I am having an minor issue with Aurora, the downloading director, and having to manual move files around.

I know CH is not going to go back and redo all the older trainers just to fit in with the Aurora schema, no problem.

My issue is when I go and look up an older trainer in Aurora and it must download the file as a standalone trainer, a browser window opens and downloads the file to my downloads directory. That is to be expected behavior from a browser window.

The problem is that I then need to manually move the zip file to my trainers directory and extract.

Aurora works very well with standalone trainers after moving/extracting the files to the trainer directory.

These extra steps are annoying, especially since these extra steps were all done automatically in Trainer Manager previously.

Could we have the option in Aurora to designate a download directory to which Aurora would download standalone trainers, then extract them similar to the way the previous Trainer Manager did?

Actually, we going through the ENTIRE database of trainers and converting the most recent to native Aurora format. It's just going to take some time. We are about half-way done. We would rather use any extra time in updating trainers than going backwards and adding in old functionality from the now defunct Trainer Manager. But that is just my take. Perhaps 0x90 has a different view.

It's not doable the way its done in TM because it requires a whole browser engine which downloads the ZIP file for you in the background. This is because the "download standalone trainer API" is quite complex, especially because of the customization / personalisation of the trainer file.

And the cost of shipping additional 100mb (including on every update of Aurora) vs the win of just downloading and unzipping in background is not reasonable. Keep in mind that you will only download standalone trainers once, because if they are getting updated then they are converted into Aurora compatible format. Which means ideally you don't have to download standalone trainers anymore (after a fair amount of time) but in reality you may still do if you want to play an older game again. But this won't happen too often for too many people, so if it happens its acceptable to extract the ZIP file yourself then which takes less than a minute. Like you said Aurora already brings you to the direct download process page so half way is already done for you.

Some people were/are not aware as we didn't actually announce it, it is just something we have been doing in the background.

Well if all trainers including old like dungeon siege 3 or mass effect 3 (original) and such that would be very good news
