Hello all.
I know this isnt Doom forums, or devs, or anything.
But I was wondering if you guys and gals might be able to point me in the right direction, that neither Steam nor Bethesda can answer (I have submitted tickets to both Steam and Bethesda already, but no answer yet).

So, I played Doom for about half a year, every once in a while, but only got about halfway done with it.
I was in the Doom Beta (as I am in a LOT of game beta's).
I had both Doom and the Doom beta installed, although the Beta had just a couple files, that I didnt think were important at all.
My C drive was almost totally full, so I uninstalled the beta through windows, which launched steam. I also deleted the Beta folder from steam.
I then launched the 'Move Game' steam feature, and moved the game to the D drive.
Well, a while later (months), after many Doom updates, I decide to play it again, determined to finish the game already.
Well, all I get when I launch the game is a black screen forever (after like maybe 10-20 secondsd, the mouse cursor comes up, and I look at task manager and the game is Not Responding).
I can let the black screen stay there forever, it wont go away, and the game wont launch.
I have tried the following
Run steam verify
Move game back to c drive
Run game as admin
Run game in compatibility mode
Run steam as admin, then run game as admin
Changed/uninstalled/reinstalled video drivers, clean installs and with DDU
Tried with a different video card
Tried running 32 bit by running in win7 mode
Googled the error, and found 1 steam page that just had this in his file, and posted there about seeing if anybody could figure it out also.

I jusy keep getting this error all the time in the Doom folder error text file. There is WAY too much to list here, and doing so would trigger the CH thread tjingy and not let me post, because of all the non standard chars. I removed all the stuff that would trigger that also from the stuff below.

Anyway, the 3 main things I see are
Unknown resource type 'gamefact'
No address, error 487 while loading renderParm temp89
DOOMx64.exe @ 0x4a86d849 + bytes UNKNOWN FUNC_PARAM_ERROR
ERROR idParmState AllocParmState failed to allocate vector parm state while loading renderParm temp89

Any help would be appreciated, although I know it is a very very long shot.

OMG!
I got a CHRISTmas gift!
Someone posted to delete some files, and then verify, and it worked!
I guess I got caught on some older files that were supposed to be deleted after the new update, but the old files were still there, and it was trying to load from the old obsolete files instead of the new ones? OR, installing the new Wolfenstein II installed something missing from the other game, who knows? But I dont think its that coincidence.
Anyway, I dont know if I can post the link to the steam forum for the fix, but if I can it will be here for anyone that runs into this issue.

The Bethesda team still has my ticket open, with no way to tell what it is.
They just said to uninstall the game, steam, and reboot, and re-install steam and then the game.
Well, I dont have 50GB bandwidth to waste, so that was an excellent find from Ransom on the steam forums.

I am so glad this post helped someone else though!
I was so elated to be able to play also.
