Welcome to this FAQ. I must note that this FAQ is an automated conversion into TXT for a FAQ that is originally written in HTML. Therefore this version may not contain the full setup the FAQ was written in. If I would have used some screenshots to make my point acros they will (of course) not be visible here. The reason you probably see this FAQ is because you accessed it from a site that does not allow to write FAQs in HTML. If you want to see the true version of this FAQ with everything shown as it should, please access the FAQ from http://faq.tbbs.nl First of all a quick note on how I write FAQs/Walkthroughs. I live with the idea that playing a game from start to finish constantly checking a walkthrough beside you is NOT gaming. Therefore I try to set up my FAQs that way that you only have to check my guide if you are hopelessly stuck (which happens even to the best gamers). For that very reason I index my FAQ pretty thouroughly. Please check out in the index which part of the game you are stuck in. Then take note of the number written behind the section. Open a search request (Ctrl-F in Windows and most Linux distros, Command-F (or Apple-F) if you like on MacOS X. If you use a Windows Keyboard on a Mac it's WindowsLogo-F). Put the number in there and search and you should hit the section the explanation of your problem is written in. Then a quick note on symbols much lines begin with in this FAQ - If you see this, it means you just entered a new room. Much RPGs and adventure games have their dungeons (and towns) divided in such rooms. You'll quickly pick up what I mean by "room". Some games (like Wild Arms 3,4,5 and Alter Code F) have their rooms numbered and shown for you to see. If this FAQ handles such a game I will use that number in stead so you can search your problem A LOT easier. = You will also see a lot that start with this mark = That that I'm just summing up what you must do in that room action by action. This way you have (in my humble opinion) the best view on what you must do. Basically that covers everything. ============================================================================= Index ============================================================================= General stuff Introduction ............................................... END00000002 GEN00000002 ============================================================================= Playing this game in modern times ============================================================================= This game is an oldie. Therefore I recommend emulators in order to play the game. What I must note though is that this game is a CD-ROM game containing two discs. Not all emulators support disc changes, especially not when the host in UNIX based (like Linux or MacOS X). But never fear the solution is here. The emulator I recommend is ScummVM which can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.scummvm.org Download and install it. Then create a folder on your harddrive and copy ALL datafiles from both discs in that folder and direct ScummVM into that folder. That should do the trick. GEN00000003 ============================================================================= Mega Monkey??? ============================================================================= The game has two settings. Normal and Mega-Monkey. Mega-Monkey is basically the same as normal only a few puzzles have been rendered harder and sometimes there are even a few more added. When you play this game for the first time I recommend the normal mode (which is really hard on itself. Don't confuse it with the easy mode in Monkey Island 2). If you completed that and you want to play it again with a challenge, the Mega-Monkey is a very nice one. Most puzzles are the same, only a few puzzles are harder or more expanded. So you may still get stuck in Mega-Monkey even after completing normal mode. I decided to make this Walkthrough in two versions in this very file. The first version is about the normal mode, the second version handles the Mega-Monkey mode. GEN00000004 ============================================================================= Planned updates ============================================================================= This is the first set up of this FAQ. A few updates have been planned - First of all, making sure that all sword fighting insults are covered. - If there are any errors, they will (of course) be fixed. - A few screenshots might be added to the HTML version of this FAQ (but no promises there yet). DK100000001 ============================================================================= Part One: Demise of the Zombie Pirate LeChuck ============================================================================= Objective: Escape from this ship ============================================================================= Well, after the introduction we begin the game in trouble immediately. Starting the game on a ship of LeChuck's is quite impressive eh? Well, no use moping about it. Let's get to work on how to get outta here :) - = Pick up the ramrod from the wall = Talk to Wally (the small pirate) Now say the next things to him = I'm Guybrush Threepwood, who are you? = Can I borrow you cannon for moment = I'm not in the mood for sales hype (Wally will give you some literature) = You're a failure as a pirate = Peep = Word Oh my god.... Poor Wally..... = Take the hook Wally dropped = Put the hook on the ramrod = Use the Cannon - You can aim the cannon with your mouse and shoot with the left mouse button. Just destroy all ships you see here. That should teach them! - Try to move out of the Window - = Use the ramrod+hook on that bone in the swimming tube (you'll get yourself a sword) = Go back - = Use the sword to cut the cannon loose = Fire the cannon Well just as always it appears to have made your situation worse. - = Pick up the bag = Pick up the diamond ring that's now revealed = Use the ring to cut the little window (oops) DK100000002 ============================================================================= Part Two: The Curse got Worse ============================================================================= Objectives: First talk to the Voodoo Lady, then get yourself a boat and get yourself, a crew to sail it (three pirates will make that "crew") and a map of blood island. ============================================================================= Life's never easy, eh? - = Pick up a glowing ember from the beach = Exit East or west - Go to the "?" spot in the center of the swap - Enter the house (Murray the talking skull will interupt you. Just say whatever you like and end the conversation). - = Put a coin into the gum machine to get yourself a pack of gum = Pull the reptiles tongue to summon the voodoo lady = Tell her that you like what she's done with the place = Say what you want when she proposes to show you pictures of children = When she asks where you hid Elaine it doesn't matter what you say. Well, Elaine's kidnapped, but don't worry getting her back is just part of the process when you go for you objectives in general. = Ask the Voodoo Lady where to find a diamond ring = Respond to the prediction of your death any way you want = Say "Blood Island, here I come!" = End the conversation (unless you want some hints from the Voodoo Lady) = Remove the pin sticking out one of the voodoo dolls = Leave the place - Exit the swamp - Go to the village - Well, this village has multiple entrances so you can end up in different areas. If you aren't there yet, make your way to the town square. = Enter the church from the side entrance - = Remove the glove from the suit = Take the magic wand from the table = Use the wand on the hat = Take the book out of it = Take the dandruff from the coat (woah... it appears to be lice) = Exit the building - Enter the barber shop = When the big pirate drops the comb quickly put the lice on it = Sit into the barber char = Use the handle on the chair (Guybrush will remove the stone from the book) = Now use the handle three times = Remove the scissors from the ceiling = Remove the jawbreaker from the floor = Slap the glove into the left pirate's face and he'll challenge you to a duel - When you may choose your weapon, close the gun cases and choose the banjo - Now the principal of this "battle" is easy. You don't have to watch the notes that are played quickly. The game just focuses on a few notes. When Guybrush has to play, just play the same notes as the pirate did. Do this three times and you "win" the battle = Now take a gun from one of the cases = Use it to shoot your opponent's banjo Well, now you recruited your first crew member. Way to go. - Leave the barber shop - Move to the west, beside the house of the kid selling lemonade is a bush. = Use the scissors to cut the flower from that bush = Use the scissors again to cut a way through - You'll automatically end up in a new location. As soon as you try anything you'll be eaten by a snake. Since you cannot die in a LucasArts game, you can guess this is what was supposed to happen :) = Inside the snake is some stuff. Pick it all up = Put the mysterious flower in the can of syrup you should now have = Use the mixture you now created on the snake's head (time to PUUUUUUKE!) - Well getting out of the quicksand is can be a confusing experience. First of all ignore the chicken. It won't help you. = Get the reed from the right of you (left if you take it from Guybrush' view). = Take a thorn from the thorny plant = Use the torn on the reed = Use the balloon on the stone you stole from the barbershop = Blow the balloon (you can do that with the "talk" icon) = Use the reed on the ballon, and you'll find yourself an exit - You'll end up in a small bay. For now you got nothing to do here (you got a reservation slip for the chicken restaurant, and that's currently all that matters). So leave this place and go back to Puerto Pollo. - Enter the chicken restaurant - = Say "Of course I have a reservation!" when the attendant asks for it = Remove the club card from the leftovers on the table = Push the "guest" at the table for a funny cameo on Grim Fandango (too bad that game's written in Lua and thus not supported by ScummVM, at least not on the moment I wrote this FAQ). = Remove the knife from his back = Take a biscuit from the barrel = Offer the attendant the jawbreaker = Now offer him the bubblegum = When he blows a bubble sting it with the pin = Pick up the gold tooth = Leave the restaurant - Go to the barbershop - = Give the tooth to the middle pirate and you got crew member #2 = Leave the barber shop - Go to the beach - = Show your membership card to the cabana boy = Take as many towels as the game allows you to = Put the towers in the icy water bucket on the cart = Exit north - = Try to move over the beach (OUCH!!! too hot that is) = Use your wet towers to create a path across (don't worry about those towels burning. You don't need that way out anymore). - = Remove the mug from the man's belly = Open the gate = Leave - Go to Puerto Pollo - = Go to the lemonade selling kid = Swap the mug you just obtained with the kid's mug = Give the kid a wooden nickle in order to order a drink = Pick up the pitcher = Use the pitcher on the dye vats to fill it = Leave Puerto Pollo and go back to the cabana - = Take another tower = Make it wet with the water bucket = Use it on the cabana boy to make him go away = Pick up the oil = Leave this area - You got a direct way to Brimstone Beach now. Use it - = Put the bottomless mug on the man's belly = Use the pitcher on the mug = Use the oil on the man's back = Pick up the map from his back (this is disguisting, I tell ya) = Okay, all done here, leave - Go to the log throwing area (through the archway from the town square). = Go to the grassy knoll - = Use the knife with the sawhorse = Use the glowing ember with the rum trail - Go to the barbershop - = Speak to the right pirate = Ask him to join your crew = Propose whatever you like and he'll challenge you to a caber-toss match. = Accept his challenge Well, that makes crew member #3 - Leave town and go back to the bay you ended up after you snake-quicksand adventure (Danjer Cove) - Use the boat - Row to the ship - = Saw of the plank with the bread knife = Board the ship - You'll be caught by a pirate. No matter what you say he'll want to punish you. He'll cover you with tar and feathers and well, er... there it ends.... (DUH!) You'll automatically leave the ship. - Go back to Puerto Pollo - Enter the chicken restaurant - Well, say to the attendant what you like and well, something odd will happen. Anyway you'll end up on the pirate ship.... = Read the book to LeChimp = Remove the map from the jar = Leave the ship and go back to Puerto Pollo - Enter the church on the side entrance - Go up the stairs - Just pull the lever (you can press those buttons, but they only serve a purpose in the MEGA-MONKEY setting). - = Use the chicken grease on the cannon balls = Exit east - Pick up the shovel and you'll get Elaine back DK200000001 ============================================================================= Part Three: Three sheets to the Wind ============================================================================= Objective: Defeat Captain Rottingham to get your stolen map back ============================================================================= Well, this part is not to be written out as the previous parts. Captain Rottingham will steal the map of Blood Island. The way to get it back is through sword fighting (I won't put much notes on that song, just say what you want and the song will end eventually). Here goes the drill. Attack a ship (how difficult that is depends on what answer you gave when Haggis asks what kind of captain you are), try to shoot it and a battle will ignite. Every time you win a battle you can win loot. With that loot you go to Puerto Pollo and buy a better cannon. And so the game goes on until you can challenge Rottingham. The fighting goes with insults. All who played the first Monkey Island game know the drill, but since all insults must rhyme now the battles. When the insult is responded to correctly you get advantage if not then you get disadvantage, until we got a winner. You need to fight a lot of pirates in order to learn insults and their responses. Once you made it to fighting Rottingham things will be different as Rottingham uses different insults. Let's get over to the insults and their responses: INSULT: Every enemy I've met I've annihilated ROTTINGHM: My attacks have left entire islands depopulated ANSWER: With your breath I'm sure they all suffocated INSULT: You're as repulsive as a monkey in a negligee ROTTINGHM: You have the sex-apeal of a Shar-Pei ANSWER: I look THAT much like your fiancee? INSULT: Killing you would be justifiable homicide! ROTTINGHM: ? ANSWER: Then killing you must be justifiable fungicide. INSULT: You're the ugliest monster ever created ROTTINGHM: Your looks would make pigs nauseated ANSWER: If you don't count the ones you've dated INSULT: I've never seen such clumsy swordplay OTTINGHSM: I've never lost a melee ANSWER: You would, but you were always running way INSULT: I'll leave you devistated, mutilated and perforated ROTTINGHM: I can't tell which of my traits has you most intimidated ANSWER: Your odor alone makes me aggravated, agitated and infuriated INSULT: When your father first saw you he must have been mortified ROTTINGHM: You're a disgrace to your species, you're indignified! ANSWER: At least mine can be identified INSULT: You can't match my witty repartee! ROTTINGHM: Nothing can stop me from blowing you away! ANSWER: I could, if you would use some breath spray. INSULT: Heaven preserve me! You look like something that's died ROTTINGHM: Nothing on this earth can save your sorry hide! ANSWER: The only way you'll be preserved is in formaldehyde INSULT: I'll skewer you, like a sow at a buffet! ROTTINGHM: Your lips look like they belong on the catch of the day ANSWER: When I'm done with YOU, you'll be a boneless fillet. INSULT: En garde! Touche! ROTTINGHM: Your mother wears a toupee ANSWER: Oh, that is so cliche INSULT: I can't rest 'til you've been exterminated ROTTINGHM: Your stench would make an outhouse cleaner irritated ANSWER: Then perpahs you should switch to decaffeinated. INSULT: Would you like to be buried or cremated? ROTTINGHM: I give you a choice. You can be gutted or decapitated! ANSWER: With you around, I'd prefer to be fumigated INSULT: I'll hound you night and day! ROTTINGHM: You'll find I'm dogged and relentless to my prey! ANSWER: Then be a good dog! Sit! Stay! INSULT: Throughout the Caribbean, my great deeds are celebrated ROTTINGHM: My skills with a sword are highly venerated ANSWER: Too bad they're all fabricated INSULT: Coming face to face with me must leave you petrified ROTTINGHM: Never before have I faced someone so sissified ANSWER: Is that your face? I thought it was your backside. DK200000002 ============================================================================= Part Four: The bartender, the thieves, his aunt and her lover ============================================================================= Objective: Obtain a huge diamond ring to lift Elaine's curse ============================================================================= Okay, well, you made your way to Blood Island. The objective is easily described. Just find the ring you need to save Elaine, but this game wouldn't be an adventure game if you don't need to do a lot of crap before you can actually do such a simple thing. Well the first thing that'll happen is that your crew officially starts a mutiny, but that's no big deal, actually, as you don't really need them anymore. Let's just get this show on the road. - = Try to get the bottle of lotion (Haggis will deny you permission) = Talk to Haggis and mention the lotion. Haggis will still refuse. = Ask him to have the the lotion (He'll refuse again, but make you a deal and that deal must be mentioned to unlock some needed parts later in this chapter). = Leave this spot - On the world map, go to the castle-like building in the center of the map. It's actually a hotel, but the game marks all locations as "?" at this point. - Enter the building - = Talk to the fortune teller = Introduce yourself and ask her name = Ask her what's in the cards of you = Pick up the cards she drops on the table = Pick up the brochures from the counter = Pick up the recipe book from the counter = Pick up the cushion from the stool most left = Pick up the tip jar = Exit through the north door - = Pick up the "Big Whoop" magnet from the fridge = Exit - Go back to the worldmap and go to the graveyard next to the hotel. - Go all the way until you see a sleeping dog - = Pick up the chisel = Pick up the hammer = Pick up the doggy treat = Give them to the dog (he'll bite you) = Remove some of its fur = Go back to the hotel and enter - Go to the back room - = Use the chisel to get a piece of cheese of the big cheese wheel = Leave the hotel and go to the bay - = Put the cusion under the tree = Hit the tree with the hammer (the egg will fall down and Guybrush picks it up automatically) = Leave this place - Go to the windmill (on the left hill) - = Pick up the pepper plant = Leave and go back to the hotel - Enter - = Give the pepper to the bartender = Give the dog hair to the bartender = Give the egg to the bartender Ok, you now cured the bartender from his hangover. He'll give you the leftover of the medicine he needed for that. You can now go into a conversation with him and if you don't want to do everything with my walkthrough I suggest you do so. You'll get quite some hints in how to solve this part. = Order a drink (you'll get an umbrella with it you need later = Use the chisel to open the bottle of Head-B-Clear = Use the Head-B-Clear with the drink you ordered = Drink it up You WILL die (despite the fact that you normally can't die in a LucasArts game), but this doesn't mean "game over", so doncha worry. - Well you'll end up in a crypt. Let's get this going, shall we? = Open the coffin with your chisel. = Remove the nails from your coffin = Open the coffien in the middle with in the same manner (AAARGH, NOT HIM!!!) = Well, leave the crypt - Leave the graveyard, come back and enter the crypt again which is now Stan's office. - = Speak to Stan and tell him your interested in getting a policy = Offer the golden tooth when Stan asks for payment = Leave now and go back to the hotel - = Talk to the bartender again and ask about the story about the big ring of Blood Island = Say that you expected to be buried with his aunt = "Don't you recognize me?" = Make up any name you want. = End your converstation = Go up stairs - Enter the first room (with the closed door) - = Use the mallet on the nail (hard to spotm look well to see it) = Leave this room - = Pick up the nail beside the falling painting = Enter the room at the end of the corridor - = Pull down the bed = Nail it to the floor = Use one more nail to nail it to the floor definitely = Pick up the book you see on the skeleton = Go back downstairs - = Speak to the bartender and talk about Goodsoup history (now you'll be accepted as an official member of the Goodsoup family. Time to die again) = Order a drink = Put the Head-B-Clear into it = Drink it and DIE!!! - Well as you are an official member of Goodsoup now you'll be buried in the Goodsoup family crypt. Well time to get some shows on the road now = Go all the way south = You'll find a spirit in a wedding gown. Talking to her may give you some hints in how to proceed, but it's not required to finish the game. = Exit west - = Move forward and Murray will bug you = Pick him up = Pick up the crowbar from the grave = Look into the crack - = Pick up the lamp using the skeletal arm - = Use the lamp on Murray = Leave the crypt and the graveyard - Go to the hotel - Go to the backroom - = Pick up the death certificate = Leave this room and go to the room with the skeleton in bed - = Use the crowbar to open the boarded hole = Use the crowbar to remove the nails that holds the bed in place - You'll end up in the Goodsoup grave = Pick up the ring = Leave the crypt - Enter Stan's - = Give the Death Certificate to Stan in order to get "a lot of money". = Leave - Go to the "Strange Lights" - = Pick up the measuring cup = Pick up the auger = Get the block of tofu = Use the chisel on it to create a mask = Wear that mask = Exit north - Talk to Lemonhead - Throw a bit of cheese into the lava - Go back to the Goodsoup hotel - = Put the cheese in the pot on the barbecue = Pick up the pot (this only works if you made the deal with Haggis at the start of this chapter. If you didn't go to the beach first to make that deal and then come back for it) - = Pick up the lotion = Pick up the bottle = Use the pin on the cork you now have = Leave - Go to the windmill - = Open the door and enter the mill = Use the measuring cup on the barrel to fill it = Use the BIG-WHOOP magnet to magnetize your pin in cork = Put the pin-in-cork in the cup of water to create a compass = Fill the empty jar with water = Leave and go to "?"-spot next to the shipwreck - Well, this is where Elaine is now. = First use the chisel put make holes in the jar lid = Put the jar of suger-water on the treestump to lure the fireflies = Put the lid on the jar = Leave Elaine for now and go to the beach - At the far north here is a lighthouse. Go there - = Use the jar with fireflies with the lantern post = Go back down onto the beach - Hey there's a ferryman now = Give the compass to the ferryman = Ask him for a ride to skull island - Well your time on Skull Island is not long. In fact you'll be back on Blood Island in flash. So let's get this over with. = Talk to the attendant and ask him to lower you down to smuggler's cave = Use your umbrella while you are falling and you'll end up in the cave - Well, let's handle these pirates, shall we... = I have go so much money, it's almost embarrassing = Threepwood. Guybrush Threepwood. = I don't get it = Maybe we could make a deal = Sounds fun! Deal me in, baldy. = (Whatever you say now, Guybrush will claim he trusts them). Okay, now you are speaking their language. Time to cheat. Use the tarot cards you stole from Madame Xima and you'll win. Well after all this you'll back on Blood Island. And if you in fact DID all my FAQ then all preparations are complete now. Let's go visit Elaine - = Use the lotion to get Elaine's cursed ring removed = Use the diamond on the ring in order to fix it = Get the ring on Elaine's finger and watch and enjoy the show DK200000003 ============================================================================= Part Five: Kiss of the spider monkey ============================================================================= Objective: Make the Head-B-Clear potion once more in order to lift the curse LeChuck casts on you. ============================================================================= Well, this part is a shorty. First of all we're gonna have to hear all LeChuck's stories. Just say whatever you want, sooner or later LeChuck will get tired of you "childish behavior" and turn you into a little kid. And your objective is solely to create Head-B-Clear in order to dispell that one. Could be done in only a few minutes, trust me. - = Open the door = You'll automatically exit east - = Push Dinghy Dog until he bites you (you'll automatically get some hair from him). = Talk to Dinghy Dog = Ask him about winning prizes = Challenge him to guess your age = Request the anchor as your prize = Pick up the anchor = Put the anchor in one of the pies (enjoy the show that gets the mime away). = Open the gate = Look through the hole to get a pie shot at you = Go to the icecream wagon on the east and talk to its tender = Put the pie stuff on the snowcone = Put the dog hair on the snowcone = Get the pepper mill from the wagon and pour some pepper over the cone = Eat the cone. All done.... NEXT!!! DK200000004 ============================================================================= Part Six: Guybrush kicks butt, once again ============================================================================= Objective: Defeat LeChuck to win the game ============================================================================= This chapter is very short and easy, but still a very annoying one nonetheless. The coaster carriage you're in is your transportation to all locations. You can hop out of it whever you want and wait for another one to go to another location. The annoying part is, that LeChuck pops up when you remain longer in one location of one or two minutes forcing you to leave. You can still come back but it slows things down terribly. Let's get this show on the road. - Go to the spot where you see LeChuck torturing Guybrush = Pick up the oil lamp next to Wally = That covers it here for now. - Go to the Herman Toothrot spot (thank goodness we didn't meet the REAL Toothrot in this game). = Get the rope and leave - Go to the pirate ship spot = Get a keg of rum = Leave - Go to the icy part = Go all the way up (once there you won't meet LeChuck anymore until you go back down). = Use the keg of rum on the big ape = Use the oil on the rope = Use the rope on the rum keg = Go back down and wait for LeChuck to appear = When you get the chance to use the pepper mill on him. CONGRATULATIONS!YOU COMPLETED THE CURSE OF MONKEY ISLAND! Watch and enjoy the show MM100000001 ============================================================================= Part One: Demise of the Zombie Pirate LeChuck (MEGA-MONKEY) ============================================================================= Objective: Escape from LeChuck's ship ============================================================================= Well, here goes.... Let's MEGA-MONKEY (Not that this part is so much different). - Speak to the little guy and say: = I'm Guybrush Threepwood, who are you? = Can I borrow your cannon for a second = I'm not in the mood for Sales Hype = You're a failure as a pirate = Peep = Word Well that sorts him out = Use the cannon - You can aim with the mouse and shoot with the left mouse button. Shoot out all bows with undead pirates - Look through the window - That skull (called Murray) is nice, but you got no business with him = Use the hook on the ramrod = Use the hook on ramrod to fish out the bone in the swimming tube = Go back into the ship - = Use the cutlass to cut the cannon loose = Fire the cannon - = Pick up the bag of wooden nickles = Pick up the diamond ring = Use the diamond ring to cut open the window Well, if you played the normal mode, you could already make out that this part was EXACTLY the same in MEGA-MONKEY mode, but NOW the real work begins. MM100000002 ============================================================================= Part Two: The Curse gets Worse (MEGA-MONKEY) ============================================================================= Objective: First speak to the Voodoo Lady (and Elaine will disappear). Get a ship, get a crew, get a map of Blood Island and get Elaine back. ============================================================================= - = Pick up the glowing ember = Exit any way you want - Go to the swamp in the center of the island - Enter the building (just break of that silly conversation with Murray as soon as you can). - = Pick up the pin from the toy voodoo doll = Pick up the paste = Use a wooden nickle on the gum machine to get yourself some bubble gum = Pull the reptile's tongue The voodoo lady will now appear. Let's chat with her = Nice place. I love what you've done with it. = Just say whatever you want when she asks if you want to see some pictures = Reply in any manner you want when she asks where you hid Elaine = Where am I going to find a huge, uncursed diamond ring? = Reply any way you want to the prediction you will die = Blood Island, here I come! = Thanks for your help. I've got to go! With the end of this conversation, you've ended your business here, as well. Repeat them all. The rules are the same as in normal mode, in this mode you only got to play a few more notes in a few more sequences that's all - = Pick up a gun from the gun boxes = Shoot VanHelgen's banjo - Leave the barber's shop - = Go to the bushes next to the lemonade selling boy (Kenny) = Use the scissors to cut of a flower = Use the scissors again to cut a path through the bushes - = Make any move at all to get yourself eaten by a snake = Pick up all stuff you can get from inside the snake = Put the ipecac in the syrup = Poor the mixture on the snake's head - = Use the paperweight on the balloon = Blow against the balloon (talk icon) = Pick up the reed to the right of you = Pick up a thorn from the bush = Use the pea shooter on the balloon - You'll end up in Danjer cove, but there's nothing you can do there for now, so leave the place and go back to Puerto Pollo. - Go to the chicken restaurant - = Say you got a reservation slip when the attendant asks for it = Push the man at the table = Remove the knife from his back = Get a buscuit from the barrel = Eat it (you'll get some maggots) = Use the maggots on the chicken on the table = Get the club card from the chicken = Offer the attendant the jawbreaker = Offer him some gum = Sting the gum with the pin with he blows it out = Pick up the tooth = Chew some gum = Put the tooth in it = Use the talk icon on the helium balloon = Eat the gum with tooth (it will float out of the window) = Pick up the piepan (at the hatch to the left) = Pick up the buscuit cutter = Leave the restaurant - = Use the pie pan on the mud puddle = Go to the barber shop - = Show the gold tooth to the middle pirate (Cuttroat Bill) = Leave the barbershop - Go to the caber-tossing area (though the archway) - Go to the grassy knoll - = Use the breadknife with the sawhorse = Use the ember on stick on the rum trail = Talk to Haggis = Ask him to join your crew = Accept his challenge to caber-tossing = Leave the barber shop and go to the cabana beach - = Show the club card to the cabana boy = Pick up three towers = Use the towels in the water bucket = Slap the cabana boy with a towel to make him go away = Take the cooking oil = Exit north - = Move north and Guybrush will go back = Use the towels to make a path across - = Pick up the mug from the man's belly = Open the gate = Exit through it and go to Puerto Pollo - = Go to Kenny (The lemonade selling boy) = Switch your mug with his one = Talk to Kenny and order a drink = Pick up the pitcher once Kenny leaves = Fill the pitcher with dye (in the barrels beside the house). = Go to Brimstone Beach - = Put the (bottomless) mug on the man's belly = Pour the red dye in the bottomless mug (the man will turn on his back) = Put the cooking oil on the man's back = Pick up the map from the man's back = Leave - Go to the caber-tossing area in Puerto-Pollo - = Use the biscuit cutter on a rubber tree = Leave and go to Danjer Cove - = Put some paste on the rubber plug = Use the plug to fix the boat = Use the boat - = Saw the plank off with the bread knife = Board the ship - Say what you want, you'll always leave covered in tar in feathers - Leave Danjer Cove and go to Puerto Pollo - Enter the restaurant for some strange events and you'll end up in the captain's hut of the pirate ship in Danjer Cove - = Read the book to Captain LeChimp (If you missed it you can open the window to get out to get it anyway. During all this you'll automatically get a map to where Elaine is buried. = Nothing to do here so go outside and leave (open the window and climb out of it). - Go to Puerto Pollo - Enter the 'church' from the side entrance - Go upstairs - = Look at the treasure map. Make note of all the directions (best to write them down, they are different every playthrough so I cannot help you on that part) = Now press the buttons according to the directions in the same order. South is middle lower button and South east is lower right button and so on. When it says 2 paces it means you have to push that button twice. Easy, huh? Oh yeah, the handle has only function in the normal mode. It has no function at all in the Mega-Monkey mode as far as I found out). - = Put chicken grease on the cannon balls = Exit east = Pick up the shovel and you'll dig up Elaine MM200000001 ============================================================================= Part Two: Three Sheets to the Wind (MEGA-MONKEY) ============================================================================= Well, this part is not to be written out as the previous parts. MM200000002 ============================================================================= Part Four: The bartender, the thieves, his aunt and her lover (MEGA-MONKEY) ============================================================================= Objective: Obtain a huge diamond ring to lift Elaine's curse ============================================================================= - = Talk to Haggis and ask him about the lotion and get him to make you a deal (that deal is important later in this chapter). = Pick up the bottle = Bite the cork of it = Exit west - Go to the Hotel at the center of this island - Enter the Hotel - = Talk to the fortune teller = Introduce yourself = Ask her what's in the cards for you (She'll drop a card "Death") = Ask her to read the cards again (and repeat that until she dropped 5 cards) = Pick up the cards = Pick up the cushion from the most left stool = Leave the Hotel and go to the graveyard - Make your way until you find a sleeping dog - = Give him the maggotty biscuit (that you still got from Part II) and the dog will bite you = Pick up his hair = Pick up the mallet and the chisel = Leave the graveyard and go to the beach - = Put the cushion under the tree with egg = Hit the tree with the mallet (and you'll get the egg) = Leave and go to the windmill (west of the map) - = Get a piece of the pepper plant = As the mill is locked in Mega-Monkey mode let's leave for now ;) - Go to the hotel and enter - = Give the bartender the pepper = Give the bartender the smelly dog hair = Give the bartender the egg = Order a drink (doesn't matter what you order, as long as it's a drink) = Use the chisel to open the Head-B-Clear = Use the Head-B-Clear on the drink (on the bar) = Drink up - Well you will 'die', but that's not Game Over (as LucasArts has a policy against that), you will end up in a grave. = Use the chisel to open your coffin = Get the nails out of your coffin = Use the chisel to open the center coffin (when you see who comes out, you'd really wish you didn't have to) = Leave the graveyard and come back here and Stan will have made the place his office = Talk to Stan = Say you want to buy some insurance = Offer him the gold tooth = Go to the Hotel - = Order a drink = 'Give me a big, fruity drink with an umbrella in it' (you'll get an umbrella) = Pick up the empty jar = Go upstairs - Open the door at the front - = Use the hammer to knock out the nail in the wall = Leave this room - = Pick up the nail = Pick up the portrait = Use Stan's card to unlock the door in the back = Open it = Enter the room - = Pull down the bed = Use the nails to nail it down = Use the extra nail on the bed. = Pick up the book from the skeleton = Go back to the corridor - = Use the scissors on the portrait = Stick the portrait on the door in front = Enter the room - = Look through the window in the door = Leave the room and go downstairs - = Talk to the bartender = "I don't believe we've met. The coaster carriage you're in is your transportation to all locations. You can hop out of it whever you want and wait for another one to go to another location. The annoying part is, that LeChuck pops up when you remain longer in one location of one or two minutes forcing you to leave. You can still come back but it slows things down terribly. It's there because GameFAQs and other FAQ sites hosting my FAQ require it, but as with all e-mail addresses shown to the public on a website. It's completely full of spam, and I can NEVER guarantee how long it will take to read your mail, if I ever see it at all. I tend to change that adress on a regular ocasion in order to bother spammers. And thus I recommend that you go to my own website at http://faq.tbbs.nl and use the contact system the site has in place there. It will ALWAYS send your mail to an active mail address. Furthermore there are some mails that I regulary get and to which I "cba" to respond to them. Here is what I got to say if you got to tell me this: MAIL: You know nothing of [game X] REPLY: Indeed, that's why I wrote a FAQ on it! You also got something INTELLIGENT to say? MAIL: Fix your English! REPLY: If I spoke my own language you probably couldn't read it at all. MAIL: Not to be rude, but your list doesn't cover even half of what it should cover REPLY: Such mails are worthless unless you give me the items I should add. I'l even credit you for your trouble MAIL: Hadsdajdkaskldandiwjoiudaojiwoidjowaijdw! REPLY: Me not understand! I only speak English and Dutch I will accept German, but I'll reply in English MAIL: I got the best viagra for sale REPLY: If I would actually NEED that stuff, I'd go to a pharmacy! Thank you for your trouble. MAIL: Your boss strategy doesn't work, dick! REPLY: Then send me yours, dick! MAIL: Some bosses you brand hard are easy. Some gamer you are! REPLY: On paper one's always more careful than in reality! I always take so-called "noobs" in mind when I write my FAQs. MAIL: You suck in levelling up! REPLY: You need to level up? Some gamer you are! There are two things I hate. Wasting time and cheating!Constant levelling up falls in both categories in my humble opionion Okay that's the kind of mail I don't wish to get, and which I already replied to by now. I do understand that you don't agree with me on some points, or that I forgot the cover parts. I'm human, errors are as much my nature as they are yours. If you find some errors, mail me in a civil way and I will update my FAQ (when I got the time) and credit you for your trouble. That's the way I work. No need to get offensive, is there?
