Is it like open world, or do you have to follow a story to get to the open world map?

I'm loving this game to I played the sorcerer's stone and chamber of secrets on pc and we'll you couldn't really go anywhere in those games but with hogwarts legacy I'm loving being able to anywhere in an open world and if they make a sequel it I hope they do all of Harry Potters stories in their next game for sure 😇
