The only game I've liked for story telling was the Metal Gear Solid series. Nothing else really came close.
The main reason I trudge through some of the more terrible final fantasy games is because that series has some damn good storytelling they almost become like books that you want to finish because you want to know how they end but at the same time you don't want it to end because then it's over also run on sentences.

Maybe. It's a good game to kill some time with. I was recommended Dragon Age awhile back and I didn't like it. I'm not much of an RPG fan since the action is so slow. Halo has pretty decent action though I've never seen Reach in action. I'd like to try it out for an hour or so before I'd buy my own copy.

The story line the Halo games show is a VERY small fraction of the entire storyline of the franchise/series/whatever you want to call it. I don't think a lot of people know of it. They are mostly in the books though. I read the first three and Ghosts of Onyx. Started Contact Harvest a long time ago but never got past chapter two or something.
Anyways outside the games, yeah Halo has a huge story. The books are an awesome read, after I started reading the first I just couldn't get enough.
Also it's class time brb

I think the difference is the way the story is told. In Metal Gear Solid it's built around the suspense genre and the action is over-the-top and dramatic without being cheesy or stupid. The first one also had that cool mystery behind it and "OH ****" moments near the end as the plot all came together.

I have Fallout: New Vegas, it's pretty legit so far.
Meh.
You can tell it's made by Obsidian, because they didn't bother with any quality control.
On uberhigh settings, the textures don't match the meshes. The character models are inconsistent. The imported meshes from FO3 don't match up with the altered models.

It'd better be legitimate, or else you'd be playing illegally.
