Welcome to my first FAQ/Walkthrough. As stated in the title above, i'm writing this FAQ to help you complete Call of Duty 3 on PS2. This has taken me somewhere around 4 days to complete this. Move your cursor with the L (Left analog stick) or the AP (Arrow pad) and make your selection, then confirm with X or START. to cancel or return to a previous menu press T (Triangle). These controls apply to all menus. How to start a game: There are 2 ways to start the game from the main menu, 'single player' and 'multi player'. Select the 'single player' option. Now you will see 3 more options which are 'new game, continue and chapter select'. Since this is your first time playing, select 'new game'. Yous should then go through to the game. Choosing a Difficulty level: The first time you choose the 'new game' option you will be asked to choose your difficulty level. Depending on your past gaming experience and what you expect to come, be sure to choose the level that will best suit you. How to Save: You will only be able to manually save your game at the end of each mission, though when you start with the 'new game' option you will see a message and an icon in the middle of the screen that looks like a metal case with an arrow pointing to it. this message is telling you that it is autosaving. Make sure you read this message before proceeding. How to Load: Loading your game is easy. You have 2 options: You can either start from the last saved checkpoint or start from the beginning of the chapter. To start from the last saved checkpoint select the 'continue' option from under new game. To start from the beginning of the chapter select 'chapter select' from under new game also. [CAT] __ |CONTROLS AND TOOLS Button Configuration: Command In Menus On Foot Vehicles AP (Arrow Pad) Move Cursor -- -- L (Left Analog) Move Cursor Move Soldier Steer R (Right Analog) -- Tilt Camera Tilt Camera X Confirm Stand up/Jump -- T (Triangle) Cancel/Return Change Weapon -- S (Square) -- Reload -- O Cancel/Return Stand/Crouch Brake/Reverse Hold O -- Prone -- L1 -- Sights -- L2 -- Smoke Grenade -- L3 -- -- -- R1 -- Shoot Shoot/Accelerate R2 -- Frag/Stielhand -- Grenade R3 -- Melee Attack -- START Confirm Pause Pause SELECT -- Objectives (Hold) -- On-screen tools: You are going to need the on-screen tools to make sure you know where you're going and what you're doing. In the Bottom-left of the screen there is the mini-map. This has a compass on it in the middle. It also shows you your allies (Green arrows), your enemies (Red dots) and your next checkpoint (Yellow stars). In the Bottom-right is your weapon stats. It will show what gun you are currently using, how much ammo you have left and how many grenades you have left. [EQP] __ |EQUIPMENT During battle you can't just stick to one gun or just keep throwing grenades, you can make use of anything you are carrying, but you can also take weapons dropped by enemies, and even use vehicles when the situation demands it. British Weapons: These are the guns you will most likely come across in various missions. Thompson: This powerful little sub-machine gun is actually an american gun, which will guide you through your way on most missions. This gun has been used by many other countrys including France, Austarlia, Sweden and more. The gun has a .45 ACP catridge and will hold 20 rounds on each cartridge. M1 Garand: This is quite a quick gun to say it's only a rifle. This gun will probably be with you on most missions, as will the thompson. It originated in the USA and has been used by many countrys, including ones like Vietnam, Cambodia but also West Germany. This is a very quick reloading gun as it takes a clip loaded with bullets that just slides in and has a .30 Caliber Cartridge that holds 8 rounds. BAR: Quite a quick gun, but lacks power. This isn't a popular gun used for missions, but on a couple you may find some of these guns stood up against a wall available to pick up. If you can work your way through a mission just on this gun (eg. Chapter 2: The Island) then that's some mighty good combat you have done there. Sten: Personally my favourite gun. This is pretty powerful, quite quick, and holds a lot of bullets. This gun originated in the UK and was around until 1960. Not many others used it but some of our allies did in WWII which were France, Norway, Poland, France and the USA. The cartridge was 9x19mm Parabellum that holds 32 rounds when full. Bazooka: The Daddy of all weapons. This powerful rocket launcher doesn't have homing missiles or a lot of ammo, but can take down a tank in 1 or 2 blasts, and you know how slow a tank will move across the battlefield, right? It was 1.37m in length and had an 88 mm caliber. Bren: Very quick speed, quicker than the the thompson, but like the BAR it lacks some power. In the fight for speed, this would probably win apart from the MG-42 mounted guns. Also quite a heavy gun, weighing in at 22.82 lb (10.35kg). Again it is originated in the UK, but also Czechoslovakia. It has a 7.62x51mm NATO Cartridge which held 30 rounds. Lee Enfield: Again it originated in the UK. This is a slow weapon but mighty powerful if your not under attack and want to take down enemies instantly, this is your weapon. Though you don't get to see it much, in missions you may get either a scoped or un- scoped one. It has a .303 Mk VII SAA Ball Cartridge which holds 10 rounds when full. Springfield: Basically a Sniper Rifle. You will first encounter this gun on Chapter 8: The Forest. It's only a slow weapon with just 5 shots on a full Cartridge. Very good for shooting those MG guys down with your scope that you just can't get to with your other gun. Frag Grenade: This is just what it's called, a grenade, though the Frag is the British version, of course. German Weapons: Gewehr 41: This semi-automatic rifle wasn't of the German's main weapons. It was originated in Nazi Germany and only 6673 were produced. This is a similar weapon to the M1 Garand of the UK for it's rate of fire and it's power. It has 7.92x57mm Mauser Cartidge that held 10 rounds when full. MP40: The most common sub-machine gun that the Germans used was the MP40. It was basically their version of the British Thompson sub-machine gun. This gun was in service only for the war (1939-1945) and was designed and built in 1938. This also had a 'stock' stuck out at the back which was where the gun rested on the shoulder, though this could also fold up. Just like the British Sten gun, it had a 9x19mm Parabellum Cartridge with 32 rounds. MG42: You will see the Jerrys with this gun a lot in windows at the top of houses and on platforms. This is an extremely fast gun with some mighty power. i did 1200 rounds/min and can be mounted or un-mounted, though in the game it is only mounted. It had a 7.92x57mm Mauser cartidge with 250 rounds. Stielhand Grenade: Or as it was called the 'potato masher' grenade by the Germans, as the shape was a long wooden handle with a round detonator on the end. The German version of the grenade. [FTA] __ |FIGHTING TACTICS Multi-tasking: This should be one thing you should always keep in mind, that you can't just run through all the Germans and head to your checkpoint (and vice-versa), because that would be totally suicide. You need to make sure you are taking cover at all times and as you take down a few enemies keep advancing towards your checkpoint finding cover each time you make your move. Once you have found some cover, plan your route and think where you are going to go next. 'Move to Live': Whenever in combat (which should be almost all the time), 'move to live' is something that should be in the front of your mind throughout the battle. If you are in the same place all the time (I mean literally static) you're toast, so you must keep moving, just like I stated in the Multi-tasking paragraph, you need to keep moving, especially when you are sniping. Take your shot then move on, you don't want to give away your position. Trust the enviroment: Many of my friends play armies a lot around fields and just small towns. I always tell them to find some good cover, which is all around them, and they think it's not good enough, so trust the enviroment and use any cover you find. It may not look good but to the enemy they probably can't see you. Checkpoints: Whenever you get to a chekpoint, save your game just incase you die, or anything tragic happens like a power-cut. Then knowing that there is no back-tracking, you can move on. Enemy Behaviour: Once the enemy becomes aware of your and your squad, they will roam freely around the battlefield. If you see someone running towards a wall for cover, or an MG, kill him before he reaches his goal. To help you through Call of Duty 3 of course, so here is the part you've all been waiting for... The Walkthrough! Before I start I need you to know, for Objective I will say OBJ, S for Square, T for Triangle and for directions I will say the short commands (eg. N for North SW for South-West). I just want to make sure everyone is following me. [CHP1] __ |CHAPTER 1: SAINT LO Training: There is a cut-scene of your character walking over to the training area. Pick up your gun and try and shoot 4 helmets in a row. Use the sights if you have to. After that get a Grenade out of the box next to you and try throwing one through the door and window of the barn. Then, pick up a Smoke Grenade from the box and throw one down range. When you have done that go to the other side of the training camp, crouch, and go under the barbed wire. At the other side press R3 next to the box to melee the lid off, then press S to pick up the Thompson. Now go back under and head over the truck. Climb on the truck and it will trigger a cut-scene. You will hear a rather funny term from one of your allies, "Ok listen up, today we're on a secret mission to get coffee and doughnuts. Problem is, the Germans drank all the coffee and ate all the doughnuts, so now we gotta go kick their ***es". The Truck will then shake and tip over, and another cut-scene will trigger. After the cut-scene you will climb over the wall and start the mission for good. OBJ 1: As soon as you are over the wall head to your left a little into a small building. Hide behind the wall that has a gap in it. If any Germans come kill them. Now head to the NW building with the large hole in the front. Stay crouched at the other side then head to the door and go prone. Kill any Germans, throw a grenade if you have to. If you want you can also crouch benath the graves infront of you and shoot between them or above them. Now head for that wall infront of the graves. You are now about to go into the area where all the Jerrys are. Make sure you have your thompson equipped, find good cover and if you start to take heavy damage run out before you take more damage. Now proceed around the wall and head into the large hole in the side of the castle. Throw a grenade in the doorway next to you just incase. If you think you heard someone die then go in but approach with caution. Once you are here you should have got to your 1st CP. OBJ 2: Lay prone and go out of the doorway on the right. Make sure you go round this corner on your left real careful, because there is a tank with it's machine gun on. At some point it should get destroyed so just peep round the corner. When it is, proceed. Jump over the the pipe and go into the building at the end. Upon entry you will see it is quite well destroyed. Hide behind the large desk and get out the gun of your choice. Make sure you have cleared all the Germans here, then, once you have, proceed. Heading through the doorway of the building you will trigger your next CP. OBJ 3: This CP is only a few paces away. Turn to your right and find something for cover. You will be going in to the building on the other side, and there may be some Germans inside. As you get there you will trigger your 4th CP. Proceed into the building. Now head inside the doorway and be prepared for a little shock. A German was hiding by that doorway just waiting for you. You will trigger your first scene of melee action. Press L1 and R1 repeatedly as fast as possible, then eventually, when it says so, press O to attack. He will come back and punch you. Do your L1 and R1 thing again, then when instructed, press S to finsih him. At the other side are a couple of your squad. This is where, after the conversation, you will trigger your next OBJ. OBJ 4: Now your next Checkpoint is literally 3 steps away from you. It's to climb on the back of that tank. OBJ 5/6/7: These aren't actually checkpoints of where you need to go but what you need to find, with your binoculars. Pull up your binocs by holding L3. The first one is to the NW above the Nazi flag. Point your binoculars to him then press S. If you want keep looking to see close up destruction you can. Now that was by a Nazi flag right? So are the others, which makes them easier to spot. The next one is slightly to the NW on a low floor, next to a Nazi flag. Point your binoculars and press S. The final target is to the NW on the 3rd floor by a Nazi flag also. Target this, then your tank will move on. OBJ 8: Another target, also by a Nazi flag. It's NEE from where your tank is facing, quite far away, but you should through the binocs with the flag there. Target it, and you will move on once again for more targeting. OBJ 9: Next is a tank which directly N on the compass. Target it and then you will move on by the tank you just destroyed. OBJ 10: That's it for targeting. As your tank moves on it will blow up and you will faint. When you are back in business, turn around and go through each hole in the wall, until you're at a cafe. The go through the hole on the ground floor in the cafe. A cut-scene will trigger. OBJ 11: Once you are through the trap door, head over to the wall hole at the other side. Germans will come out now. So get your weapon ready. Go through the place and head up the stairs at the end. (Have you noticed there are actually many checkpoints i'm missing? That's beacuse i'm going through all the little ones and counting them as 1. Just wanted to make sure you know). Fight your through, past the MG and through the door. Make sure you are still finding cover well keeping on your toes. Once you get to the Nazi flag and the next MG you are on your next wide gap checkpoint. OBJ 12: Find some good cover and take down all the Germans you can. As you keep clearing them, keep moving and taking cover everywhere you can. When you see your squad move, you should move with them. Make sure you are keeping up. When you are through there is an MG. make sure you run quickly and plan out your route to stay safe. Head through the battlefield until you get to a door. Go through the door. On your left Cook off and throw a grenade through the hole, then head upstairs. Head to the other side of the room and a cut-scene will trigger. Now you thought that was the end didn't you? Well you guessed wrong. Just look out the hole and take down some Germans while reinforcements arrive. Or stay safe and just wait. Now when the reinforcements arrive that's when the mission ends. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 1! [CHP2] __ |CHAPTER 2: THE ISLAND OBJ 1: After the cut-scene do what is suggested, use the tank for cover. As the tank moves, move with it. At this point, use the broken boat by the tank for cover instead. Use your sights and pan around killing any Germans you see. Keep going with the tank until you get to a hole. Hide inside the hole, Take down anyone who comes past, then go through the little entrance made of barbed wire. OBJ 2: I hope you are liking this mission, because i know as i'm writing this, I certainly am! Now keep down this road following the tank. When you come out, you should be at 2 buildings. You don't really have a choice of where to take cover, so keep moving until you find some. OBJ 3/4: Head round the barn on your left with your squad. Once you are inside, take out all the Germans to complete CP 3. Now come outside and head to the building at the other side of the area. Go in the front door and head round to the left. Once you get to the other side, clear the room with the hole in the wall, then head upstairs. Clean out every room up here, then head downstairs and out of the house to regroup with your squad. OBJ 5/6: Going through the gate, head to the house to the left. OBJ 5.1: Get to the other side and jump down the ditch. Use the rock for cover then once it's clear, move on. As you get to the open area, take some cover as you will be shot from above without you knowing. Once you are done keep fighting your way through, under the bridge, killing any Germans you see. As you come round the corner, try and take down the MG. After doing so, keep going, round the corner until you get to a little camp out. Kill all the Germans here. Afterwards, backtrack your steps to the town again. You may also encounter more Germans on the way. When you see a truck drive out, wait until the barrels explode, then move on in. Run to the right and hide behind the large log. Use the barricades for cover as you advance, and clear all the Germans and MG's. When you get to the MG huts fight your way through them until you reach the checkpoint. Now do what it says... RUN FOR COVER! There a tank bombs, guns and grenades everywhere. Eventually, you will faint... again. then you will be in a cut-scene. Now you should be back at the town. OBJ 6.1: Head down the trapdoor and back up the stairs. Kill any Germans up here and use the table for cover. Keep going round the house and go up the next flight of stairs. Turn around and go past the stairs, through a doorway towards a hole in the wall. When you enter the area with MG's, jump out and follow the tank again, which will get destroyed. Take out all Germans in this area, and use the crates for cover. Keep fighting through until you get to the house on the other side. Head in the front door following your squad. Now approach with caution, as there is a German tank. When you get to the other side, follow through the ditch, taking cover behind your squad and anything you can find. Keep going through the ditch until you get to a doorway. Enter and turn to the left, taking out the MG guys from behind. Continue past them and take down more MG guys. Head up the stairs by you, round the corner, kill any Germans in the room, then enter. Follow the doors until you're back outside, then up the stairs again. When you get to the large turret, a cut-scene will trigger. The Germans are buggin' off! Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 2! [CHP3] __ |CHAPTER 3: NIGHT DROP OBJ 1: After watching the cut-scene and getting up, head to the house ahead of you, to re-group with your squad. After the conversation, head out of the house. OBJ 2: Follow the road with your squad. When you get to the small bridge, it will shake a little. Don't worry it's not going to collapse. Jump down at the end and walk slowly round to the left. Knock him down with a melee attack, then walk across the road. Go into the entrance by the van and hide behind the haystacks. Eventually you will be spotted though. Keep behind all the haystacks and do your usual thing. Keep good cover and take them all down. Head to the gap in the wall and take down any Germans here too. Once they are all down, proceed into the house and out the other side... more Germans. head to the right hand side of the battlefield and go under the bridge crouched down. When you come out there might be a German waiting for you to come out. Hide behind the well and clear the front area of the shack. Once they are all down proceed through the shack, turning left when you come out. At the end you will find Vera, the jeep. OBJ 3: Now it's time to have a spin in Vera. It would be too hard to explain where the route goes because of the mass amount of roads so you will have to navigate yourself with the map. It really isn't hard at all but to explain it through text it is. I can give you a couple of tips though. You need to drive as fast as you can to avoid taking too much damage, and if a German is in your way, just run him over. Also, change the view, as this is the only time you get to see your character. A cut-scene triggers at the end of your drive. OBJ 4: Head to the gate on the left first and climb over via the crates. Follow the road until you get to some barricades then jump down the ditch Follow the ditch and head into the opening near the end. Use the crates for cover and do your 'usual thing' which is take down all the Germans, as you remember. Go to the Flak88 on your right and press S to plant the bomb, then press T to insert the fuse, rotate the R analog stick and press O. Now backtrack the way you just came. Follow it round all the corners, killing anyone who gets in your way. Keep going until you find a large opening, do your 'usual thing' and find some good cover. Once they are all down, plant the charge on the next Flak88. Backtrack your steps again. Follow through the ditch until you get to another open area and do your usual thing. Plant the final bomb and get out of the ditch. OBJ 5:Now you need to find Marcel. follow your squad, through the wooden gate, through the shack and then out for your usual thing. Hide behind the benches on the right for some good cover. When you come out of the other end beware... there is an MG. Go around the MG building to the left. Head in the doorway to the right and up the stairs. At the top there is another melee fight with your L1 and R1 thing. At the top go into the room with the MG's and into the next room with a big hole in the floor. Jump down and into the next room, clearing out Germans. Head behind the little counter and through the doorway. Go down the steps into the cellar to find Marcel. Now follow your squad to rendezvous at the jeep. cut-scene... CP 6: Time to drive Vera again. Remember to drive as fast as you can, running down any Germans on your way. After the small cut-scene you will complete the mission. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 3! [CHP4] __ |CHAPTER 4: MAYENNE BRIDGE OBJ 1: Once you 'land', follow your squad round to the right and hide behind the wall. Take down all the Germans before proceeding (eg. Your 'usual thing'). Continue with your squad until you get to a castle like building with a Nazi flag on the side. This is definetely my favourite part of the mission. Get prepared because there is going to be a lot of Germans here. Keep behind the crates and take down the ones on the top ahead of you. Once they are all down head to the east side of the castle, through the passage, doing your usual thing as you go through. At the end be prepared to fight. Hide behind anything that you find and shoot down all Germans. If you can, sneak down the right hand side. When you get to the other side, usual thing your way down the steps and through the wine cellar. You can also blast a hole in the barrels for a drink if you like. At the end head up the stairs and cover behind a window. You are aiming to go down the left hand side. Once you get there fight your way down the road. At the end hide behind the barrels then head past the shack. Hide behind the barrels and fight through again. Go down the steps, to the right and into the boat. OBJ 2: Proceed up the slope and around the corner. Throw a smoke grenade to blind the MG and get into the house. Head up the stairs and around the corner and kill the MG. Now go back down into the room next door and up the stairs. Work your way through to the MG and kill him. Now go back downstairs and re-group with your squad. Now go back up with your squad and past the MG room to a balcony. Jump down and take out the few Germans there. Wait until the door and window has been cleared and take cover by the window. Follow your squad to left out of the house and hide behind the wall and the car. Go into the house ahead of you, up the stairs, round the corner and off the balcony. OBJ 3: After the little conversation head over and hide behind the front of the destroyed car or a barrel. Run into the house to the right of the truck and jump over the counter. Head up the stairs and follow the doorways around, killing any Germans who get in your way. Once you get to a room with 2 windows, go through the door on your right then down the stairs. Now once you come out, head across the road into the building, then by the stairs, out of the back doorway. Kill the guys by those mortars, then carry on to the other side and jump over the wall. A tank will come by, so once it has passed proceed to the NW, where Huxley will go out to and you have to cover him while he plants a bomb by the tank. Now carry on with your squad around to the right and go into the hotel next to you. Head upstairs twice and out on to the balcony, then back down to the ground floor to find your squad. OBJ 4: Now head out of the door with your squad, down the slope and around the corner. At the end of your fight down the river bank, head up the steps. Hide behind the sand bags, which are a perfect size to shoot from. After that battle, turn around and hide behind the sandbags there. You need to defend McCullin while he defuses some bombs. You will probably be best hiding just by him killing anyone who comes near. Move up to the barricades as your squad moves with you. Eventually, after a lot of shooting, you will complete the mission. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 4! [CHP5] __ |CHAPTER 5: FALAISE ROAD OBJ 1: You have a gun on a tank. Your OBJ is to gun down all enemies on the road, so that's what we're going to do. as you see an enemy, put your guns on and basically just run the gun across him. Just keep going until you get to the end. At some point on the tank you may faint. Don't worry nothing will happen. When you get to the end you will jump off with a new weapon in hand, the Bren. OBJ 2: Run through the vineyard until you get to the end. This part is hard as there is 2 MG42's and almost nowhere for cover. Just keep popping out from behind the vineyard area and giving it a shoot. Once they are down head through that house and straight ahead. Turn right and run to the end of the road. Once the Sergeant has planted the bomb, move (obviously) out of the way until it's destroyed. Run through where the truck was before and over to the sandbags on your right. Jump over and cover behind the crates on the right. Run through with your squad and kill the mortar team. OBJ 3: Your next objective is to capture the 88's. Keep going down the road with your squad until you get to an area with an MG and the first of the 88's, and also a few Germans to keep you on your toes. Once everyone in the area is dead, you should capture the 88. The other two 88's are just round the corners. Once you have killed everyone by the 88's, run down the slope and to the gate to regroup. OBJ 4: After the little cut-scene, run down the road with your squad. The next OBJ is to clear the factory compound. At the end a grenade will go off. Take cover by the barrels ahead. First clear the area on your right. It would be best to keep smoke grenades going to blind the MG ahead, as it get a bit annoying after some time. Once that area is cleared, clear the area on your left which also has an MG. Move up and hide behind the pipe. Use your sights and take out the MG, then move up. Move up past the hole and behind the crates. Once all the enemies from this area are down, carry on past this towards the next area. Stand up and run to the crates on either side, as you will take heavy damage from the MG, so once again use your sights to kill the MG guy. (At this point I was just thinking how amazing it must be for about 10 people to take down a full factory of people). After killing the MG it may keep coming back with another person, just keep at him. Once this area is cleared move around to the right and lay prone in the hole on the right. Like last time, the MG may keep coming back to life with another person, so just keep killing him. Once this area is cleared move round to the right and as the gate of the central building opens, keep on the wall next to it. Once inside, move to the left and hide behind the metal bars. Once the area is cleared, regroup in the middle. OBJ 5: Head to the right and up the steps on the left hand side. Press S by the controls and operate the crane. Now go down the way you went to clear the 3rd area on your previous objective. Kill all enemies you can and head over to the valve. Once you have turned the valve go past it and to the end of this area, killing anyone as you run past. Go to where your star takes you on the map, and plant the explosive on the outside wall. OBJ 6: Head back up to the NW area to defend it, which shouldn't take long. OBJ 7: Head back into the factory and up the stairs. Use the window for cover and defend until the reinforcements arrive. Beware of the tank though, you will have to get a panzersheck out of the box by the guns though. After 2 shots it will be down, but there is another. Follow Sgt. Callard while he plants charges on the tank then you have to plant charges on the Tiger. After planting the charges you will complete the mission Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 5! [CHP6] __ |CHAPTER 6: FUEL PLANT OBJ 1: After the cut-scene you will start with 2 weapons, 1 of which is new to you - The Lee Enfield. Run over to the 4 posts and throw a Grenade through the gap in the trains. Move up to the end of the nearest train. A lot of grenades will be thrown so if you can, throw them back. Once you have cleared most of the Germans, move up the stairs to the platform and hide behind the wooden wheels, then up to the crates. Move up once they are all down and take out the MG, then hide at the edge of the steps or behind the barrels. Once most are down, go down the road to left and hide behind the wheel at the end, then to the barrels ahead. Turn your attention to the other side and take out as many as you can, then move up. Once you are done, go back up to the platform and down the steps on the other side. Head onto the platform infront of you. Take down enough people to go down the other side of the platform, then round the corner where the garage is. Proceed through and take cover behind a crate. Keep gunning down until all are dead, then proceed up the steps to your right, then up the next flight of steps next to you. Once up there, and Pierre is on the roof, follow Keith down the steps and around the building. Once in the next room, go to the buttons on the window and press S. OBJ 2: Follow Keith out the door and down to Vera. You are now on the guns of Vera. Follow the tips on OBJ 1 on Chapter 5 and you should be there with no scratches in no time. Once you are off, take cover with your squad. Keep proceeding and killing enemies, then at the bottom proceed up the steps. Once at the top, plant the charge where the flammable sign is on the wall. Once through the door turn left and down the ladder. Take out all Germans then proceed down the passage and up the steps. Once at the other end run around to the right all the way and plant the charge. After doing so a melee event will begin. Do your usual L1 R1 thing. After that go through the gate and down the steps, then across the bridge. Proceed through the door and into the building - Take cover. OBJ 3: Once the room is cleared head up the steps in the SE and find your way up all the steps to finally arrive on the roof. OBJ 4: Escape - Head down the ladder from the roof and you will be driving. Use the tips explained in Chapter 5 and after a series of going through explosions, bullets and jumps, you will eventually escape, and end the mission Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 6! [CHP7] __ |CHAPTER 7: THE BLACK BARON OBJ 1-: This mission is fairly short and easy, as you are in a tank. Follow the instructions on screen to drive your tank. Keep with your squad and destroy any tanks in the way to complete each OBJ. Make sure you stay with your squad at all times and quickly destroy any German tanks. If you happen to get red around your screen just back up immediately. You might get hit more than you expect. Once you get to the Black Baron, keep following it, and destroy any tanks in your way. Once you find the Baron, keep shooting it and backing up if you take damage, while air support also bombs it. If you keep shooting, you should have it down in no time. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 7! [CHP8] __ |CHAPTER 8: THE FOREST OBJ 1: This mission was hard to divide into OBJ's at the start, so i've made the first 4 or 5 into 1. After the cut-scene, crouch by the rock just over the hill. Once the 2 men in the nearby ditch are down, move up and over the hill. Use your new Springfield gun to snipe a few Germans, then move across the river with your squad. Once through the wooden fence, follow your squad to the next battle zone. Lay prone in the plants on your left, where you should be well hidden. Snipe the MG, then take out any Germans that remain. Do not move up much, stay with your squad. Once all of them are down, move to the hut with the MG and round the back. Snipe your enemies from there then move up. Keep going until you get through a gate and a cut-scene triggers. OBJ 2: After the cut-scene run down the road with Guzzo and Dixon. Hide in the plants on your left again, and clear the area of all the Germans. Afterwards, move up to the jeep on the left hand side. When your squad shouts "Lets move out!", that is the time to follow them into the supply depot. Take cover behind the mounds and once most of the Germans have been taken down, move to the supply cache and plant charges. After the explosion, follow the star on your mini-map to find the next supply cache. Once you find it, plant charges on it and get out, obviously. OBJ 3: With your squad, find the underground area (Your squad should already be there) and enter. After entering, work your way through following the path, taking out all German forces. There isn't much to take cover behind in here, so you have to use the edge of the walls, or when you see stacks of crates, stand up and shoot from the top. Eventually, you will have fought your way out. OBJ 4: When you are out, take cover by one of the trees on your right. You should be well covered and able to shoot a few down. Once they are all down, head down the bottom into the hut, via the back entrance. Throw a smoke grenade, then come out of the entrance on your left, following your squad across the road. Once across, use a rock for cover and eliminate as many Germans as possible. As the numbers start to dip, move up and into the hut on your right. Throwing a Grenade inside will be the safest way. OBJ 5: After getting through the hut, throw a Grenade outside then proceed. Head to the end of the ditch and use the mortar. Follow the instructions on how to use, then try to destroy the barricade. The mortar can be quite annoying with it being hard to control, but after 5 minutes you should get the hang of it. After destroying the barricade, you will complete the mission. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 8! [CHP9] __ |CHAPTER 9: LAISON RIVER OBJ 1: Now we have a slightly improved weapon joining the club - The scoped Lee Enfield. After the cut-scene, run over the river with your squad and take cover behind the log. Follow them over the river and up the hill. Take cover behind the walls and use your sten to take out all the Germans up here. You don't want to waste your Lee on something so close. Once they are all accounted for, re-group with your squad in the woodhouse on the right. OBJ 2: Head out of the wood shop and down the road to the house. Keep cover behind anything you can, as there is a lot of Germans here. Use the Lee Enfield and take out the MG first, then the rest in the house, then finally all the ones on the floor. Once the area is cleared, head into the house and take out anyone inside. Head around the back and take out the MG. Now would be a good time to try out the MG. Take cover behind the walls by the MG and take out anyone in sight. Once the area is cleared, re-group by the mortar. OBJ 3: Follow Sgt. Callard down the road until you get to the top of a hill. Head down to the crates not far from the entrance and take out the few Germans around the Flak 88. Once they are all down, move in and plant the charge on the Flak. Move to the left of the destroyed Flak and fight through the passage. At the end you will find the next Flak. Plant the charge and move away. The next passage is also to the left of this destroyed Flak. Again, fight your through to the end, take out the MG's and plant the charge. OBJ 4: Head through the gate by the Flak 88. Work up the hill, taking cover behind rocks and mounds. Take out the MG's first and then the rest. Once they are all down, proceed up to the top to where the MG's are and down into the mound. Once at the other end and all are down, take control of the mortar. OBJ 5: Your OBJ here is to take out the 3 motor pools. They are the groups of cars and vans that each have a light on. Keep trying with the mortar as sometimes it won't turn. Once all the motor pools have been destroyed, move in and clear out the remaining Germans. Once the area is cleared, head down the road with your squad to the manor house. Use the wall for cover, and clear out any Germans on the outside. Make sure you take out the MG in the top left window. Once the outside is clear, move to the inside and take all the Germans out that are inside the manor house. Throw a Grenade or 2 inside and move in and sweep the place up. There is an MG inside one of the rooms so take that out. After the inside is cleared, head round the back and take out the Germans defending the Flak 88. Once they are down, which shouldn't take too long, re-group with your squad outside. After the small cut-scene - Mission complete. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 9! [CHP10] __ |CHAPTER 10: THE CROSSROADS OBJ 1: After the cut-scene, follow your squad up the road. Now that wasn't so hard was it? OBJ 2: Take cover by the wall on your left. Clean out the area and then move into the house with your squad. Take out anyone in sight, including the MG up in the house ahead. They may sneak round the side and into the house so beware of that. Once the courtyard is clear, proceed into the house on your right and to the OBJ point, which is just around the corner. OBJ 3: Once through the door Dixon knocks down, head through the passage to find another house. Kill the guy on the top, then move on. Jump down the wall and through the pile of mud and rubble, to find a few Germans. Once the area is cleared, proceed through to the back, and take out the MG on your left. Turn to the right and up the steps, then into the house on your left. Proceed through until you get to another set of steps leading down. Once you get to the bottom, you will be in a ditch. Head on until you get to a house on your left. Enter and keep going through. You will trigger a melee event, which is the same as normal, except this guy has a knife. Once you are done with him, move up to find your squad. OBJ 4: In the house with your squad, proceed through the downstairs clearing all the bottom floor and as you arrive in the final downstairs room, kill the Grenaiders through the hole in the ceiling. Once completed, head back to the stairway and clear the upstairs. Once the house is clear, re-group with your squad upstairs. OBJ 5: At this point, Dixon ends up shot, so hold off the advancing Germans while he is healed. Eventually, after a little while, Dixon will be healed and the tank will blow up. OBJ 6: Head downstairs and outside past the destroyed tank, following the rest of your squad through the town. There shouldn't be too many Germans to kill while your advancing through town. Once you are in the sewers and the ground starts shaking, don't worry - nothing will collapse. Eventually, you will be in a wine cellar and will stumble across a few Germans. Fight them off then head up the stairs, before finally re-grouping and triggering a cut-scene. OBJ 7: Choose the middle path, as this is the easiest. Take cover behind the jeep and the crates and tables on the left, and also the sandbags. Once all enemies down the street are defeated, regroup with your squad. Then you will see the Flak guns be destroyed. OBJ 8: Head into the park on the right of the road and into the house on your left, then down the hole in the floor. Advance through the cellar taking down any Germans who get in your way. On your left you will come across a room of Germans. Take them down then carry on through the cellar. You should be able to figure your way through as all other ways are blocked off by doors. Once you get to some steps, proceed up them and take down the few Germans in this room. From there clear out the house ahead, and then finally, from where you are, clear out the crossroads below. As this part is very hard and a tank comes, I prefer to crouch below the window and stay safe mostly. Eventually, one of your tanks will appear to help out. After a long battle at the cross- roads, re-group with your squad to complete the mission. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 10! [CHP11] __ |CHAPTER 11: HOSTAGE OBJ 1: After the cut-scene, you will be in Vera at the gun. If you use the tips in OBJ 1, Chapter 5 then you should there in one piece. You will then be driving. Drive as fast as you can, knocking down any Germans until you finally arrive. Take the road to the left and continue up it until you reach crossroads. Continue straight on and turn right, then head straight on. Your journey will end and you will come out with a new weapon - the M1897 Trench gun. OBJ 2: Head to the nearby house on your left, killing any Germans outside. Once inside the house, fight your way upstairs to the top floor until the house is cleared. Now head back downstairs and clear the outside taking cover by the window. Once the outside is clear, proceed to the large wine shed nearby. OBJ 3: Fight through the wine cellar using barrels for cover. Each time you get to a large area, hide in gaps between the barrels on the sides for good cover. Once at the end of the cellar, open the door to find the Magor tied up. OBJ 4: After the cut-scene climb into Vera. You are driving again. Again, drive as fast as you can running down any Germans you encounter on the journey. Follow the CP's and you will arrive at the first Maquis house. Clear the outside which shouldn't be too hard, then enter via the back entrance. After clearing the house upstairs and down, find the Maquis who is in the dining room like room. After finding the Maquis soldier, regroup at the jeep and drive to the next house. Once you arrive, go round and clear the garage first, which is right next to where your jeep stopped. Use the windows for cover and, once the garage is cleared, head into the house. Clear the downstairs, where there will only be a couple, then the upstairs, which may be a little tricky when you come up the stairs, as you are being attacked from both sides. Run into 1 room and then take the 2 out from there. Once the upstairs is clear, the door to the bathroom will open and the Maquis appear. Head back to the jeep and drive to your next house. Once you arrive, you will need to clear the outside of this house, before entering. Keep cover in the bushes on your left and hit them one by one. Once it is clear, head inside the house keeping good cover, as there is a lot of Germans attacking you here. After clearing the down- stairs, head upstairs and take out the 2 by the doorway of the first room. Once those 2 are down, find the Maquis who will be upstairs nearby. OBJ 5: Re-group at Vera and then drive to the Courtyard. Once there help your squad defend against the Germans. OBJ 6: Head around the wall to your right staying crouched, then coming out towards the tank with Isabelle. As you head back, Isabelle will be shot dead. Get over back to your squad and carry on defending with them. Afterwards, an explosion will occur and you will end the mission. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 11! [CHP12] __ |CHAPTER 12: THE CORRIDOR OF DEATH OBJ 1: After the cut-scene, get over the wall ahead quickly, so the tank doesn't get you, and follow the CP's on the map. Make sure the tank doesn't run over you after the 2nd CP. OBJ 2: Once you reach the backyard, keep cover behind the wall and eliminate all the Germans, then follow your CP down in the ditch to a safe location, then take out the 3 Germans and proceed through the house and up the steps outside. A melee event will trigger. Do your usual melee L1 R1 attack then up the steps into the next house. OBJ 3: Fight off all the German infantry in the house then proceed through until a cut-scene triggers. Once it is over, head through the door and the hole in the wall on the left. Once you get outside you need to take down 3 MG's. The first one is to your right on the front of the building and shouldn't be too hard. The second is also on the right building excapt it's facing the wrong way to get it. Move out through the gap in the wall to the right and down through the building. Head up the stairs in the next building and into the room where the CP points. Take out this MG. Head through all the houses until you get out near the far MG. Turn around and take out the MG in the roof in the distance. Once he is down, head into where your friendly MG is to re-group with your squad. OBJ 4: After the cut-scene, head up the stairs at the far end and take out the first mortar team, who you should see immediately. Turn to the NE to find the other 2 mortar teams. Eliminate both of them, and then your job is to simply eliminate all Germans from the N. Point to the NW and you will see many Germans coming past not noticing you. Take as many of them out as you can. Head back downstairs and take out any Germans coming into the house. Now turn your attention to the S. Eliminate as many Germans coming from the south as you can. This is a good time to try the MG. Once this is done turn to the right up the little steps and out of the door on the left to exit onto the street. OBJ 5: Use the crowbar on the door ahead to open it up and enter. Proceed through, into the next house and through the hole in the wall, then into the hole in the floor. OBJ 6: Proceed through the hole in the wall down here then use the crated with the Kar98k's for cover. Take out all the Germans down here to complete your OBJ. OBJ 7: Head round the barrels next to you and plant the explosive. Now go back through the 'hole in the wall' you just came through to complete the mission. Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 12! [CHP13] __ |CHAPTER 13: THE MACE OBJ 1: From starting get a boost up on to the FireFly. There is no need to move anywhere in this tank, you are just shooting. Any tanks or vehicles that come past, shoot them. Doing all this shooting is fun - if you hit them and you don't die. OBJ 2: Once you start, crouch and take cover by the nearby crates. Eliminate all the Germans in the area. Once they are all accounted for, move up with your squad. Take cover by the barrels near the barricades, then move up again. Hide behind the little stone mounds and keep eliminating the Germans, then once again move on. Once you get round the corner to the barricades, shoot the few Germans on the right, then proceed up the road. Sgt. Kowalski will die - keep moving. Head through the trench to re-group. OBJ 3: Follow Ulan down the left as this route is easier. Keep adavncing down the trench and take out the Germans when you get closer Hide in the little alcove on the left and take out Germans jumping over the nearby wall. Use barrels and little alocves for cover on your way through and stay safe. Once you have fought your way through, continue W with your squad. Once you are out, turn your attention to the W before proceeding. You will see tanks and infantry. Take them out, Then move up and an explosion will occur. OBJ 4: Look out of the window and down to the tank in the SWW. Look through your binoculars and move over to the tank, then press R1 to target it. Once that one is down, turn to the NW and target the next tank through your binoculars. Then turn to the W, where a tank will be moving in. Target this then look down to the front of the field where one should be coming past. Target this then move on down the trench. Look out of the window on your left once you get to the end and target the tank straight infront of you. The next is just to the right of this tank, so target that one aswell, then turn to the N and target the final tank. OBJ 5: Once all tanks are destroyed, move round the corner of the window you just looked out of with your squad. Hide behind the nearby barrels, then make a runner with your squad up the nearby hill. Now look down to the W and take down any incoming Germans until backup arrives. Use the sandbags for cover and take out as many as you can, using the sights to get a good shot. Watch for Germans rushing up the hill at you. If one comes, take cover and take him out. When the backup arrives, follow your squad into the nearby trench until you find the rest of your squad. OBJ 6: Use the fence and crates for cover. Keep fighting off the Germans and any who come close. Pvt. Baron will end up being shot and, while Ulan helps him, keep fighting off the Germans. They will be coming in through the trench behind, so use the wall for cover, and keep defending Ulan, and yourself. Pvt. Baron will die so retreat through the hospital with your squad. OBJ 7: Head through the hospital and up the hill with your squad, to re-group with your squad by the manor, then head inside the manor and round to the back. Follow Ulan into the trench and then target the tanks with your binoculars. They are all grouped together in the E so target each one, then head back out of the trench with your squad, to defend Hill 262. Use barrels, barricades and walls for cover, and kill all the approaching Germans you see, then move down in the trench to collect a Panzerscrechk. Head back round to the barricades and aim for the tank, then fire at it twice to take it down. Now your job is to simply do what you did a minute ago. Defend against the Germans. Eventually, planes will fly over, joyful music will start and green flares will go off all over the sky, but it's not over yet... Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 13! [CHP14] __ |CHAPTER 14: CHAMBOIS This is it. The final showdown. It's time to show the Germans what the British are really made of. OBJ 1: Straight after the cut-scene, the battle will start. Move up and either use the .30 Cal or your gun. Start defending the street using the sandbags at the front for cover. OBJ 2: Follow your squad, into the house on your left and out the back. Use the sandbags for cover with your squad. Once the rally point is defended, retreat through the house behind you and round to the back. Have Sgt. Miller boost you over the wall and into the church. OBJ 3: Find anything for cover quickly, then have a look around to see where you can shoot from. Once you have found something (The car on the left is good for cover). Take out any attacking Germans coming by the building ahead. Once they are all down, move up to where they were attacking from to re-group with your squad. OBJ 4: Follow your squad around the house on the right and out behind some sandbags. Head down the S road and into the house straight ahead. Come out and jump out of the window continuing down the S road until you get to an area crawling with Germans. Take cover by the wall and then down with Guzzo to protect him from MG fire. By the way there is a LOT of weapons here. If you fancy a change of weapon to just about anything, just swap your weapon. OBJ 5: As Dixon goes down to save Guzzo, protect him as he comes back with Guzzo, then head back up to the wall where you were before, where Dixon then gets shot, and dies. As he does, you should have cleared off all the enemies. OBJ 6: Move round to the N with your squad to re-group. Take cover by the sandbags as your anti tank soldier moves in. It would have maybe been a good idea to collect a Springfield from up at the guns so you can snipe enemies as he moves in to destroy the tank. Once the tank is destroyed, follow your squad into each house until you finally get to your CP. Move up to the nearby barricades and crouch by the sofa. Then, follow your squad through the house right next to you and out of the door Huxley knocks down. Head to the first crate you see and crouch down behind it. It shouldn't be too long before this area is cleared out. Keep moving up as more Germans are taken out, hiding behind cars, crates and anything you can find. Follow your squad into the house straight ahead after the area is clear, up the stairs and off the balcony. OBJ 7: Head round to the right and into the house with the big hole in the wall. They will come down the stairs in this house so use your thompson and take them out as they come down. Once they have stopped coming down, head upstairs and into the room straight ahead. Look out of the window and eliminate all the German mortar teams outside. The first one is literally straight ahead. If you have one, use your Springfield to take them out. The next team is just to the right this mortar team. Take them out next. The final one is also straight ahead, but closer by the wall near the house. Once the mortar teams are out the house will blow up and you will be downstiars. Head out the door on your left and take cover by the sandbags. Use the Pak 43 gun on the left hand side to take out the armored cars. This can be very frustrating as can mortars. For less frustration you can use the bazooka by the sandbags. Once the armored cars are down the CoD3 music will start to play and you must now destroy the tiger tanks. Again use the Bazooka if you don't want your head to fly off, aim for the tank and fire, buy Eventually your Bazooka ammo will run out so you will have to use the Pak 43. After the tiger tanks are down, defend Chambois while reinforcements arrive. Use all the sandbags for cover and eliminate as many Germans as you can. Once the reinforcements arrive, the Germans will bug off and you and your squad will cheer for victory! Congratulations! You have completed Chapter 14 & Call of Duty 3! I got to how to play, then I stopped for the day. 22/08/2008 Got to the beginning of the Walkthrough today. I wasn't going crazy and trying to get as much done as i could, but I could have done more. 23/08/2008 I was absolutely on fire today! I worked right through from morning to night and managed to get all the way through to Chapter 6. 24/08/2008 I was on fire today aswell. Again I worked from waking up to going to bed and got all the way through to Chapter 13. 25/08/2008 The final day of writing my FAQ.
