The trainer works great for me, except when I deactivate the mega research points mode, all technologies take a negative amount of turns to complete (which means they finish instantly). Now that might not sound all that bad, but it can get rather annoying when I have to choose a research every single turn, it can really slow down the game.
the trainer is making the game think you have more than you do. when you turn it off, the real values take back hold. this is how the game works, sorry.
you are doing something that the game would never let you do in a 1000 years of playing it (i.e. single turn completion of researches, if you left it on and just kept playing each turn, unlocking them all one at the time) by using the trainer. so either leave the option on, or take the 0.5 seconds it takes to press a key to turn it back on when you want to have the next research complete in the next turn.

Trainer no longer works after new update. Anyway to get a update?
Just went to play the game through Steam and it did a major update. 388mb patch which makes the Game "StarDrive 2 - 1.1".
But the "GOOD NEWS" is that the current Trainer did "activate" and also the trainer money, research and command switches worked too.
