Unfortunately that's about as far as my knowledge goes, sorry it did not help. The only other thing I could suggest is to contact the manufacturer for further assistace, or to get some dedicated software. Display Fusion seems to be popular and has positive reviews on STEAM and they have a free trial to to test it out first. Plus it's 50% off till end of fall sale if it does the trick for you.

Now that I think of it, just 2 days ago I had a similar problem with a friend of mine, he had an Acer x34 and it was a load of trouble to set it as his main display as well and it was because of DP port also. Try asking Acer or see if anything is on their forums. Might just be an Acer thing. here is a page to better describe the process for multi setup thru windows.
