What are you guys into these days?

Personally I've been experimenting with my music tastes, formally I listened to classical rock with the lights of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin and whatnot. However recently I've found myself getting into electronic/house music which is quite a change from from my old taste as you can see.

Artists such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Plaid, squarepusher and Boards of Canada seem to do it for me musically at the moment. I guess I like the out-there-ness of it all, how it's different form the norm but also sounds pretty awesome. I like it so much so that i've tried making a bit of my own, needless to say it's not very good but i am improving.
Is anyone else into this sort of stuff at all?

Here are some tasters for you guys to see what you think:

    Aphex Twin: Link Heliosphan.
Autechre: Link Gantz Graf - The video works so well with the music, but it does get a little messy at the end.

Obviously thats not the only thing i listen to, i do still like to bang on a good old rock song every now and again for old times sake but not as usually as i once did.

So how about you guys, what are you into at the moment? Anything really out there? Or just the same old?

For me, I prefer instrumentals to have a more calming soothing effect: Link

To this date, I wish I could find even a single artist like The Pillows yet the closest I can find is The Almost. The Pillows are rock, but they're so unique that I can't really describe them.

The classical rock like "ACDC" have some good songs, but they get old really fast in a session. I like more range to include artists like Def Leppard and Aerosmith. The former getting old after awhile too while Aerosmith has some good songs (though I tend to stick to the Big Ones album).

Screamo and Hardcore tends to turn me off except for very few artists. Screamo, I think I've only liked one or two songs in that fashion (Art of American Football and Raise the Dead). Saosin is a pretty good band to listen to when I want some dramatic stuff in my music.

I think my favorite genre are the artists like The Almost, Lostprophets, Ellegarden, The Pillows. All of them tend to be lighter in terms of theme and somewhat fast paced.
    Your bitterness, I will dispel

ahhhh I love music. When I was little, I would listen to whatever my parents had on. I dont know if I liked it because I actually liked it, or because It's all I was allowed to listen to. Personally, now I can't stand that music.

So, when I was young, I used to listen to things like NSync and Backstreet Boys, because that's what I was allowed. Then I made a progression (slowly) into Rap. I was into rap for a few years, and then have made my progression to where I am now.

I mostly listen to metal now. All types of metal. But the days of Anthrax to newer bands like Arsonists Get All The Girls.

At any time, I could go from listening to Metallica to listening to Beneath The Massacre, to listening to Dead Kennedys.

My all-time favorite band is The Number Twelve Looks Like You (they combined grindcore with jazz, mathcore, Avante-Garde metal, and experimental rock)

Hmm that link was better than I expected. Based on the song I listened to they sound reminiscent of Radiohead. They have the same Alt/experimental rock vibe going on. In fact I'm sureIve heard a Radiohead song very simlar to that I might have a look around later.

Oh and love lost Prophets 4am forever is one of my favorite all time songs.

Right now I'm listening to a lot of stuff by Nine Inch Nails as well as A perfect circle. Mainly stuff that has something original or creative to it. Creative talent in bands is a must imo.
Even though I liked em a few years ago I can no longer stand the more formulaic kind of emo bands that pump out the same repetitive songs all the time with the same old lyrics.

Overall Muse still do for me. One of the best live bands around and a huge amount of quality songs all with their own distinctive, creative, brilliance. In fact some of the B-sides are better than the singles. It's hard to see any one over take them in my list.

I'll leave at that but in general I listen to mainly rock/metal/classic rock and a bit of prog now and again.

I still have my love for Classic Rock but recently I've been listening to a lot more Indie Rock and Modern Rock with a little bit of Heavy Metal like Disturbed or Rob Zombie.

Muse is now one of my all time favorite bands, actually....

I love Aphex Twin. Come to Daddy is one of my favorite songs.

Recently I've been listening to Innerpartysystem and Hail the Villain.

I suggest everybody listen to Innerpartysystem NOW. Link

I listen to all types and genres of music. The only ones I don't really like are country and screamo. Mainly because I just can't wrap my head around either genres, the styles just don't sound good to me.

My musical tastes have shifted a lot, over the years though. I've been an alt-rock fan for most of my life, that kind of lead into emo and ska stuff, followed by underground hip-hop and mash ups, and now I'm right in the middle of a gangsta/pop hip hop stretch.

I also listen to the super smash bros brawl soundtrack a lot... some of the tracks are really ear catching (Link), and the ones that aren't are nostalgic as hell (Link)
