She is going to become the queen of blades again, but this time her mind is intact and she will still be "normal" Kerrigan.

This is what it said on the Starcraft 2 wiki for Heart of the Swarm campaign features.

    Clue #1
"The campaign is focused on Kerrigan and the development of a zerg empire. The campaign operates similarly to an RPG, in which Kerrigan is focused on increasing her personal power through mutations."

As you can see here, Kerrigan will be mutating back to the Queen of Blades to increase her power, aka leveling up.

    Clue #2
"Zerg armies protect her as she garners this power. The greater her power, the more zerg she's able to control."

As you can see here, she will be having to mutate back into the Queen of Blades to control more of the zerg units. Something like Wings of Liberty's unit unlock system.

    Clue #3
"Like Wings of Liberty, the player will be presented with choices as to which missions to carry out and which units to get, but such choices won't be based on cash."

Similar to WoL and you can choose etc...

    Extra Info:
"Both the missions and their objectives are intended to be quite different from the ones featured in Wings of Liberty."

All backed up by blizzard sources.

    starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Heart_of_the_Swarm

So as you can see, Kerrigan will have to turn back into "infested" Kerrigan to gain full control of all the zerg units again.

So I'm guessing with her hair still in place, the first few units she can control are drones, larvas and most likely hydralisk/zerglings. Then you can unlock more of the other units as you progress in the story.

Sounds like it is going to be a really good game to me.

not true. from the game and books can u imply what your saying.

She may have to turn back into a zerg unit yes. but you cannot imply that's how there going to do the story line.

They can go in may different directions.

She could of already done all this since 4 years have past and no one has seen her. And when Heart of the swarm comes out you simply get told the story. Or Make the story to tell .

If Shes goign to Change it may not even happen to The last game.

There are some interesting posts here and I have to agree with the last comment. I think they made the ending "open to interpretation" for a purpose. Personally I expect a good surprise about how all of this will play out. All that work and then she just goes back to being a Zerg... What about that Duran guy, or are there any other agents out there? In the first games, Brood War to be specific there was a second Overmind being grown, is there another one somewhere in secret? There are just so many ways to take this plot, which is what makes it fun... But please keep the theories coming, most of them are good.

in terms of chronology, Heart of the Swarm takes place after WoL and before Legacy of the Void according to the starcraft wiki.

i dont think the story will be about the 4 years between WoL and brood war.

in terms of her alligence, karrigan has been acting on her own free will since the death of the overmind, so even though shes human again, she might still hold a grudge against the protoss and Mengsk.

i pray to the BLIZ that one of her mission is to assassinate

"worked with his worst enemy" ---- yes!

"for a good cause" ---- thats questionable cause it feels like hes more interested in replacing his father rather than for the good of the universe. just wait, he'll backstap raynor the first chance he gets

    poor raynor, so gaulible

I bet Kerrigan only remains human for a short time. The artifact's effects were only temporary. Too bad Raynor killed Tychus, he might need Tychus again!
