Wow, you managed to find THE STORY in Dragon Age? Like what? 137-th Diablo is about to take over the world? King's advisor betrayed the king for no apparent reason?
I envy your talent to find the story where there is none.
Makes me wonder WHAT a dragon could possibly do if he ruled the world. Oh, and especially the dragon that can't talk. Get money, women, castle for himself, hm? There is the limit to storyline stupidity, and in case of Dragon Age, BioWare has gone far beyond it. As I've already said, villans in the game barely even have motivation.
Oh well, and talking about that limit, the main boss in ME 2 is a rip-off of a well known movie.
If these are BioWare's "fresh" ideas, BeWare. I hope they wrote ME 3 story before they ran out of the last normal ideas they've had. So yeah, I vote for Mass Effect 1. It is more or less fresh, yes.
As for Diablo and Terminator clones - spare me.
Agreed with others, your attitude towards others really stinks to be honest.
Dragon Age has a story, if you didnt press SPACE to often perhaps you may take the time to listen to dialogue etc.
Loghain allowed Cailan to die at Ostagar because he was asking for help from Orlais, who Loghain defended Ferelden against many years prior. He also felt King Cailan was too wrapped up in fantasy and glory hunting with the Wardens that he was weakening Ferelden.
The Blight was created by Tevinter mages who dabbled in blood magic to summon demons and other abominations, to the point the demons took over and slayed the blood mages and take control, in turn rebirthing the Archdemons (dragons).
Ahhh a Dragon that cant talk? Is that so difficult a thing to consider? Why, does all Dragons talk? Someone must slap the Square team in Japan when they created several Bahamut's for Final Fantasy that didnt talk, Bahamut being a Dragon.
Besides the Archdemons are not in control of the Blight, the corrupted and possessed Tevinter blood mages are, well the demons inside them are. And next expansion you get to see one controlling the Blight army in Ferelden and beyond.
Not to mention the game also opens up multiple story lines, on the Elves, The Dwarfs and the various places of Ferelden. And the story of Andraste.
So there is plenty of Storylines in the game, just have to find out the info for them and read all the entries in the journal when you find books etc. Pressing TAB helps find those things.
