Your AV, firewall or other security software is blocking it. You'll have to contact them for instructions on how to add to exclusions list or make it work. You can also uninstall and get an AV suite that does not block our trainers.
Note that AVast, Kaspersky and BitDefender are the worst.
Windows Defender, Microsfot Security Essentials and Malwarebytes Antimalware work fine.

oh i feel such a shame now...
i wrote at the trainers board that people should read the well given advises better an then i forgot to shut down kaspersky BEFORE i downloaded the trainer
sorry for stealing your time, editor is running, i think my pc shut down before because the download had been damadged
iam trying to find the option to make an exeption for the editor in kaspersky ( just bought it for a year ) and after it ran out i will get a new one which i hope will not make such problems again.
kaspersky never made any problems before with your stuff but i think its always a first time
happy new year again
I'm having an issue as well with the Editor version for Xcom Enemy Within. This isn't a problem with bitdefender (I've already added it to exception lists and all that jazz), but instead it seems it refuses to open correctly.
I run the program, it opens a tiny window saying "Customized for" and my username, and then it just closes down and does not open anything else. no error messages, no crashes, just closes.
have you had this issue happen before? I'm curious for a fix for it.
thats what i had in first, for me the download had been damadged.
try to shut down all, AV EVEN if you added it as exception when you "download" it.
perhaps the exception only goes for the start of a programm NOT for the download dont know if that realy differs but i think you cant make an exception for a program you did not download before.
i learned that you never know what your AV exactly do, just try it out and pray it helpes
