I'm looking for game recommendations. My favorite games of all time are Crysis 1 & Crysis warhead. I never play multiplayer, only offline single player games, and only FPS. One of the biggest things I loved about Crysis 1 were all of the custom maps you could download and play. I had 82 different single player add on maps for Crysis. However I haven't played it in quite a while and when I went to play it recently I found out that Origin no longer works. I was forced to download EA Play (complete rip off IMHO) and long story short I couldn't get the game to play....even after uninstalling and downloading from EA directly. So I did some searching and found Crysis remastered on Steam. Bought that, and it played, but when I added the custom maps and tried to play them they locked up during the first instance of the new "autosave" feature. So I'm looking for recommendations for single player FPS games. I have bought and played many, Bioshock, Borderlands, Wofenstien, etc. Too many to list here, so I'm hoping someone may suggest a new game I haven't tried yet. Gameplay is more important to me than cutting edge graphics. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the reply's, I'll check them out. I should say that I don't care for run & gun style games though. I prefer a slower pace with a mix of stealth (sneaking up on the enemy), exploration, strategy on how to take down targets, etc. But I don't like RPG games, only FPS, and trying to find a FPS with these qualities can be a challenge. That's why I loved Crysis so much, before they ruined it, that is. Any help finding a new favorite is greatly appreciated! Thanks

I would recommend the stalker series.

In particular, you might want to try the anomaly version of stalker which is a standalone mod version of the game. You do not need any to have any of the original stalker games installed. Better still, it's free (legit, not piracy) as well.

Have a look over at this site:

    anomalymod.com/about/

If you end up liking it, you might then want to try out stalker gamma which is basically a souped up version of anomaly that incorporates many other little mods and increases the difficulty even more. However, gamma is somewhat of a chore to download and configure and there were some performance issues the last time I tried.

Thanks, I downloaded anomaly and the patch, haven't played yet but it looks
promising. And for any fans of Crysis, I got a wild hair and decided to try my 82 Crysis custom maps in the stand alone Crysis Warhead game and they worked! Hooray, back in business! Warhead is available through Steam and hasn't been remastered or messed with thank God.
