Does the Spaceforce: Rogue Universe Trainer also work with the Spaceforce: Rogue Universe HD game?

I heard the Devs updated some aspects of the HD version and fixed some problems. That doesn't necessarily mean it won't work properly, but I was wondering if anyone has tried it out here? Steam only has the HD version available now. I was considering it just as an upgrade.
