I recognize that this site will not likely be viewed by too many people directly affected by the massacre that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut. However, I just wanted to put up a post for all of us to send our thoughts to those victims and families. This is waaaay off topic for the site, so I hope it does not somehow break any rules. I just thought this could be the place for our community to place its condolences.

To the families of the victims of yesterday's tragic shooting. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. You are all in my family's thoughts at this time.

EDIT: I would like ask the CH community to use this topic solely for expressing condolences. Please refrain from making this topic a place for discussing political views or the like. I have no desire to see this thread become a place for heated and pointless bickering.

That is the smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say about anything.

my sincere condolences go out to the victims' families.

the whole thing seems fishy though, just like the mall shooting in Oregon and the movie theater shooting in Colorado. There is no clear motive behind the shooters themselves, something more sinister is in play behind the scenes here.

The more sinister thing is how we can encourage societal patterns that result in these crazed shootings. Seriously, this is something out of a horror movie, someone shooting up a kindergarten should never happen, and like dstates said, it points to much deeper societal issues than just one man with a mental disability. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families involved in this horrible event.
