The latest Alone in the Dark was pretty sick.
That was possibly the worst game ever created in my opinion and is quite far from being an RPG.
Great PC rpgs...exist mostly in retro gaming.

Definitely, try Shadow of Chernobyl, then the prequel, Clear Sky.
ATTN: Get Call of Prypiat, to be released in the the end of the year.
