Im using the correct version of the trainer i've double checked it.
then the 2000 other people who arent crashing must be using the wrong version of the game which actually works with our trainer
i have to assume you are using wrong version or have something blocking the trainer
best,
cal
I decided to play Xcom again after an absence of a few months. I re-downloaed the latest trainer for my Steam version, made sure it is allowed on both inbound and outbound rules in my firewall and is set as an exception in Windows Defender, Baidu Antivirus and Malwarebytes Premium. I started the game. pressed F1 (tried this step in menu as well as ingame on second attempt). got into the level. Pressed NP1 heard "Activated" followed by "Deactivated" and clicked on my character and pressed * and heard "Activated" I followed those steps with the other characters and went into battle.....
I got spanked BIG TIME!!!!
I never had issues with this great trainer before and am at a loss as to what is preventing the options from taking effect. If it was a different version trainer then the game I would have had the classic crash when either F1 or an option is pressed. This is not the case.
@Caliber could you give me some direction of anything else I could be doing wrong here? 🤔
I hate to whinge as I love the trainers and the work you guys put in for us.
Options for numpad 1-8 are supposed to be used during battle. To modify a soldier's stats while at your base, use the options with Barracks at the start of the option. For example, hit numpad 0 (Barracks Health) while viewing your soldier at your base to edit its health.

Which is the option to add unlimited items in inventory? For example unlimited sectoid corpses
Yep, you'll need to play the game to get them or you can bypass this one and go for "XCOM 2"
Just started playing the game and I want to ask on how do I check the game version? I'm playing the STEAM version and am using the latest trainer but the options don't appear to work at all.
Is the trainer dependent on US/EU/etc. specific versions or is it workable for all versions regardless whether it was released in US, EU, etc? Also, appreciate it if someone can confirm on how to check the game version.
If you are playing on Steam you automatically have the latest version, which happens to be 1.00.4963.
You'll note on the trainer page theres a line item called Distribution.
SOMETIMES you can get the game version from the executable itself. Go into the game directory, find the executable (in the case of XCom its under Binaries) and hover over the file. It gives you the correct version number. Other times you have to right click and hit Properties, then go to the DETAILS tab and look for the File Version.
On some games you dont get the latest patch number, but an entirely different number which is useful to the devs, but meaningless to the player.
I noticed in XCom Enemy Unknown theres no place where the version number is displayed anywhere in the menu. In other games if its not listed on the main menu, it might be displayed when you go to the Options.
On a side note, your trainer not working probably isnt caused by a version mismatch, but by some other issue which isnt obvious. Trying running both the trainer and game as an Administrator in Compatibility Mode.
The last trainer works for me under Windows 10 Pro 64.
