Rolled a 2nd char yesterday and used a free trainer (ugh - before I discovered CH today) to help me shortcut to finishing all the story missions in Playthrough 1 and 2 so I could legit all the PT2.5 side missions.

After 7 hours I got there, turned off trainer, and now with no trainer running, whenever I kill an enemy, "Challenge Complete" items rolls by like crazy and my Badass rank and points are like a runaway train.

I tried using the CH editor for BL2 but theres no facility to edit Badass Rank, and I tried deleting profile.bin as someone suggested but the Badass Rank sticks. Wonder if its fetching a backup copy from Steam cloud.

Anyway, has anyone successfully fixed this issue or know what causes it? Thanks!

You could use CE to turn it back to normal.

It seems that the trainer you used modified your Health/Health Regen thingy. You can change that on CE. That's the only spontaneous BA reward I can think of.

As for unwanted BA tokens, you could always change the tokens spent to the desired amount and then use CE to give yourself just 1 BA token to add to w/e. Save & quit, that should solve your problem. As for the total BA ranks, I'm sure CE has a way of modifying that as well.

I have a feeling that the trainer you used somehow froze the challenge updates but the game still kept a record of your progress for each challenge. Now that the trainer is no longer 'holding' the challenges, when ever you kill something the challenge is updated and you get multiple ranks of the challenges.

That or now that you have some pretty beastly guns on your 2.5 run through you are getting bulk amounts of low level, damage dealing challenges.

In any case continue playing as you normally would and ignore the challenges for a while longer. They should run out sooner or later.

Hey guys appreciate the replies. All I did to buzz through the playthroughs to get to PT2.5 faster was turned on infinite health and increased speed and jump height, infinite ammo, thats pretty much it. But my health and shield are now back to normal values with no trainer running.

And yet every time I take damage and heal it goes through the "Heal Plz 1, Heal Plz 2, Heal Plz 3, Heal Plz 4, Heal Plz 5" challenge completed sequence.

Anyway so far I can't see a way to edit Badass Rank overall in either of the CH editor/trainer modules, its like a million and something now, my spent tokens hasn't changed thats still fine, but would really love to normalize all these values. emailed chris@cheathappens and he had no idea saying he had never played BL2. (??)

Alright I seem to have solved my problem. Damn Steam cloud sync was not allowing local copy of profile.bin to be deleted and recreated, instead it just restored the missing file from cloud.

Disabled cloud sync, deleted profile.bin and now my badass rank is back to 0 and the constant Challenge Completed loop is gone. Hallelujah. Unfortunately all unlocked heads/skins/legit goldkeys are gone but dont care at this point.

Unfortunately I spoke too soon, even though I was able to reset badass rank to 0 by deleting profile.bin, no matter, because "Heal Plz 1, 2, 3, 4, 5" begins rolling by again like crazy every time I take dmg and then heal. I'm talking when no trainer or editor is active or anything. Other people on the Gearbox forums seem to be having this problem as well, so I guess I won't expect any way for us to use a CH editor to edit Badass Rank, but it would be nice!

Your savegame is corrupted (I had the same issue) and there is no way to fix it. But for future, I should inform you that exactly "Infinite Health" option in *his* trainer provokes that glitch. All other options can be used safely. I tested.

@singlerose thanks for the info my man. glad I found CH and never have to use that other ****ty trainer again. I will probably just roll another character and try to dash through both playthroughs of the story missions with extra run speed, this time without infinite health.

The whole reason I resorted to a trainer in the first place was to get to PT2.5 in the quickest way possible with my second character, then resume playing legit, without having to spend 24 hours tediously working through the story missions two times the normal way as I already did w/ my first character - been there/done that/got the t-shirt/gets really boring.

Anyway thanks for confirming my suspicions about the savefile.
