What is this black version in reference too?

All good, found this:

The fourth patch was released on March 5, 2009 bringing the game up to version 2.0. The patch fixes various bugs and issues as well as making other changes, such as better AI behavior, revamped User Interface and achievements on the Steam version of the game. The "Titan Pack" was released simultaneously with the fourth patch, adding large amounts of new content, including 16 new maps, new vehicles, new weapons and two new game types. The game was re-released on Steam under the name Unreal Tournament 3 Black, and accompanied by a time-limited price reduction and free weekend to publicise the game. Also, a non-Steam purchased version of UT3 can now be activated with Steam by using an existing CD Key, making it a full Steam version.

I think its just for the steam version.

Also, why is TRAINER 2.1 not out to public yet?

Cause it is UNLIMITED ONLY (No Public Release).

The black edition just refers to the latest updated version (v2.1 I believe), steam or otherwise. I updated my retail version to it not so long ago.

The balck edition is when your game is updated to the latest patch. O and one more thing if you buy the retail version the game you can have it on steam as well. Here are the steps for you to have the game on steam if you got the orginal copy of the game:
1.If you have the retail version go to steam and click Add a game.
2.When you click that click the Activate a Product on steam and then enter your serial key and your done.
