Introduction Glitches are mistakes that game developers ignored to fix while making the game. Some of them help you beat the other team while others help you explore the world outside the maps. The following guide will tell you how to use them, and how to counter them (if possible). 2. General Glitches General glitches are glitches that can be used in any map and are commonly used in matchmaking or arranged games. a. Sword Cancellation This is the most basic glitch. Equip a sword and lock onto an opponent. Press the R trigger to lunge at your opponent. Immediately after you press R trigger, press X. This stops all sword actions except for its animation (MasterCheif or the Elite will continue to swing the sword). b. Sword/Rocket Launcher This glitch is commonly used to get to places where players shouldn't go. Equip the rocket launcher and the sword. Have an opponent stand where the rocket launcher can lock onto him/her, but the sword can't. Simultaneously press R trigger and Y (you may have to use both hands). If timed right the player will fly toward the opponent, possibly flying over him. c. Dummying This glitch is the most notorious one. WARNING!!!! Do not use this in matchmaking as for it counts as cheating and cheating can get you banned from Xbox live. To do this trick you'll need a warthog. Have the player get into the passenger side and get out. At the last second press B repeatedly. This causes the player to stay inside the warthog, but on other players screens it shows that the player is out of the warthog hitting the air. From there the player can go anywhere and as soon as you get out, you can grab flags, kill enemies, etc. As soon as the player makes any sudden movement, he/she will go right towards their body. Counter: If you see any person on the opposing team hitting the air, be sure to kill him to prevent them from cheating and/or winning. d. Force Field Penetration We all know that there are force fields preventing players to go to places. Equip the sword and find an opponent on the opposite side of the force field. Simultaneously press R trigger to go toward the opponent. Soon enough the player will go through the force field and is able to go anywhere. 3. Lockout Glitches There are no glitches for Lockout. People say that you can get to the roof above the gravitational lift. Yes but that is a trick, not a glitch. 4. Ascension There are three glitches for this map. a. Outside of Ascension Have any player stand on the ramp of one of the rotating pillars in the center of Ascension. Have another player get into a banshee and boost right into the player on the ramp. The player getting rammed should fly out and land safely way outside Ascension. b. bottom of tower 1 Tower 1 is where the sniper is located and a big fork high above it. Go near the edge of the sniper area and look down at the slanted pillar holding up the tower. Jump and land directly in the middle of the pillar. Go too low and you will fall toward your death. Go too high up and you will fall toward your death. c. bottom of tower 2 Tower 2 is the tower opposing tower 1. Go to the bridge connecting the banshee landing pad and tower 2. Just before going up the ramp to tower 2 look to the right and the player should see a small ledge. Jump onto the ledge and look over the edge opposite the wall. Now fall (not jump) down and you should land safely into an area fill with smoke. 5. Midship There are 2 glitches for this level. a. Neutral Bomb Glitch Having the player grab the bomb and head towards the ramps leading to the sword (not the blue glowing ramps). Before the ramps lead into the room jump to get onto the roof, then jump again to get higher on the roof. Face the wall then run toward it, dropping it as you run. The bomb should go into an area where it can't be reach. b. Disappearing Platform. Look at the disappearing bridge trick on Zanzibar paragraph. Same will work for center platform in Midship. 6. Ivory Tower Glitches One glitch is available for this level. a. Outside of Ivory Tower Go to the ramp that contains the over shield. Go to the top of the ramp and turn left, and then take another left on a small railing. Have anther person stand on the other side of the railing, behind the glass. Use the force field penetration glitch to go through the glass and fall to the edge below Ivory Tower. 7. Beaver Creek Glitches There is one glitch for this level. a. Teleportation Frying Melee any rock to the back of either base and have it rest on the teleporter. Have the player jump over the rock into the teleporter and then run back into the teleporter they came out of. The players screen should go white, the controller should vibrate, and you should lose some shield. 8. Burial Mounds Glitches There are two glitches for this level. a. Holograms Have a player grab a wraith and go near the pillar where the ghost is located. Have another player duck and walk backwards into the pillar. The player in the wraith should boost into the player near the pillar. If successful, the player will fall through the pillar and their hologram will appear in the sky. b. Getting out of Burial Mounds. Have a player get into a wraith and go to the cliffs behind the location of the rocket launcher. Another player should board the wraith and the wraith should go up the cliff. The player on the wraith will hop off and stand as close as possible to the force field. The wraith should now boost at the player near the force field. If done correctly, the player will fly over the force field and will be free to explore the area. 9. Colossus Glitches No glitches are available for this map. 10. Zanzibar Glitches. There are 4 glitches for this level. a. Beach force field penetration Have one player get into the wraith and another person stand as close as possible to the force field in the water. The person in the wraith should ram the person near the force field and he/she will go through it. Use the force field penetration to get other players across the force field. b. Getting on the roof of the Defensive Base. Go to the gate of the defensive base. Above the gate is some ledges with some metal roofing. Have one player stand on the metal roofing and another player stand on top of his/her head. The player on top of the other player should jump and now gain access to the roof. c. Getting outside of Zanzibar. Get onto the roof of Zanzibar and go to the corner. Have one person equip the sword and lock onto the player (the player with the sword should be facing the wall, a little to left) and have the player without the sword jump. The player with the sword should sword cancel and fly over the force field and be able to explore. Use force field penetration to get other players to the other side. d. Disappearing Bridge Trick Go to the bridge leading to the sword and rocket launcher. Have at least ten people stand on the bridge or until bridge starts creaking. After a minute or two the bridge will disappear, causing all players to drop. 11. Coagulation Glitches There is one glitch for this level. a. Getting out of Coagulation. Get into the spectra and go to the left of the red base (near the rocks). Boost up the wall and up the highest point. Have a player stand near the wall and duck. Have the driver of the spectra boost into the player and, if done correctly, he/she will fly over the force field and be able to explore. Use the force field penetration and/or sword cancellation to get other players across the force field. 12. Headlong Glitches There is one glitch for this level. a. Getting out of Headlong. Have a player get into the banshee and hover near the ground. Another player should jump on top of the banshee and maintain his balance. Fly near an edge (ones that are just above the top force field) and have the player jump on the edge. He/she will be able to explore. Use the rocket launcher/sword glitch to get multiple players on top of headlong. 13. Waterworks Glitches There are no glitches for this level. 14. Foundation Glitches There is one glitch for this level. a. Getting on top of Foundation. Go to the room with the square hole leading to the roof with a fan. Have a player have his back to the wall and another player with the sword lock on to him. The person with his back to the wall should jump and the player with the sword should sword cancel up and into the hole. He/she will now be able to explore the roofs. Use the rocket launcher/sword glitch to get multiple players to the roofs. 15. Final Words I hope you enjoy these glitches. Use some of the general glitches to get into areas where no player has gone before, or try the ones listed above to explore for yourself. As a reminder DO NOT use the dummy glitch on matchmaking as it will get you banned from Xbox live.
