    doesn't work correct.
    found it several hours ago.
it doesn't recognize the new save format per default and convert it to be readable for the editor.
so far so good, every change seems to be written in the file (timestamp changes) but after saving and starting the game the new file is deleted by the game.

    Edit1:
but when i think about it... it may be an problem with the sync itself.
    and not with the editor.

[Edited by Ginkohana, 12/5/2013 6:06:05 PM]

Edit2: alright now i've got it.
There really is an problem with that syncing.
    But here comes the workaround:

    1. start FFVIII
    2. skip or watch the intro-merch-video-things till main menue
    3. start the editor (ALT + Tab to get to desk)
    4. load the save file and edit it
    5. get back into the game
    6. load youre edited save (i saw that it worked by changing GIL)
    7. and really important: before going ahead playing save again so you're new Data is synced to the cloud

[Edited by Ginkohana, 12/5/2013 6:15:01 PM]

Edit3: glad CH is going directly to the memoryadress and not on the saves.
that would be a killer for every trainer/editor who's going to edit saveentries.

[Edited by Ginkohana, 12/5/2013 6:18:26 PM]

Edit4: that workaround is a pain in the a#%*
imagine selfie get into you're party -> edit her..
close game cause you can't get back to title screen and do it again.
selfie changed to zell aaannnddd here we go again.
second savefile seems the only way to not restart the game.

[Edited by Ginkohana, 12/5/2013 6:22:28 PM]

Edit5: you can't load an other savegame from within the game.
-.- that workaround is really a pain in the a#%*

In the new FFVII, you have to edit your save at a certain point. right before a load game or something. been awhile since i've tried it so my memory isn't fresh.

even if there would be anyone who would like to look deeper into it.
    Thats not the problem.
The problem is that there is a synchronisation of the savegames.
The launcher detect when the savegame is edited so it will be synced new.
The Editor itself works fine but the Cloudsync from the launcher is the prob.
Only way to get it to work without a workaround would be hacking the launcher.

Is there any other option to turn off cloud saving and saving synchonization ?

I know that cloud sync can be turned off by right clicking game name and tick cloud saving option off.

not in this case. the cloudsaving isn't done by steam in this case. it's done by the square enix launcher and there you can't turn the sync off.

only way to use that editor was the workaround i postet as edit.
