does the character editor work with win 10 and if so dos anyone know how to install it?

Hello This is my first post here. 🙂

I do not have win, but I can report that the editor workd fine with win7. It's a bit tricky if you are not used to editors.

run the editor outside of the game, not during! It will come up and the saved game file that you want to edit will have to be browsed to. What I mean is click FILE and seach for the save game you want to edit (I suggest making a backup copy, or editing a spare save in case). So you need to navigate to the directory your game is in. If it is steam, go to the steam directory-> steamapps-> common ->arcanum -> save and select the save you have decided to edit. Usually, the most recent save.

THEN and this is important, they want you to type in exactly the NAME you are playing your character under. In my case it is Thorfinn (notice the capital F). Type it in exactly as it appears in-game, and then you are able to edit all sorts of stat using the tabs above.


Hope you get it working. It should work with win10,. I do not see why not. If the game itself runs fine, the editor will.

So it works 100% if you register the DLL's. I'm no whiz, but i swear i just did it using EMSA DLL reg tool. took 5 seconds.

Just make sure to launch the reg tool in admin, extract Arcanum edit 1.8 into the games folder and use the tool to register these files.

Also I used this editor back in the day, so i knew, but if you don't read read me's, you need to type the character name in exactly or it wont work.

Good luck, sorry if this is resurrecting an old thread, this is just one of my all time favorite RPG's and its tons of fun to tweak your followers etc and try out different builds without spending ages to see where you'll end up.

When I try to launch it it says "Class not registered. You need the following file to be installed on your machine. MSSTDFMT.DLL."
I've installed it via regsvr32 /u "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSSTDFMT.DLL"
As well as through my game location.
Even though the box says it installed successfully it doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Thank you. Upon looking closer I realized I was using the /u command and uninstalling rather than installing >.<

I have Win 10. I opened Trainer 4.34, went to the character editor (really rather have a Shoppe editor) and started fooling around. Nothing takes. After "common" there is no Arcanum in the Steam directory (inside Common, that it.) So, what am I doing wrong?
