HALO 2 INDEX: 1) Intro 2) Notes from the author 3) Controls 4) Characters 5) Weapons Guide 6) Vehicle Guide 7) Enemy Guide 8) Weapon to Enemy 1) Intro: Here you will learn how and what certain things do in this game such as; What weapons work best on which enemies, what's the best way to kill a certain enemy, which vehicles work best on what part of terrain, how fast a vehicle goes, and how much a punch a guns got. You will also learn how to beat the hardest of the hard bad guys in this game. ____________________________ 2) NOTES: a) There were no marines, Heritics, Elites, or any of the Halo2 characters were harmed in the making of this FAQ. b) I got help from some of my /--\ partners. c) This is not to be plagiarized or copied without my consent. d) The ratings on the weapons are my opinion and might not be yours. e) Some of this information came out of the Halo2 Official Strategy Guide. But was reworded, rephrased, and reordered. f) ENJOY... 3) Controls: R trigger = Fire right weapon L trigger = Fire left weapon, throw grenade X button = Board, hijack, or leave vehicle B button = Melee attack A button = Jump Y button = Change weapon, pick up second for dual Black button = Toggle grenade type White button = Activate flashlight/cameo Left stick = Move character Right stick = Aim weapons 4) Characters: 1) Master Chief 2) Cortana 3) Sgt. Johnson 4) Prophet of Regret 5) 343 Guilty Spark (Oracle) 6) Tartarus 1) Master Chief The Master Chief was taken from his home on Eridius II and was taken as a test subject at 6 years old, along with about 100 others they went through many tests trying to make them super humans, augumentations and muscle enlargers, many died. He was made the "leader" of the Spartans at an early of around 8 when he received the name Master Chief, he was usually just called by his serial number, #117. His real name was John but only one person ever called him that, Dr. Hasley, the founder and idealist behind the Spartan program. After fighting many battles Master Chief is left alone after all his Spartans died on the fall of Reach. He is now a lone Spartan fighting solely that Earth might live, he is a man with nothing to lose, except the existence of the human race. ( for more info. on MC and how he grew up e- mail me at Drumerboyof09@aol.com) 2) Cortana The AI (artificial intelligence) "living" in Master Chiefs suit, she helps the Master Chief in many of his bad situations and helps him destroy the Halo's and kill as many of the covenant as possible on the way, while keeping him alive of course. Cortana likes to find back ways into ONI's central command center and read things she's not supposed to, after finding the control of the first Halo her memory space has dropped considerably and is a little more touchy. She will still be your best friends and biggest help. 3) Sgt. Johnson He's one of your superior officers who you take orders from, there are very few of these people and he is one of them. You will usually see him lugging around a sniper rifle, of which he is a great shot. He is also one of the few "invincible" characters, who can not and will not be killed, even if you were to shoot him in the head a 100 times. He is a great person to have at your back in a fire fight and a powerful ally. And never underestimate his power against the largest foes. 4) Prophet of Regret Possible the "villain" of Halo2 and the one you spend your time trying to find and eliminate. Fighting him the first time might seem endless until you find out exactly how to do so..he can not be killed by firepower, you must hop on his floatty device and bash him to death. He is looking for the key to turn on and activate the Halo and destroy of human kind, so you also need to find the key before he does. You will see him in many cut scenes and holograms of him while playing but you will only encounter him once through your escapade through the game. 5) 343 Guilty Spark (oracle) You met him in the first chapter of the Halo games. Yes he is that glowing flying orb that betrayed you in Halo:CE. He is back as powerful as ever. He is known as an Oracle to the Covenant and is valued very highly by there religious standards. He is not much different in Halo2 than he was in Halo1, he is still that little backstabbing nuisance that you never really want near you and you don't really trust. He may not be around as much but you still don't like him, mostly because of what he did to you in Halo1. He is another one of those characters that can not be killed. I've spent many hours and shells into him and trust me he doesn't die, however with a bash he does sort of yell, in his own stupid computer kinda way. 6) Tartarus As you progress he becomes more and more of a threat to you until the point where you need to eliminate him, which is not all that easy. He is a brute and by far the strongest and most powerful brute you have and will encounter. He is the "leader" of the brutes and is second only to prophets. He has many minions that do his devilish deeds for him so you will probably only see him once...at the very end. Being the evil villain he is the hardest to kill. His shields are very hard to penetrate and his warhammer will kill you with one hit. By this point in the game your probably not all that fond of Brutes and most likely don't like Tartarus at all. But he is a powerful character that should have much respect... well ok no he should die a slow painful death. ____________________________ 5) Weapons Guide: A) Human 1) Magnum 2) SMG 3) Battle Rifle 4) Shotgun 5) Sniper Rifle 6) Rocket Launcher 7) Fragmentation Grenades 8) Turrets B) Covenant 1a) Plasma Pistol 2a) Plasma Rifle 3a) Needler 4a) Carbine 5a) Beam Rifle 6a) Brute Shot 7a) Fuel Rod Cannon 8a) Energy Sword 9a) Plasma Grenade 10a) Plasma Cannon C) Forerunner 1b) Sentinel Beam Human! 1) Magnum: This is your basic pistol. With its unlimited ammo, good force, and others it makes a great way to kill off the leaders of an oncoming attack. Projection: 30 inch Caliber Damage: Medium, 6/10 Range: Long, 8/10 ROF: High, 9/10 Accuracy: Medium Auto Capability: Fully Auto Ammunition: Unlimited Scope: No B) Covenant! 1a) Plasma Pistol: Best weapon you can get for taking off elite shields. With its charge up capability, it can blast through most shields with one hit. Try dual it with a SMG, and your ready to kill you some elite's. Ammo: Superheated Plasma Dual: Yes Damage: Low, 1/10 Range: Close, 2/10 Accuracy: Medium, 4/10 (Charged=Homing), 8/10 ROF: Low (charged shots), 2/10 (Medium (rapid shots), 7/10 Auto Capability: Manual Energy Per Round: 0.5%, 9/10 (charged: 15%), 2/10 Overheating: Average, 5/10 Melee: Fast, 10/10 Scope: No Total: 5/10 2a) Plasma Rifle: Pretty good gun if you want to take on a lot of elites but other than that this gun hasn't much use. It's still a good gun though. Ammo: Superheated Plasma Dual: Yes Damage: Medium, 5/10 Range: Close Accuracy: Medium, 6/10 ROF: High, 9/10 Auto Capability: Fully auto Energy per Round: 0.5%, 9/10 Overheating: Average, 5/10 Melee: Fast, 8/10 Scope: No Total: 7/10 3a) Needler: Fun gun but not very effective unless you put the whole clip into the enemy. The tracking system works well though. Dual needlers could make the difference between life and death in a hard time. After the needles have found there mark they will each emit a small explosion. Ammo: Crystalline Projectiles Dual: Yes Damage: Low to High, 9/10 Range: Long, 8/10 Accuracy: Homing, 10/10 ROF: High, 10/10 Auto Capability: Fully Auto Magazine Size: 30 needles, 5/10 Reload Time: Average, 5/10 Melee: Fast, 9/10 Scope: No Total: 6/10 4a) Carbine: The covenant battle rifle only more advanced. This is a great weapon against any enemy. Ammo: Energy Projectiles Damage: Medium, 5/10 (with scope: High), 8/10 Range: Medium, 5/10 (with scope: High), 8/10 Accuracy: High, 8/10 ROF: Low, 3/10 Auto Capability: Semi Auto Magazine Size: 18 projectiles, 4/10 Reload Time: Average, 6/10 Melee: Average, 6/10 Scope: Yes (2X zoom) Total: 8/10 5a) Beam Rifle: The covenant sniper rifle. This is a great gun for taking out those shields from long shots, then picking them off one be one. Ammo: Accelerated Particle Beam Dual: No Damage: Very High (with scope), 9/10 Range: Very High (with scope), 9/10 ROF: Low, 4/10 Auto Capability: Semi-Auto Energy per Round: 5 to 6%, 6/10 Overheating: High (after 2 quick shots), 3/10 Melee: medium, 6/10 Scope: Yes (5x by 10x zoom) Total: 8/10 6a) Brute Shot: This is one of those guns were you love it or hate it. This is a gun that's also years behind the covenant weapons. It's a simple grenade launcher that explodes on impact. One of its best things to offer is that its melee is a giant steel sword that works great. Ammo: Grenades Dual: No Damage: High, 8/10 Range: Long, 8/10 Accuracy: Medium, 6/10 ROF: Medium, 5/10 Auto Capability: Semi-Auto Magazine Size: 4 Grenades Reload Time: Slow, 2/10 Melee: Slow, but effective Scope: No Total: 4/10 7a) Fuel Rod Cannon: This is a giant plasma rocket launcher so to say... It fires a very large and destructive plasma shell. It is perfect for clearing out a room full of enemy that you don't wish to fight off. Ammo: Explosive Energy Round Dual: No Damage: Very High, 9/10 Range: Far, 8/10 Accuracy: Low, 4/10 ROF: medium, 6/10 Auto Capability: Semi-Auto Magazine Size: 4 explosive shells, 5/10 Reload Time: Medium, 5/10 Melee: Slow, 3/10 Scope: No Total: 6/10 8a) Energy Sword: This is the best weapon you can find against a flood agent or close foe. This is a very close range weapon but makes up for that in strength, this sword can kill elites in one stroke. It can even kill the un expecting Brute with one stroke. Damage: Very High, 9/10 Range: Close Combat, 5/10 Melee: Fast, 10/10 Total: 9/10 9a) Plasma Grenade: The adhesive stuff on this grenade makes it perfect to throw on an enemy in a crowd and take out all the standing near opponents. The blast radius is much higher if stuck to an enemy so get to know how to throw these simple but effective weapons. Damage: High, 9/10 Range: Long, 9/10 Amount Can Carry: 4 Total: 8/10 10a) Plasma Cannon: A great way to kill many flood/covenant or even heretics' in a short amount of time. It is very effective on one individual as well. Its ROF is not quite as high as the human turret but its range and power are both more than better to make up for that. Ammo: Superheated Plasma Damage: Medium, 7/10 Range: Long, 9/10 Accuracy: Medium, 6/10 ROF: High, 8/10 Auto Capability: Fully Auto Amount of ammo: Unlimited Scope: No Total: 8/10 C) Forerunner! 1b) Sentinel Beam: Very little is known about the sentinel beam but its very effective against the flood and elite shields. This shoots a strait beam of an unknown substance but is still very strong. This is what u will be shot at with by sentinels, those things that fly around. Ammo: Unknown Damage: Medium, 8/10 Range: Low, 4/10 Accuracy: Medium, 7/10 ROF: Continuous, 10/10 Auto Capability: Continuous Beam Energy per Round: 1%, 8/10 Overheating: After 19%, 8/10 Melee: Slow, 3/10 Scope: No Total: 8/10 6) Vehicles Guide: A) Human 1) Warthog 2) Scorpion 3) Pelican B) Covenant 1a) Ghost 2a) Banshee 3a) Wraith 4a) Spectre 5a) Shadow 6a) Phantom A) Human! 1) Warthog: This is probably going to be your most common transport vehicle besides the Ghost. There are a couple different variations of the Warthog. The M12 Warthog LRV which is the most common one has the 50cal. Weapon on top. And the M12G1 Warthog LAAV which shoots a supersonic projectile that is extremely power-full. Controls: Left Thumb stick: Accelerate, Brake/Reverse Right Thumb stick: View/Steer Right Trigger: Horn Left Trigger: E-Brake Tips: You can run over enemies with the warthog it's hard but u can slide your rear end over them by using your hand brake. A great way to learn how to master the warthog is play Halo1 if you have it. You can actually have races on it. They have the same basic controls. Use the e-brake to slide your back end around so you can get around those sharp corners or even run an enemy over as stated above. This is also the only difference between the warthog in Halo1 and Halo2. 2) Scorpion: This is a great weapon against Banshees and all other enemy vehicles. Its primary weapon is its cannon, 90mm High Velocity Shell, will take out most vehicles in one hit. Its secondary weapon is a machine gun, 7.62mm Armour piercing tracers, is great for those few enemy's running around when you don't want to use the cannon. When both of them are shot at one vehicle it will tear them apart very fast. Controls: Left Thumb stick: Move vehicle Right Thumb stick: Move angle of view and weapons Left Trigger: Fire 2nd weapon (Machine Gun) Right Trigger: Fire 1st weapon (Cannon) Tips: The scorpion has one major disadvantage, and that's that it has a blind spot. Being too close to the tank can leave them helpless from you. They can't shoot you if you're right next to it. If you can get to this vehicle while in enemy is in it you can board it from the back were they might not notice. This also allows you to throw grenades in the back killing the driver in 1-2 grenades. It is a lot easier than most other ways to destroy this super tank. Like the warthog passenger can get a ride from you (only in campaign). Having allies on the side of the vehicle lets them fire there own weapons and provide great help in tough situations. This leaves them exposed to any incoming fire so keep moving at all times. 3) Pelican: This drop-ship would be the "plane/space shuttle" that gets you to you LZ (landing zone). It will also pick you up at the extraction point. All though you may not drive these they are still very important of the game. This will also time to time bring you a very useful supply of vehicles or back up. B) Covenant! 1a) Ghost: This will be your most common vehicle in this whole game. It is very useful when handled and driven with skill, and accuracy. Now with the availability of boost lets you get away from the enemy you don't want to fight. Or just to get to a point quicker. The boost however will disable your weaponry. This is also the fasted vehicle in the whole game except maybe the Banshee. Its twin plasma cannons can destruct just about anything. One disadvantage is that the driver is very vulnerable for enemy fire. Controls: Left Thumb stick: Move forward/backward, or strafe left/right. Right Thumb stick: Adjust elevation of fire. Steer left/right Left Trigger: Boost Right Trigger: Fire plasma cannons A Button: Air Brake Tips: Learning how to control the ghost can help you tremendously in the campaign and multi player. One fast way to learn how to drive this is to play on multi player with a friend and put in just ghosts. Use an open level such as Coagulation or Zanzibar. This is a great vehicle in most situations. The ones you would want to avoid would be against a rocket launcher, scorpion tank, and probably a good sniper. Your back is largely unprotected. It can make an easy target for not very good shots. The front of the ghost however is quite the opposite, your head just barely peeps over the edge making it hard for the most skilled sniper. 2a) Banshee: This is the one vehicle that actually flies that you can pilot. This is your second fastest vehicle in the game but is much more versatile in many ways, being able to fly rather than hover can make all the difference between life and death. The banshee has improved much sense Halo1 for instance you know have Boost, which allows you to move faster (you may not use the guns while using boost). Fuel Rod Cannon is another one of the improvements it's a secondary weapon that's a fuel rod cannon (very useful when facing other banshees)(NOTE: This has been disabled in multi player activities so the banshee wouldn't dominate the maps). The final and probably most noticeable difference is that you can know do Arial movements. (detail's, in Tips,). Controls: Left Thumb stick, up: Accelerate Left Thumb stick, down: Brake/hover (for the later only momentarily) Left Thumb stick, left/right: move left/right Right Thumb stick: Move view/direction, steer left/right or up/down Right Trigger: Fire Twin Plasma Cannon's Left Trigger: Boost B button: Fire Fuel Rod Cannon A button, Left thumb stick, up: Loop A button, Left thumb stick, left/right: Barrel roll, which ever way you chose. Tips: Try not to make frontal attacks the banshee doesn't have the armor for this. Try to sneak up on your advisories and blow them up from the rear. The banshee's armor is not very strong and it doesn't take to much to blow it up fast. Weapons with a fast ROF are a threat. So are scorpions and a well wielded rocket launcher. Being able to use the loop and barrel roll is vital while in the banshee. This enables you to basically side step or just climb higher than your opponent's fire. This is a great way to learn how to kill scorpion's and even incoming a homing rocket launcher. 3a) Wraith: This is the Covenant battle tank. It is heavily armored and very hard to penetrate. But this comes at a price, being as big and bulky as it is it is very slow. As usual you can substitute its guns for a quick boost. In campaign mode it has two plasma cannons that will fire automatically when ever an enemy comes within its range. The wraiths main weapon is a giant Plasma Cannon that will destroy just about anything in its path. Controls: Left Thumb stick: Move wraith forward/backward, strafe left/right Right Thumb stick: Change view, steer left/right Right Trigger: Fire Plasma Cannon Left Trigger: Boost Tips: The two cannons on the top of the wraith can be excellent way to keep those pesky enemies who run under the main cannon. But whenever you are the one trying to commandeer this vessel they can be a great pain. If you sneak up on it from the back they may not notice you. Being able to use the boost capability can be extremely helpful when you need to run over a few flood, covenant, or even your friends in multi player mode. NOTE: In multi player the twin plasma cannons are not there, allowing you to get a lot closer a lot easer. Once again you can climb aboard and melee out the cabin and throw a grenade in to eliminate the driver. Be sure to jump off after you throw the grenade or the blast may catch you off guard and take your shields off some. 4a) Spectre: This is what you would think of the covenant warthog but is actually a cross between a drop-ship and a light reconnaissance vehicle. This can hold up to 3 passengers and a driver. The passengers can sit on each wing and fire what ever weapon they may be holding at the time. The gunner is located in the back of the spectre. The gunner's weapon is a Plasma Cannon with a very high ROF and can be swung in a full 360º angle. This is not a particularly fast vehicle but is very agile and can get into hard to get places. Controls: Left Thumb stick: Move spectrum forward/backward, strafe left/right Right Thumb stick: Change angle of view, move left/right Left Trigger: Boost A Button: Air Brake While in gunner: Right Trigger: Fire plasma cannon Tips: The boost will not do much to help your speed, but on the plus side it won't disable the onboard cannon in the back. The spectre gives very little cover for any of the passengers and driver. So try to make the vehicle a hard target at all times and let the passengers and gunner take out any threats rather quickly. To prevent the spectre from flipping over which it may try to do. While teetering press and hold the A button. This enables the Air Brake stabling the vehicle. 5a) Shadow: You will not be able to pilot this vehicle but it is still a major part of the game. The Shadow is the covenants main transport vehicle. It can carry 8 covenants or 1 ghost. It also holds a very strong cannon on the top that sends infantry running for cover. It can even be a problem for the heavily armored vehicles such as Scorpions and Pelicans. 6a) Phantom: This is another one of the vehicles you may not drive. This is the Covenants dropship that will place fresh and new troops into battle. The Phantom has 3 turrets on the bottom of it, to provide cover for there cargo. 2 of the turrets are placed on each side of the wings, and the 3rd one is placed right under its nose. There is no way you can completely destroy a Phantom but you can destroy all of its turrets making the only threat the enemy it drops of. 7) Enemies Guide: A) Covenant 1) Grunts 2) Jackals 3) Elites 4) Drones 5) Hunters 6) Brutes 7) Prophets B) Flood 1a) Infection Form 2a) Combat Form A) Covenant! 1) Grunts: Are the lowest in the Covenant hierarchy. They will usually come in packs and are led by at least one Elite. Official Name: Unggoy Favorite Weapons: Plasma Pistol, Needler, Plasma Grenade Types: Minor Grunts (yellow) are the easiest of the grunts and will go down with a simple few shots or one to the head. Major Grunts (red) these are a tad stronger and harder than the Minor Grunts. They will take a few more bullets before put down. Gunner Grunts (green) these are the grunts that you will find on stationary gun emplacements. They are about the same as the Major Grunts in all the other ways. Specops Grunts (black) are the grunts that you will find with secret groups who are trying to get past one spot without being spotted. These are also the hardest and toughest of the grunt species. Killing Spree: Twin SMG's. The best way to kill a grunt would to just simply put a couple rounds into there bodies and head. Tips: Grunts will usually scatter once there commanding Elite(s) has been killed. Take advantage of this while you can, because after time they will come around and try to fight again. Every once in a while you will find a sleeping grunt. This usually means that they feel safe and secure. There will probably be an Elite or a higher ranked Covenant species. When they are sleeping you should always kill them with a melee attack to the head which is silent but deadly. Grunts now use a lot of plasma grenades. In Halo CE: they used to give a warning yell to there comrades, but now they have figured out the ability of discretion. 2) Jackals: Like grunts are apart of the Covenant worker class. They hold shields that are impenetrable by hard rounds. You will find jackals most places you would find grunts. Since they both are low on the ranking order they will usually stick together. They will even congratulate after they kill a foe. Official Name: Kig-Yar Favorite Weapons: Plasma Pistol, Beam Rifle Types: Minor Jackal (green shield) these are lowest and weakest of the jackal species. They will be taken down with a few well placed shots. Major Jackal (orange shield): A little tougher than the Minor Jackals but not by much. They are basically the same only the Major's shield can take some more damage. Sniper Jackal (no shield) Sniper Jackals are very annoying and can take out a target from a far and with dead accuracy and fast reaction time. They however are easy to kill. A simple few bullets will take them out. Killing Spree: Rocket Launcher, Grenades, and Sniper Rifle. The best way to kill jackals would to put a few well placed shots through there small shooting hole. Sniper Jackals are a different story since they don't have shields. They only need a few placed shots into them. Tips: A jackal's shield can stop any of the marine's bullets with an exception of the Rocket Launcher. The use of plasma weapons is an entirely different story. They will cut through the shields in a matter of shots. One charged Plasma Pistol shot can take off their shields. A Jackal's shield can deflect grenades, even the sticky plasma grenades. Try to lob a grenade over their heads and get it right behind them, this should do the trick well. Without the shied Jackals are very week and fragile and can be killed with very few shots. Even a butt of a gun to the head can kill them instantly. The shield that they carry has a small hole off to the side that the wielder will fire through, you should do the same. Take advantage of that small hole by firing into it to kill the holder faster. 3) Elites: Are a very proud warrior race. They will usually be in command of a group of grunts and sometimes jackals. They are very strong and are "better" than humans in every aspect. They have a shield that covers their whole body. This shield is very strong and can be regenerated very quickly. They are very strong warriors and tacticians. They are only over ranked by prophets. Official Name: Sangheili Favorite Weapons: Plasma Rifle, Plasma Grenade, and Energy Sword Types: Minor Elite (blue) are the easiest of the Elites, but they are still quite hard. Their shield will go down quicker and take longer to charge. Major Elite (red) are the same as the Minor Elites only stronger and tougher. Their shields will take a tad longer to take off, and will regenerate a tad faster. Stealth Elite (gray/invisible) are the weakest of the bunch but are also very hard cause there invisibility. Specops Elite (black) are just plain harder than the Major Elites Ranger (jet pack) these guys aren't practically hard but flying around can make them a hard target. Zealot (Golden): are simply harder than the rest so far. Honor Guards (Golden Crown and suit) these are the hardest of the hard. They will all carry a sword that will be fatal in one blow. Killing Spree: Plasma Pistol + SMG, Sword, and Sniper Rifle. The easiest way to kill an Elite is to take its shield off with a charged Plasma Pistol shot then to finish them off with the SMG. Tips: Elites are color coded according to their rank. Being able to memorize the color code can help you a lot. It will allow you to know if you want to have a close combat with them or not. Wounding an Elite by taking off its shields will not do. They are very smart and once their shields go, they will try to find cover. You should always fire 'till you see them fall. A Plasma Pistol will take of their shields on one charged shot. Take advantage of this moment of no shields and kill them with your secondary or other handed weapon. Elites are about the only other enemy that will try to kill you with a melee attack. Their blows can be very devastating. Move out of the way of the attack and then go in for the kill with your own melee, Or shots to the back and head. 4) Drones: Are those hard to get little "buggers." They have hard to breach outer shells and the availability to fly, other than that there isn't much to them. Official Name: Yanme'e Favorite Weapon: Plasma Pistol, Needler Types: -- Killing Spree: Twin SMG's or Battle Rifle. Just follow them around with your cursor and wait for the right moment to strike. Tips: Drones have to every once in a while land on a roof or a wall and take a rest for a second. Take these seconds to pump them full of lead. 5) Hunters: Are the biggest and hardest to kill enemy. They are a made of basically a whole bunch of worm like creatures, united under their impenetrable armor. Their weapon is a giant modified Fuel Rod Cannon. The modified cannon has the ability to fire continuously. These can make a fair opponent for even the most well trained Spartans. Official Name: Lekgolo Favorite Weapon: Modified Fuel Rod Cannon Types: -- Killing Spree: Twin Pistols, Rocket Launcher, or a Turret. If you get behind one of these "giants" you should shoot for its orange patches of unprotected skin. Tips: Trying to kill a Hunter face on is suicidal and stupid. There armor is so strong that nothing will get through them without taking an hour on it. Even grenades to the face won't make much of a difference. If you look closely on a Hunter you will find orange spots over its body. These spots are it's week spots. Aim for these for a quick easy kill. You will find these spots on the neck (NOTE: they tend to tilt there heads forward making this an impossible shot), stomach (which is usually covered with their giant shield), and on there back. One way to kill them is to let them charge you, once there about a meter in front of you sidestep at the last moment. Then put a lot of well placed shots into its orange spots. Another way to kill them is, use a sniper rifle from long distance and take well placed shots into his neck and back. If you've got the guts you can run up to one and shoot it in the stomach or back. But this is a very difficult procedure to do. You have to have a death wish to do it. One of the easiest ways to kill them is to shoot them with a turret. This will take them out very fast. This is harder to do on harder difficult levels. 6) Brutes: Until now we have had no run-ins with these "gorillas." In a recent power shift Brutes are now leading the fight against humanity. These furry creatures are very strong and have great stamina. There weapons differ slightly from those of the Covenants. For example the Brute Shot shoots a grenade much like the human grenade. Official Name: Jiralhanae Favorite Weapons: Brute Plasma Rifle, Brute Shot Types: Minor Brute, these are the infantry of the brute species and expendable. Major Brutes, Are much tougher, stronger, and have even more stamina than the Minor Brutes Brute Captains, These guys are the same as Major Brutes only they have more commanding powers then the others. Honor Guard Brutes, These are the worst of the brutes in every way. They are the ones who are supposed to keep the prophets safe. Killing Spree: Carbine and Shotgun. When raged, these apes can be a handful to kill. They will tend to try to kill you with melee attacks if you get to close. They are the only other enemy that will melee you besides the Elites and Hunters. A few shotgun shells should do the trick to this enemy. If you are the Arbiter make sure not to forget about your invisibility cloak, it can come in handy when trying to come in range for a sword into the back. Tips: When aiming for a head shot don't hit the metal plates that some of them ware it wont do anything but let them know that you there. The last remaining Brute of the group will go nuts. They will usually throw there weapon and try to kill you with charging. This is sort of good and bad for you. If you can't seem to dodge out of the way it's a bad thing. If you can dodge and swipe them or shoot them in the back it's a good and easy way to kill them. 7) Prophets: Are the leaders of the Covenant race and religion. Very little is known about these prophets. They are guarded by honor guards who will die for them in any circumstance. Official Name: Prophets Favorite Weapon: Super sentinel beam Types: Prophet of Truth, Prophet of Mercy, and the Prophet of Regret. B) Flood! 1a) Infection Form: Are the little flying slug things you'll see coming at you. These things will take over the dead body of a Human or Covenant. Killing Spree: Twin SMG's. If it's a group just shoot it into the little bast***s. Tips: Decapitating a dead body with a sword will render the body useless the flood infection form. If its just one of these guys it wont do any real damage to your shield, it's a waist of ammo to shoot it. Let it hit you or you can melee if you're good enough. This may take some practice to get this right. 2a) Combat Form: These would be the ones that the infection forms turn into once they have commandeered a body. These guys will take a lot of hits before they go down. They feel no pain so the melee's don't even touch them. Sniper Rifle and other fast shooting weapon will pass right through them with out damaging. Killing Spree: Sword, Shotgun, and Sentinel beam. Swords will take these freaks out with one hit. That is what I recommend. If you're too scared to go in close, stay back with a Sentinel Beam and take them out with long accurate shots. Tips: Just stay out of the way of a group of them. Use the sword and shotgun a lot. Don't use any plasma or sniper weapons on them. Give them heck. 8) Weapon to Enemy: This is where you can look to find out which weapons work best on which enemy. These will also tell you what kind of weapons you might want for a certain spot in the game. (NOTE: these are also put under Killing Spree on the Enemy guide) Grunts: Twin SMG's Jackals: Rocket Launcher, Grenades, Sniper Rifle Elites: Plasma Pistol + SMG, Plasma Grenade Drones: Twin SMG's or Battle Rifle Hunters: Rocket Launcher, Turret, Sniper Rifle Brutes: Carbine, Sword, Shotgun Prophets: No weapon will really hurt them you will have to board them and kill them with melees Flood Infection Form: Twin SMG's Flood Combat From: Sword, Shotgun, Sentinel Beam Thank you for reading this FAQ this took me a while to write and I would rather you asked before you took the material and asked if you could use it.
