Well from what I've heard, the X6 1055 from AMD is almost the same as the i7 860 but for about 80$ cheaper.
According to this chart at PassMark, it's significantly faster.

Almost a thousand points higher.

What should I get between the core i5 750 / core i7 860 / phenom II x6 1055. Between those, which would be a good performance/price choice?
I am going to add that I would like to know the answer considering that I want a processor that will do more than 2 years from now before I need to change it again.

well..price wise AMD will win no doubt about that and performance wise they're definitely not bad either. Intel chips r way over priced.
