System Shock 2 Message Board  

Just spent the last few days reliving the glorious past of System Shock 2, so many pleasant (and scary!) moments....
Aside from the rather simplistic Dark Engine graphics, the audio, plot and character development are still amazing. You know when an enemy is just around the corner, the thud of a rumbler close by, the skitter of a spider and gargle of an anelid pod ready to erupt, it's brilliant in headphones.
So I now wish that someone, somewhere, has the ability, talent and backing to take us to the next stage of S.H.O.D.A.N.s' plans to overcome mankind and the star systems, imagine what they could do with the engines available today, the graphical power and audio subsets that could really raise her powers to the next level.
Oh well, guess I'll just keep doing the Euromillions lottery in the vain hope of winning and being able to pay a studio to realize my dreams.......one day pathetic humans.........
