Hi,
I do not know if you have the same problem. But my antivirus detects a virus in the last trainer(BORDERLANDS 2 TRAINER 1.0.10.744907 (06.27.2013)). I use BitDefender.
Thank you for your feedback.
Add it to your exception list and contact BitDefender about it being a false positive.
I cant get the trainer to run. Im running Windows 7 x64, steam client and the game are both up to date. I have run the trainer normally and as an admin and the same behavior occurs. Right when the trainer is activated, the game crashes and I get an error in Steam. The error is "Failed to start the game (app already running). I have also tried to run this with the steam trainer app, and the issue is still there.
Have you tried running the trainer in xp compatiability mode?
Have you tried running the trainer and then BL2 from the BL2 directory instead of Steam?
Just tried both. Game still crashes, although this time with the generic windows "borderlands2 has stopped working" error.
Just another thought, have you tried verifying cache for BL2 in Steam?
Or maybe re-installing BL2 again?

Did both. Issue persists.
Im wondering if it has to do with the initial installed version. I just bought the game and downloaded it a couple days ago, so the initial version installed was 1.0.10.744907. Maybe the there are supporting files leftover from earlier versions that are allowing the trainer to work for you guys.
editted for proper build number
