Hi, I've recently altered some options in the settings in aurora on the steam deck and now it won't log in, so im unable to log in to put them back. Does anyone know where the settings are saved on the deck? Hoping to delete the file and be able to log in again. Thanks for any help.

Some of the settings are stored in the same location of the Aurora.exe and others are in the equivalent of C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\Aurora

Thanks found the settings and deleted them but it is still auto logging in. As aurora is logging in it seems to disconnect me from the steam servers. It's all very odd.

It's gonna store the settings file inside of the prefix of the game you're running it with, if you found a settings file anywhere else it's not gonna change the behavior of it inside of a game prefix.

If you know where that prefix is on your deck, there's gonna be a folder structure to emulate a normal C drive on a Windows machine, and it'll be in there somewhere.

If you're using it through a standard Steam game and Steam Tinker Launch, the prefix will likely be in /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/STEAM_ID_OF_GAME/pfx

To get the Steam ID of a game, look it up on SteamDB

Make sure to enable viewing hidden folders or you won't see .local

Starting from the pfx folder, Aurora settings will be in pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Cheat Happens/Aurora/Global Settings.json

Can either delete that settings file to start fresh or open it and change AutoLogin to false if that's all you want to change.

Worst case, you can reset your Deck and then just start over from scratch. Pain in the butt I know, but it may be less time and hassle to just reset and redo than try to fix whatever happened.

I did think about that but I already had to do a new install when my deck bricked after a verifying files loop a week after I got it. I kinda got it working but aurora now constantly flickers when loaded making it difficult to use. I'm not very techy with Linux and steam tinker but I'm thinking now I've deleted the p5R file for aurora I will need to set it up again using the youtube vid on cheat happens. I'm learning slowly but surely.

We appreciate your perseverance! Wish we could make it simpler, but Valve chose to use Linux as its base instead of Windows which would have made it 100 times easier.
