We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now this is the best solution without raising prices across the board or asking our current lifetime members to pay more.
OK then I guess we just retire all games at patch #20. Thanks for your input.
Bad idea. The change is fine.
This is highly illogical... lifetime members is a one-time payment. It won't bring you more revenue in the long run, atleast not for some users. I have already bought a years membership twice because lifetime wasn't available to me.
One time payments may not be as illogical as you think, quite a few gaming sites do quite well with one time payments.
I strongly believe that this decision has been well thought out and planned accordingly to upset as few people as possible while keeping the site alive.
Honestly if I could afford to I would buy/donate for lifetime membership again, it's well worth the money; a 12 hour game (£30) changed into something you can play for 70 hours (£159). That's cheathappens magic and even if it only happens once your subscription has paid you back.
DON'T DIE CH PLEASE!!!!

I havent been here long anyway but thought Id give a little feedback here...
This change seems fair enough for now, and you could always modify it in the future, to retire games instantly as they hit 20 patches seems a little extreme to me, as more and more games are getting more patches due to constrictive development times and lacking proper testing...
I personally believe the patch 20 retirement would drive people away from the site, and thus reduce further membership fees...
Just a thought...

I agree...
It's fair.
They're not kids. They're professionals.
A lot of new games are being released every week.
Add to that the old games and the insane developers ('patchaholics')...
Therefore, the amount of CH's work has greatly increased.
We have to remember those things.
Thanks CH Team!
P.S. yes, I'm a lifetime member and I'm proud. Worth every penny.
