Make sure you have Proton 9.0 (Beta) installed in your steam library. Otherwise open game settings in SD tool and change the proton version from Proton 9.0 (Beta) to another one.

Might I ask which SDtool you mean please, If you mean the SDtool I purchased the only options i have are install install location. And in there I cannot find the executable named SDtool (or any file named that either) in the install location.

I ran the installer again and managed to get to the settings to change it to GE-Proton8.3 (found to have better performance and compatability) 2 things

Inside the tool I had to apply that to every single game and save manually and individually.

Also now I get this error (image)

The game is p3r which does not need proton to run. None of the games on steamdeck require proton to run only some non steam games like emulators ect. Is there a way to sort this?

First things first. SDT will always use the latest Proton version you have installed. If you delete the Proton files but kept the Proton folder, Aurora 2.5.0 and below consider it as installed. So either delete the folder or just reinstall Proton 9, then you dont have to change it for every game.

Second thing, SDT is compatibility tool. Which means, its for every game which NEEDS proton to run with. If your game doesnt need Proton, dont use the SDT. Then your game must be a native linux application which isnt supported by us at all.

Third thing, the error you got has nothing to do with our SDT. It also tells you what to do. Add the parameter it mentions in the game properties argument field in Steam. If you still have issues with it, contact game developer or look into the Steam forum as its an issue of the game and Steamdeck, not of our SDT.

You're confused. Every game on steam requires proton to work with the steam deck. P3R works perfectly fine for me.
