You should try it for yourself but I believe it works fine I have only used it once during a tail mission but no one detected me (I ran in front of the guy I was following to see and he just stood there looking at me until I left his view then he carried on). Should work for other tail missions but that's the only one I've had so far.
I must say I really like this style of stealth cheat over past game versions the old ones worked fine but they seemed to freeze up a lot of things and made me worry some scripting would break, this one just doesn't let them fully detect you it works really well so far.

I can't finish the game due too the follow the supply ship mission. I'm betting if a ship stealth is made this is probably where the enemy will lock up like the previous walking versions.
I should have learned my lesson after wasting over 300 dollars on the other ac games I never got through half way due too stealth missions. I know the missions where probably not hard for the rest of the members but due to my Arthritis my dexterity is very limited. I'm putting the AC series as my never buy again list.
