After RE4's last jaunt on the PC, Konami may not be so eager or quick to get RE5 out so quick, they will no doubt wait a year get as much sales as possible on the console market then probably use Steam as a way of distro'ing the game to the PC market.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

Release date confirmed to be the 14th of this month (So expect to see it in stores at the 15th or after).
And Konami has nothing to do with Resident Evil, it's Capcom, who unlike with RE4, are going to do the porting of RE5 "First Party", or in other words, themselves. This means that it'll be the best it can be on PC, whereas RE4 was sup-bar on PC because Capcom hired Ubisoft to do the porting.
