NOTE its either "super ammo" or "no reload", causes crashes after a while after you pick up any upgrades / items, you can test this at the end of the first chapter when you have to find a key, just pick up said key with the options enabled.
Another thing to note is that this crash will ruin your autosave
Edit OK its definitely "super ammo" we will need a button to rest it back to 1 in order to fix it.

yup happens a few times in game, "game" not responding and a restart save is damaged at that time, seems maybe that 999 ammo/items is a bit to much in those times, and game crashes on it.
Warning: this post contains spoilers, but is relevant to the issue at hand.
Just a heads up to everyone, when you get to Spoiler:
Ran into the same issue last night when I started the moon mission in Chapter 13. Game was running without issue until the cut scene that plays after you re-enter the moon base after a brief walk outside. Then the game suddenly began stuttering and slowing down something fierce.
I quit the game normally to see if something had launched while the game was running (the iTunes update is notorious for that), but it wasn't. That's when I found out I couldn't get back into the game at all with that save, but I could start a new one. And my error log was loaded with those count 999 references.
So I'm going to play through the level again tonight as well.
CH Trainers are a lifesaver!
