I was looking at Steam charts and the Dec 2017 Most Popular caught my eye. As of Dec 2017, Win-10 use on Steam is 24.77% and Win-7 is 68.8%. Say what?
The full chart of most popular is here, bottom of the page:
LinkLooking around, there are reports of continuing issues between the Steam App and Win-10. Valve handles 75K Steam Support requests every day. Then reading Techspot.com:
Worldwide, Windows 7 remains the most popular version of Microsoft’s OS, but that’s primarily due to its huge number of enterprise users. The opposite had been true of Steam gamers; so, why the sudden change? It turns out that it's mostly down to one game: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Or more specifically, it’s a result of the Battle Royale title's popularity in China and the number of people who use Windows 7 in the country.
---------
Windows 10 could eventually retake the top position on the Steam survey, though, especially if China carries out its threat to ban Battlegrounds because of the excessive violence and a design that “goes against Chinese values and ethical norms.”

From Windowsreport:
According to the Microsoft forum site, Windows 10 users have experienced many difficulties with downloading and updating Steam games that worked on Windows 7.
And finally:
According to Steam’s statistics, the use of Simplified Chinese has seen a dramatic 56% increase on the Steam site, most notably in games like Football Manager 2017. This has left many wondering: why the hype in China all of a sudden?
It is believed that Chinese gamers tend to prefer Windows 7 because of its ease of piracy. If a sudden mad rush of gaming in China has flooded the Steam site, it could be the reason why Windows 7 is now in the number one spot.
