I'm having exactly the same problem with Kapersky and the trainer.
The novel CH online verification seemed to be for me the 'usual suspect', too.
This trainer shouldn't 'phone home', because I have the keyfile on my PC.
So, please remove the online verification and everybody will be happy again.
Everything worked well in the past without it, so why changing it?

Well, I'm using Kapersky for two good reasons:
First, it's not a product made in USA, which is most probably infested with NSA backdoors.
Second, Kapersky offers the best performance of all antivirus scanner software I have ever used.
By the way, Kapersky is not the only scanner that blocks the trainer as you may learn by reading the posts regarding this problem.
Surely, you are well aware that trainers act much like viruses. Perhaps it's worth while to think over developing methods that do not put the trainer into permanent conflict with antivirus software.
For me, it's not the question if I CAN establish an exception in Kapersky for the trainer, I simply do NOT want it. 'phone home' software from little known sources is generally an absolute no-go in my little IT world.
Interpreting your above statement as a 'no' to my petition leaves me with the only possible decision, which is not to use cheathappens trainers any more and use freebies again.
Therefore, thanks a lot for the fine trainers so far. It was nice over the years, but now it's over.
