Lol, they don't ban people because of cheated characters, they banned people for using a hacked version of the game.

Yeah, I don't know where he got "Hacked Characters" from.

People were permabanned from XBL for using pirated versions of Borderlands and Forza Motorsport 3 on a modified console.

So far, there are no real "Hacks" for 360 other than an easy item duplication trick.

What a player has to do is go to an area away from a New-U station (Which saves your game), have a friend stay in-game while you drop everything you want to duplicate and exit the game. Go back into the game, and have your friend invite you to the same room, go back to where you dropped whatever gear you dropped, and lo and behold, it's still there, and simultaneously still in your inventory, meaning you now have two of everything you dropped.

And people were saying the 360 version wouldn't have exploitable hacks and glitches XD

    Yo.

no... it's NOT meant to work online in games(don't get yourself banned from the maker and waste your money) ;)

Also please DON'T ask me to email you a copy of a trainer. thanks!(your message will be ignored)

There is a youtube vid of someone who hacked their character a few days ago. Lvl 255 and such. They even had an RGB slider for their characters colors so you could get colors that weren't normally selectable.

He showed it real time as well. So yes, there are hacks for the game already. Unfortunately, I can't find the link right now. It was posted in another forum but it's been buried a long time ago or was deleted cuz I can't find it.

Those level hacks and such are what i was talking about that were getting people banned, i.e hacked characters

the hacked versions of the game or wtfe isnt what i was talking about, but the hacked characters themselves are getting them banned as well because they go and post videos and use them in co-op with ppl they dont know to show off. so its their own fault.

That dupe trick was there loooooong ago on Diablo 2, same procedure, go lan or online with a bud, drop everything on the ground, terminate the game, start it up and re-join, ????, PROFIT!

Just gotta love multiplayer games that store character data locally.

The biggest advantage to this particular dupe hack is the fact that you can drop all of your equipment in a safe place on the ground, then only dupe your most expensive item until you have enough to fill out your backpack, then PROFIT! I was netting $235,000 everytime that I did the dupe. Easy to get $3,000,000 that way! The only problem that I had (which was easily remedied) was that some of my items that I had placed on the ground were missing when I finally got done. Luckily I had backed up my save game and was able to just load that game, then use the dupe hack to drop the items that I had lost for whatever reason. Best...dupe...ever.

Yah, it seems that Borderlands is following the Starcraft/Diablo way to multiplayer, i.e. locally hosted matches and no master/dedicated server.

    Link

The topic about no servers and cheating through local data storage starts near the bottom of the 1st page.

Since the darn steam/pc version was locked by a online date check, we should be getting a trainer, if one can be made in a week or so.
