So there is a problem with IP selection process for the listening socket. It does not select the correct IP for my LAN and instead listens on VPN IP. As the phone and the PC are on different VPNs but the same LAN they do not see each other. I see 3 ways that can fix it. 1) Improve detection to which network it should connect 2) Listen 0.0.0.0 instead so it will work on all networks 3) Let users choose their IP from the list so we do not need to fix auto detection anymore.

Are we talking about the mobile app page in Aurora? If so: There is no 100% safe way to detect which IP address is the correct one. Aurora only guesses what it might be. It also says that (I believe). Adding a selection makes sense.

Yes, exactly! It is about connecting mobile app page. And yes, it reports which IP it listens to. I hope that i reported in correct board because while the fix is enhancement the bug of guessing wrong does exist I could make it work by proxying ports to the correct IP but still selection will be way better for everyone(especially people that are not as good with tech). I really hope that it will be done in next few updates.

I just wonder how many people actually use the same or similar configuration as you?

these days VPN is very common and it always seems to select the internal VPN IP that usually cannot communicate internally for security reasons even if you used same server

I did not have this issue prior to the most recent update now however I do. Aurora displays my Lan network ip adress and now the mobile app can no longer connect ( even with firewall disabled or the ports forwarded ).
(Edit, this may be the wrong thread to reply this in but it seems shockingly similar to what I was experiencing)

First of all, the selection of the IP address has NOT changed. So if "suddenly" Aurora uses a different IP address, then something on your end has changed as well. By default Aurora picks the IP address which is connected to the internet. And second, now as you can PICK IP addresses, it is not clear why you just cant pick the "right" IP address and solve the problem yourself?

So, I'm also seeing this problem. Fresh install of Windows, fresh download of Aurora. Windows firewall disabled for network type. Windows defender and security disabled. Other applications can attach and listen to ports. System only has one network adapter present.
On start, log file generates one line: Failed to start mobile server because the IP is invalid
When opening the mobile connect window (red icon bottom left) it lists the correct IP under the "Enter IP Address" field.
Was able to use an app called "portlistener" to successfully attach to the required ports (25000-25004).
