Well, if you fish and set a record then you go back later and tie with the record or set a new one you will get a champion flag and $5000! Springleaf Feild is basically to get money and buy stuff from Abra's shop in the tree in the middle. That,s pretty much what I know. As for the point of the game I'm still trying to figure that out for myself!

The point of the game is to beat it. Get to Pika's daring days and go to Springleaf Field. Get Pikachu to water an Oddish to evolve it into a Gloom. The next day, Professer Oak will show you that Pikachu is more mature. You have to get in a cardboard box and watch as Pikachu completes his errand to buy a telescope. At night you look at the stars with Pikachu. In the morning you get a sad call from Professer Oak. You have to say goodbye to Pikachu and put it back in the Forest. When you get home, you have flashbacks about Pikachu. The credits roll with images of Pikachu having fun in the wild. When the credits are done, Pikachu comes home and you have to invite him back in like you did at the beginning of the game. The next day, everything is normal. Sometimes, your mom sends Pikachu on errands and you have to get in the cardboard box and watch Pikachu get his shopping done. I did this. It really works. The scene where you say goodbye is so sad though.

Hehe, yeah that really brought tears to my eyes, especially when it's over and you see pikachu in the credits, it made me cry, ALOT. But that was 4 or 5 years ago and I'm over it....a little.
