Wow, sorry to hear you guys being hit with a DDOS. I hope you catch the guys doing it. Such a petty thing to do. 😣

What sucks is that cloudflare is actually quite quite amazing at mitigating the DDOS that is their major business model and they have massive pipes to divert the traffic into a black hole....so whoever did this, have spent a large $$$$ to rent soo much bandwith to take down a cloudflare protected site.

SO, the good news is: Whoever did this has wasted most likely hundreds to thousands of dollars on a hissy fit.
