. Not bad in accuracy but nothing to be amazed about. If you want to bring it along encase you run out of ammo and just for backup then take it if you feel you need it. Otherwise it's not necessary. Berreta92 ********** Type: Semi-Automatic Caliber: Pistol Magazine Cap: 15 Length: 15.1" Weight: 39.2 Price: $475 or $775 for silenced type. Ammo: $10 for 15 bullets. A small handgun similar to the hardballer. The power is not great but the accuracy is awesome. Can hold up to 15 bullets before reload. Comes with silencer sometimes which is good for quite kills. Fairly accurate here to go for headshots even from a far distance. You will dispose of the target in 2-3 shots. I would tag this along on missions. Desert eagle ************* Type: Semi-Automatic Caliber: Magnum Magazine Cap: 7 Length: 10.75" Weight: 71.4 Price: $1200 Ammo: clips are purchased for $6 each. Heres the heavy artillery now. This semi automatic magnum pistol is one of the least accurate handguns in Hitman but makes up for it with incredible Bullet firing power to take out an enemy in just a couple of hits to the mid section. Highly recommended on any missions. Luger P08 silenced ******************* This gun only shows up in the mission "Traditions of the Trade", and seems to be on a par with the Beretta, but with only 8 rounds in the magazine. Extremely quite firing with poor power and accuracy depending on distance. Derringer ********** This can only be accessed in the console cheat 'giveall'. So unless you use cheats you wont get this weapon. You're not missing out on anything anyway. A small handgun with pathetic stopping power and bad accuracy. However this barely makes a noise when fired and reloaded. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |4. LARGE RIFLES \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rifles are large weapons that shoot precisely on medium ranges. They are heavy and cannot be concealed. Assault rifles are fully automatic if you keep the Fire button pressed. These are the rifles: Kalashnikov AK-47 ****************** Type: Automatic Rifle Caliber: 7.62 mm Magazine Cap: 30 Length: 37.1" Weight: 8.05 lbs Rate of Fire: 600 rpm Price: $700 Ammo: each clip (I think that's about 30 rounds) is $30. Available in the lee Hong assassination and some of the Columbia missions. It Holds 30 rounds in one clip. Perfect for guns blazing position to take out a large number of enemies. Can only carry one of these at a time and cannot hide it in his jacket. This will be seen by guards and might cause suspicion. Fairly good range. Fair power and moderately accurate but poor when too far away this famous rifle is all about power and barely about accuracy. Kalashnikov Ak103 ****************** Slightly more accurate than the AK47 with similar stopping power. It is overall better than the AK47 but used in the same way. M16A2 ****** Type: Automatic Rifle Caliber: 5.56 mm Magazine Cap: 30 Length: 39.6" Weight: 8.79 lbs Rate of Fire: 700 rpm Price: $600 Ammo: comes in rounds of 30 for $24 each. Holds 30 bullets at once and a rather large weapon. Fires at a great range and very fast shooting. Its stopping power will get the job done. Fairly accurate even at range and fires at 700 rounds per minute. I would recommend it for a guns blazing situation where you will have to take out a crowd of numerous enemies. The great speed of fire on this gun will get the job done in an ultimate bloodbath. The disadvantage here is that since it is so fast you will have to worry about ammo running out so do be careful about what you shoot and for what reason. Seriously it's not a toy so use it wisely. You can find this gun being used by the guards in 'plutonium runs loose'. If you are able to acquire this weapon during the game then I would stick to it. It has smaller damage and power than some of the other rifle machine guns but more than makes up for it in the great range and accuracy. M60 **** Type: Light Machinegun Caliber: 7.62 mm Magazine Cap: Belt Fed Length: 42.1" Weight: 23.1 lbs Rate of Fire: 550 rpm Price: $1900 Ammo: comes in belts of 50 rounds for $50 each belt. Holds a bit more ammo at once than original rifles. This can hold up to 50 rounds before you need to reload. Incredible stopping power here. Even in burst single shots the target will go down in 2-3 shots. The M60 will reach far but there's no advantage here because its not accurate enough. Fires at 550 rounds per minute. Good for storming in on enemies to take them out. This amazing firearm is shown to need a tripod to balance it from the power it contains. It shows up in most of the Columbia missions if you purchase it but you can take it from the drug lord you kill. Like I said not too accurate and will fire so hard that it is hard to keep the bullets on one target but the astonishing power is just perfect if you're in trouble. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |5. SNIPER RIFLES \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The sniper rifles are the most accurate and dangerous weapon. Drawbacks are slow reload time and the inability to use it at close range. These are the sniper rifles: R93 sniper *********** Caliber: .308 Winchester Magazine Cap: 6 Length: 42" Weight: 12 lbs Price: $1550 Ammo: $2 per each round Effective up to 800metres. Able to zoom in on enemies from a safe distance away. You must have the shot perfectly lined up because the scope will move up and down. Powerful weapon with silenced effect and will not make large noise when fired. Can be dissembled into a briefcase and carried around without causing alarm to guards. Unfortunately it can only fire one bullet at a time before reload is needed and it does take some time to reload. So you should go for a head shot or somewhere around there just encase the enemy doesn't go down. WA2000 ******* Caliber: .300 Win Mag Magazine Cap: 6 Length: 35.6 " Weight: 15.9 lbs Price: $9525 Ammo: comes in rounds of 6 for $12 each. Effective at up to 1000metres distance. Hard to find throughout the game. Very rare weapon also with excellent range for sniper situations. Holds 6 rounds at once and able to shoot one after another 6X until reload. This will take down most people in 1 shot or 2 if unlucky. This cannot be stored in a briefcase and is not silenced. Be aware that this powerful sniper and the R93 sniper are the most accurate and most likely powerful in the game. Perfect for picking out your target to get a clean head shot from a fairly ranged distance. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |6. SHOTGUNS \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Shotguns have a much lower rate of fire and a short range but they are absolutely devastating at close range. These are the shotguns: Mossberg persuader shotgun ************************** Type: Pump-Action Shotgun Caliber: 12 gauge Magazine Cap: 6 Length: 38.5" Weight: 6.75 lbs Price: $285 Ammo: $1 for each bullet. This 12 gauge Holds one bullet at a time but a fast reload rate. Poor effect at a far distance but very deadly and powerful close up. Good when enemies are close to you. Not too accurate so aim for the torso to take your opponent down in 1 or 2 devastating shots. Should be used when faced with 3 enemies at the most. If you've got allot of people trying to kill you at once then I wouldn't use this. Sawn off shotgun ***************** Holds 2 bullets at a time and is held and fired in one hand. Can be holstered and hidden in jacket. Take down in about 2 shots from close up. Somewhat better range than regular shotgun with poor accuracy. Good thing is that it can be used just like a pistol because it's not as big as other shotguns in the game. Even though it will reach a little further this gun is next to useless when far away. Really only effective from close distance. This weapon is only available by killing the bartenders in the Hong Kong missions and taking it from them. Franchi PA38 ************* Type: Pump-Action Shotgun Caliber: 12 gauge Magazine Cap: 3 Length: 18.5" Weight: 5.4 lbs Price: $350 Ammo: $6 for every 8 rounds. Holds 8 bullets at once but not so fast at reloading. Usually kills people in 2 shots and slightly better range than normal shotgun. Good to take out a number of enemies because you don't have to reload as often. Be warned its not as powerful as the other shotguns though and the time it takes to reload is very slow so you will be taking some hits while you're still pumping the bullets back in it. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |7. SUB-MACHINE GUNS \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sub-machine guns are medium-sized, concealed weapons. Their size prevents you from carrying more than 2 concealed at a time. They fire a lot more bullets that any of the other weapons (except the minigun), but they are not as precise. The high rate of fire can be a drawback if you do not carry enough ammunition. Highly recommended weapon for all stages that they are available in. These are the sub-machine guns: Heckler & Koch MP5 ******************* Caliber: 9 mm Magazine Cap: 30 Length: 14.5" Weight: 6.141 lbs Rate of Fire: 900 rpm Price: $2200 or $2700 for silencer type. Ammo: 30 rounds come in for $21. Similar to the UZI. Can be silenced or not which will help you dearly by not causing suspicion. Fires fairly fast and reloads at medium speed. Holds 30 bullets and good enough accuracy to do head shots. Fires at a great speed of 900 rounds per minute with the power to easily take down enemies. Should be used when faced with a few problems on a mission. You can find this weapon in the Rotterdam missions. I can easily say that this is one of the best weapons in the game. Fast, powerful, silent, accurate and easily concealed this is a hitmans dream come true to carry this weapon. Israeli military industries UZI ******************************** Type: Sub-Machinegun Caliber: 9 mm Magazine Cap: 32 Length: 17.1" Weight: 8.41 lbs Rate of Fire: 650 rpm Price: $900 Ammo: comes in clips of 32 bullets at $22 each clip Poorly ranged weapon and performs good takedowns on enemies. Fires also at a fast rate and holds 32 bullets. Poor accuracy in this weapon though so it's good to just aim for the mid section and fill them with bullets to send them down. A highly reliable gun which fires at 650 rounds per minute. When it's possible to buy it on a mission I would. It will come in useful. A major downside to it again is the efficiency. The bullets fly out all over the place so you can't expect to much clean kills but you will get the job done if you're skilled enough. Available in the Lee Hong assassination and highly recommended to stick with it in this mission. It will come in handy for you. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |8. OTHER WEAPONS \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ These are some other weapons that aren't in any of the categories above. Mini-gun ******** Caliber: 7.62 mm Magazine Cap: Belt Fed Length: 35.4 Weight: 35 lbs Rate of Fire: 10000 rpm Price: $10750 Ammo Cost: $1000 for every 1000 bullets purchased A belt fed Gatling gun with great range and power and speed. Fires 10000 rounds per minute and holds 1000 at once before you need to reload. Excellent power behind it to send enemies flying back and take them down. Cannot run or walk very fast while holding this gun and it does take a while to get the barrel spinning so you can start firing and isn't very accurate, but when you think of it you don't need accuracy when you've got this kind of power and speed under your arms. Don't need to worry about ammo because it can hold a large amount so use this when taking out powerful enemies and a large number of them. This weapon can be found in a tent on "Say hello to my little friend" which has allot of people to kill and not to mention the drug lord who takes a while to kill. This gun is recommended for taking out allot of people who are after you. When this gun is equipped tap the fire button once to make the barrel spin. This way you don't have to wait for it to start shooting when enemies come for you. It's almost impossible for anyone to hide from the bullets because of how fast it shoots out the ammo. You can find this in the final mission and it will be perfect for the competition you have. Obviously there is no way you can hide this gun and you will most likely be shot at if seen with it. Another downside is that even though you may be lucky to find it in some missions it won't be of much help. I would only recommend this for killing the drug lord and in the final mission. Trust me. Anywhere else is just useless. Blowgun ******** Once again only available if you use the "giveall" cheat in "the jungle god" mission. It says blowgun but our hitman actually just fires it mysteriously just like a rifle. A very powerful weapon that tends to take people down in a single shot no matter where they're hit. It does fire fairly fast but you must keep tapping the fire button. A huge lack of accuracy here. The bullets (or whatever they are) come flying out and go all over the place. They will swerve off target. You must stand within a very close distance to actually hit the enemy and take them down. It must be filled with venom or something because you can shoot people in even the leg and they are likely to meet death. Stun gun ********* A small electric stunner used to calm down mental patients. You can get this if you kill one of the guards on "the setup" mission. It's very hard to use. You must be practically on the enemy and hold the fire button down to light it up and they will be frightened by it. It won't help you out much at all so it's pretty much useless to have. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |9. EQUIPMENT \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Along with weapons, you also use different equipment in the game. All used for different actions. They will help you out a lot. Here is the equipment available: Binoculars *********** Type: Military grade optics binoculars (7x50mag) Weight: 950 grams Price: $750 These binoculars are perfect for stealth missions to pick out your target and investigate from a very safe distance away. They zoom in close enough to spot a freckle on someone's face. If you want to be safe and professional in silent kills and sneaking around while spying on your enemies then this is for you. I recommend you take this on the missions 'Plutonium runs loose', 'Find the U'wa tribe' and 'Gunrunner's paradise'. Though you might not use them all the time they will come in useful on some parts. Compass ******* Type: Lightweight military field compass. Weight: 150 grams. Price: $80 A small compass with the basic North, East, South and west directions. Useful in large outdoor missions to find your way around. Not too much trouble to have but I can't really see it that useful. Recommended on find the U'wa tribe mission because you will be in a jungle and it could come in useful if needed. Kevlar body armour ******************* Type: Body armour Weight: 1300 grams. Price: $900 A large and very strong vest to protect your body (mid-section) from bullets. However it wont do much good if you're shot in the leg or head. Comes in very useful as an extra health slot. Highly recommended on ALL missions. Car bomb/with remote detonator ******************************* Type: remotely detonated C4 explosive Price: $3000 This genius gadget is needed on the mission "Ambush at the Wang Fou restaurant" to secretly sabotage the limo and blow it to pieces. It is a small explosive bomb that detonates via remote. The good thing is that you can do it without anyone seeing you. Though it is small it causes a rather large explosion. It can also be found on "plutonium runs loose" mission. GPS transmitter/with receiver ***************************** Price: $4000 A tracking device which comes with a receiver to lead you to the direction of the transmitter. It is needed on "Gunrunners paradise" to follow Ivan to the secret shipping dock. With this thing placed on an object you can assure that you will not lose its location. The receiver comes free with this. /------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |10. TRICKS AND CODES \------------------------------------------------------------------------------ These are some cool tricks I found out while playing the game. They are kind of hard to perform but if you keep trying you will eventually master it. Hold 2 pistol handguns at once -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- If you have more than 1 handgun during a mission drop one of them and then take out the other one. If done correctly you will be holding both of the guns at once and you will be able to shoot double bullets. More ammo for sawn off shotgun -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The sawn off shotgun is just like a pistol. It is held and fired in one hand. But you have to reload after every 2 shots. Heres a trick. Drop your sawn off shotgun and equip a desert eagle (I think any of the handguns will work) reload your desert eagle so it has full ammo and then pick up the shotgun again. Now the desert eagle should be in your right hand and the shotgun should be in the other hand. Now you can fire the sawn off 7 times before reloading because the two weapons in your hands must reload at the same time. No reload needed for hardballer gun -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Start a mission where you can get a Hardballer and Desert Eagle handgun. Make sure that the handgun has no ammunition. Take out your Hardballer and drop it on the ground. Then, take out your Desert Eagle with no ammo. Pick up the Hardballer. You can now keep shooting your Hardballer without having to reload. Note: You will not have unlimited ammo on the Hardballer hand gun. Slow motion -=-=-=-=-=-= Press [Scroll Lock] during game play at the start of a mission to move in slow motion. Note: Aiming is not effected by the speed change so you will have an advantage. Hide rifle in jacket -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Get a rifle (e.g. AK 47) and a handgun (e.g. Desert Eagle). First, holster your rifle. Then, take out your pistol. Next, reload your handgun, quickly arm your rifle, and take out your handgun again before the reloading ends. Your rifle should now be hidden in your suit. Once you arm the rifle again, you have to repeat the process to hide it. 15 rounds for any gun -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Place a Beretta 92 in your inventory. Select the gun that will have 15 rounds, and make sure that is the only object that you are holding. Drop that gun on the floor, take out the Beretta 92, and pick up the gun that was dropped. If done correctly, you will be holding both guns simultaneously and will have 15 rounds in each gun because they shoot at the same time. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** There are some codes available to use during the game. However, activating them is confusing but I've tried to make it as simple as possible. Just take these procedures carefully and you should be alright. You should have hitman installed in your computer. When the game is NOT open and running click on start and then search. A folder should appear and you can search for documents and pictures in your computer. Click on 'All files and folders' and type in 'Hitman.ini' and then click search. Your computer should search for this readme text. When it finds it open the text and it will be some writing. You can edit this folder. On a new line type in "enableconsole1" (enable console 1) without spaces and the inverted commas. Save the file and then open the hitman game. During gameplay press the ~ key. (Next to the number 1 key to the left). A black window should come down and you can type in one of the following codes Invisible1 -=-=-=-=-=- Nobody can see you. You will be like a ghost. Nobody will know you are there. God 1 -=-=-= This activates God mode. This basically makes you unkillable. You will not lose any health when shot. Giveall -=-=-=-= All weapons and items unlocked. Your inventory will be packed with all the weapons and items.
