Will Trainers work for non Steam/Epic? on General Discussions Message Board - Page 1

If I have a game installed on my PC but it wasn't purchased through steam/ Epic, but if I manually add it to my Steam library will they work? or do they specifically have to be bought through Steam/Epic?
