In my opinion, it rocks XD, I'm currently building on a map a gigantic armada that'd make any army **** its pants. It's got 16 capital ships, and each capital ship is going to be a fleet with 10 heavy cruisers attached to them.

I have 8 of the first capital ship and 8 carrier capital ships, everytime someone warps into my space all you see are lil blue dots in a wave across the map XD

On the whole this is a good game, especially the revolution gameplay. But for some die hard gamers of the sci-fic gene, there's just something wrong. This game lacks something I call PMD (Power of Mass Destruction). If you've ever player Homeworld 2 you would see that the in game capital ship doesn't deserve that name. In Homeworld 2 a battlecruiser can take down a frigate or even another capital ship in a matter of seconds. But in Sins, I got an all-upgraded level 10 Kol Battleship and it took me almost a minute to finish off a scout frigate.

Beside of that, the capital ship doesn't look so cool either. You will know what I mean when you play Homeworld 2.

So this what happens when good ideas meet poor managements: a great game ruined.

    Have to agree with DeadCellMember

The game is no comparisn to Homeworld 2 at all.

Anyone thinking of buying, i'd recommend a big no. The game as with most new releases lately, is just hyped up garbage, take your money and buy Home 2 or Freelancer.

    My Humble Opinion

I really enjoy the game also, having a blast with it.
EA is the anti-Midas touch company. Everything they touch turns to garbage.

gotta say i like this game alot but when u compare it to HW2 its no contest

i also find it annoying how a capital ship takes ages to take out a frigate.

the looks of the ships aint to bad imo so that doesnt bother me but if theres a reskin mod id have to get it

best part is playing with 1 of my m8s online thats great fun

I think the same thing too, its a good game as most games in this genre goes, but the lack of a campaign is kinda disturbing since i always love a good story and it seems unnatural for a game like this to not have one. And dude i totally agree with the whole capital ship thing, i mean why the **** would a capital ship suck so bad besides the fact that it got tons of armor (HP), its just a freaking armor boat to soak up incoming fire thats pretty much it. Also, wheres all the WMDs? i would think we would atleast hav nukes (fusion nukes) or quantum space AoE weapons, kinda sucks when all u do is jump into orbit and hope u got enough armor than the other guy.

The game is decent enough...good, but no cigar.
The lack of any campaign whatsoever is a major issue not to mention failure to live up to its hype.
It tries to become a kind of Supreme Commander-in-space, but just doesn't make it.

The game is really good. I would put as high as an 7 or 8 out of 10. If you like these types of games, then I would have to say that you have a good chance of enjoying this game. That being said, the game is far from perfect. One of the biggest gripes that I have is that the capital ships feel VERY underpowered. I was loosing capital ships left and right before I learned how to use the effectively. I’m sure someone will argue with me on this, but I would have to say that the smaller ships are the real workhorse, so to speak, in the game. Someone compared this game to Homeworld 2. That’s not really a far comparison. They are not even remotely similar ones you get past they both take place in space and have ships. Now don't get me wrong, I loved Homeworld and home Homeworld 2, but I'm not going to get into that. But what I will say, is Sins of a Solar Empire does not have great graphics or sound. The controls feel a little clumsy, but that’s ,more than likely, just me. But to me, Sins more than makes up for it shortcomings in addictive gameplay. When I first picked this game up about three weeks ago, I put in about 30 hours in it in the first two weeks. The huge maps that you can play take a LONG time. Hope that helps you make your mind. Sorry for the longwinded reply
