This sequester **** shows that we're going to die a hell of a lot sooner than the CBO has been projecting.
When Congress passed the bill which made the sequester a reality, we were all happy and Congress was happy and Obama was joyful and called it a down payment on further cuts.
And now those cuts are being felt and it's...bad? It's...the end of the world? It's...an example of the government not working?
We're dead.
If we can't stomach extremely minor cuts, we will never be able to do the necessary cuts to keep our debt under control.
Our Congress is talking about a handful of billions over a ten year period for cuts when this country spent 250 billion more than it took in just in the month of February.
In ten or fifteen years, interest payments alone will exceed the ability of the taxpayer to pay.
When this happens, our creditors will force real cuts upon us. It will cripple us, permanently. The US dollar will fall into such depths where everyday consumer goods will be prohibitively expensive for even the wealthy to buy.
Those parts of this country which can survive on their own: the PNW, California (if it gets its own debt under control), Texas, the South-East... they're not going to stay. And there will be nothing anyone can do to stop them from leaving.
Disunion is the end of the United States, and we will all live to see it.
Some of us will die in the fighting after collapse.
And then the rest of us will live the remainder of our lives in discomfort.
If you had any doubts about it, the sequester business should have removed them.
