you can only catch mewtwo in pokemon firered/leafgreen at curelan cave after getting the sapphire its at the very end and when you catch it trade it from firered/leafgreen to emrald hope i helped

when you go to the island you must save your game. then turn it off and switch off the ar as well. then switch it on again and you will be able to go inside and get mew. he will be in the grass and you must play hide and seek with him. hope i helped
