Darkish, the glitches were skillful, just because you couldn't do them doesn't mean they were crap. Using them properly was difficult, sweep-sniping was difficult, but also loads of fun once mastered. Sword is bah in Halo 3 too.

Oh, and by combos I also meant weapon combos, things like flashing a sword at the last minute in a firefight were cool. The ages it takes to change a weapon now sucks. New grenades are boring, flamethrower is pointless and annoying, grenade throwing seems to ignore conventional halo physics, the game lags more, more idiots, all of those mean less fun.

I agree with ES some things in Halo 3 are just dumb. I dont like some of the additions but i still like the game. But i think i might like CoD4 Better.

Who says I couldn't do them? Everything that you liked in Halo 2 that was changed in Halo 3 are classified as noob-tactics...except sweep sniping I suppose.

Noob combo, sword hogging (can't use the correct word for that I think), BXB, BXR, BXXB, super jumps, all of them.

For me I'm glad the sword lunge was shortened and the time to switch to it was lengthened. I'm also glad that the noob combo is no more, and that are are no more button glitches and super jumps. All of that makes it a much more balanced game.

Granted if all you do is play FFA custom games like you do with your friends, then I suppose that all of the above is better assuming everyone knows how to do it properly.

But for someone like me who actually plays matchmaking, all of the above has been taken out for the better.

The grenades are pretty much the same. The frag has a larger splash damage, therefore it doesn't do as much damage as would a plasma if you were real close to it. And the Spike grenade shoots upwards if it is stuck to the ground, that's why you should use that grenade to stick people or if you know they are coming around a corner.

Also, the flamethrower is only featured on one MM map, Construct.

More people = more lag, that's a given. Halo 2 probably has very little lag now because of the low population.

And more people = more idiots, just deal with it or play ranked and not social.

So yeah, Halo 2 is better now when it comes to your situation I suppose, playing FFA matches with friends who also know all the glitches or everything, but that doesn't mean that Halo 3 is fun for FFA matches.

Exactly darkish, the fun thing about Halo 2 was that you had a set friends list with people who all played the same things and enjoyed the same things. That has now been taken away, Halo 3 is a lot more MM, a lot less custom in my experience. Furthermore there is more lag, not because of more people, but because of all the extra graphical rubbish that bungie has added in, loading those makes the game work slower.

I agree that things like superjumping and noob combos were crap, but BXR and BXB combos were awesome and once you got into them there were real tactics on how to deal with each of them and it started becoming like a ninja fight.
The sword lunge wasn't really in many ames, but it was a good power weapon, and IMO a game needs a good power weapon that a team can scrap over, otherwise why bother even running for it? That's why I stopped, not because I wasn't any good, but because you couldn't just find a sniper, or a sword or a BR and then sit in special places and pick people off. There's always something to make you paranoid, which makes it annoying to me, I liked having a certain area I could patrol or go to, there's nothing better than having 8 players all trying to storm the same area. Now there's so many power weapons everyone simply spreads out all over the map and the fighting becomes less intense.
In the end, it has led me to conclude that Halo 2 was a better game.

Can someone fill me on on whats happened? and why the hell a new forum hasn't set up to deal with all these bloody posts?

Next time and try to post something relevant to the discussion. And yes, Mittens is still where she always is thankfully; at least for me... Daisy passed away though sadly, heart murmur. It was only a matter of time...

I don't actually have Halo 3 or a 360, *avoids **** cheathappensing monkeys* but the Multiplayer was something I rarely played, as I never had live on my Xbox.

Whats the general consensus of the Halo series, how does it compare to other games both in single and multi player game modes?
