I am trying to get to help the elfs in the forest to get rid of the werewolf problem but i have no idea how to remove the block from the forest so that i can contine, the hermit said he could help me but he is dead now, please help

One way is to side with the grandoak tree, get back his Acorn by either bartering with the hermit or killing him. Another way is to side with the hermit instead and get rid of the grand oak.

Both of them will give you an item in return to get pass the forest.

*since you killed him, just grab the acorn in the tree stump and return to the grandoak.
