Every christmas my gran has a do where the hole family gets togethor.
The younger ones sit there watching CBBC or Cartoon neteork.
While the older ones(the mothers) sit in the front room, mostly *****ing about things.
I am 19 and don't watch kiddies tv or ***** about things.
I know my gran likes her family around her at christmas, but does that MEAN I have to stare blankly at a clock intil the last person leaves. Then We go which is 10pm at night.
oh..i know what that feels like...neither here nor there...
Then don't go.
I HAVE to go that's the thing
No you don't. You're an adult, you can simply choose not to go.
its not as easy as u might think. i come from a very orthodox/traditional part of the world. there's plenty for the sake of the family and duty that i've had to do...but didn't like at all. it gets complicated...even as adults...not always black/white...plenty of shades of grey too.
its a good thing here we can just say we don't want to go I'm very blunt
u know honestly...i really wish it were that easy. i'm 35 years old..married 7 years now..5 year old kid...and even i can't think of going against my father's wishes(its another matter that he's been a University level boxing and weight lifting champ ) if he puts his foot down about something.
