To help you improve the trainer, the crash after the trainer somehow changed the file "Rome2.dll" in my game folder. Had to check the game for errors via Steam and it reloaded this file, as the old one was too small (only about 256kb instead of 27.085kb).
Maybe this helps.
lol.. no it didn't
almost all steam games will delete and reload certain files after crashes and etc.
thanks for the info but our trainer isn't writing to the .dll's on the disk. actually it's impossible to do that anyway while the game is running. windows wont let you..
best,
Cal
Don't know if you're being retarded or you actually thought the answer was helpful. Even if I choose to research one option, quit and start over.. it has researched more than the option that I choose. WITHOUT the trainer.. I'm not that technotarded.
the trainer sets the amount of days for the research icon you selected to a high value so that it unlocks immediately upon the next turn. that's all it does.
it writes to a SINGLE ADDRESS in memory when you press the key.
so when you save the game, you are saving the value of hex 999 for the number of turns passed for the particular research item.
when you start the game over with no trainer attached.. there is nothing for a anti-cheat to detect. so the game loads your savegame with the values changed from 0 to 999 hex as the number of turns that whichever research items you selected to manipulate.
if you go to next turn and the game crashes.. how can it be from the trainer? the only assumption then is that the game doesn't like that you have multiple research items set for 999 turns.
I didn't program total war rome 2. their coding logic or anything in place to deal with research items unlocking multiple of them at a time or unlocking early isn't known by me.
the point is, that the trainer 'being activated' is no longer the culprit for your crash since it isn't on the second time you are ending turns.
and if you watch my video, neither is setting a research item to a high value, since I did it and it didn't crash..
so here we are. I can do it here with no crashes, but apparently you do it there even with the trainer NOT ON when you end turns and it does crash..
the answer you gave me was helpful in that it confirms there is not going to be some simple easy explanation for this game crashing, which is why I posted all the links and showed a video of it working fine.
Ok everyone listen up, Iv got a solution It may seems silly but it works finally for me.
1.Delete all ur current save games ALL of them
2.verify integrity of game cache.
3.it might download a 11.4mb thingy for Rome 2
4.start ur game and start ur trailer as admin.
5.press F1 and only use only gold and unlimited movements. i think those two r all u actually need.
Sorry, but it doesn´t work.
It doesn´t work with all features, 1 Turn bla bla...
And it doesn´t work with just this two features you wrote here.
But thank you for the idea .
