My SC clan has been active since like 2006 and still going on strong.
The main problem with almost every site that's been through is over-complexity. Small community does not need super structure.
My community is extremely simple: Two admins (One that provides server, one that knows how to manage it). Few mods that don't do their job (because there's no need for it).
That's it. The rules are extremely simple (don't be an idiot...literally that's the only rule). Then again I don't know how much effort you guys actually put into to playing Halo matches together. There's no need for this "junior admin" or "senior mod" or whatever. Someone that runs the forums and if you need help enforcing whatever rules the forums then one mod is all you need. The very old site managed by ES and others had a lot of promise to it then it died because the server it was one stopped working or whatever.

We actually don't have junior admins or senior mods or whatever, in fact we don't even have ranks anymore. The list in the OP is basically a seniority list that's purely ornamental.
Also I miss that old atfreeforum site. Does anyone still have a link to it? Does atfreeforum still exist?

Well people really have had opinions about it. Plus this is the most exciting this board has been in years.
